but also, it's a day that changed my life for the better. >> what are you doing? >> the book. >> it's me. >> kate plays ashley. both she and nichols life were transformed when she started reading him the book "the purpose-driven life." >> i deserve your best. he expects the most of what you've been given. >> expects to make the most of what you've been given. >> i haven't been given anything. >> you have a son. >> there is a lot of hope. someone who thought her life was over for a really long time found herself again in a really, really intense situation. >> did you forgive me? >> i don't know. but maybe god can. >> they make brian nichols a little likable. >> he was a sinner saved by god's grace. just like i am and just like everyone else is. he was somebody's son. he was somebody's father. >> ashley said she wouldn't mind talking to brian, but the way she's turned her life around,
