weather center because it will be spotty yesterday. >> a little spotty. >> it will not be a deluge or a need your umbrella kind of of a take. >> on the off chance put it in the bag. >> that is right because there will be a few spotty showers and right place at the wrong time. that is within part of the story. other parties it is chilly today and you'll feel that the second you walk out the door this morning. temperatures only in the 07's for our high. lets look at our neighborhood network. the this is kutztown. the this is what we are seeing. that mix of cloud and sun throughout the day today. 57 degrees. you can see that cloud cover is heavy and that is also part of what is happening. we have got a temperature right now 57 degrees in mount pocono. sixty-five in philadelphia. sixty-six in atlantic city. we are starting out cool. we have a breeze the 10 miles an hour in philadelphia, westerly breeze this morning and let me tell you you can feel it. i was just outside and i certainly did. looking live at storm scan three those are remnants of our low pressure system, the back end of it, that will

bring the potential for a few showers. it is not heavy, it is not a lot but it is a nuisance shower out there. check it the out for next couple of days we are in the 70's for sunday and monday and we have these clouds today but sunshine is back in ernest on monday and then by tuesday, gorgeous, 82 degrees and beautiful. in our seven day forecast i think you'll like what i have got to tell you but we have got a little bit of the chill in the air today. it is a preview of fall, maybe you can start to break out the fall, clothes, try them out, really easy to hospital for fall nicole. >> a little bit, yes. difficult have my pumpkin spice coffee this morning. >> very nice. switching gears, philadelphia water department crews are working to repair a water main break in hunting park. it ruptured near hunting park and west more land streets. this is second big water main break there in months. cherri greg from kyw news radio 1060 is live with the story and just a a matter of

aging infrastructure, is that right, cherri. >> part of it the but that may or may not be the case here but water main break, in question, that what the are main break was built in 1895. that could be an issue. as we will sea water department crews are putting up protective barrier here and what used to be the old tastykake factory, parking lot. after that water main crack own opened yesterday evening. crews are working to wash away debris and effort will continue at least until tomorrow. the break happened around 8:00 s 16 million gallons of water gushed near hunting park and west more land forcing police to close several streets between fox and 29. water department crew as arrived and shut water off before 10:00 p.m. area residents reported low

water pressure but no one was evacuated. spokesmen john dejulio was on the scene. step one in a multi step clean up process. the initial steps are make sure that the area is cleaned up, bringing in the equipment to excavate the wash out here. we remove that material carefully. there are several other mains in the area so we have to do so carefully. once we have a visual we will see what kind of break we are dealing with that was built in 1895, so dejulio says it could take time for crews to carefully make the necessary repairs. this isn't the first century old water main break in this area. the main broke near bakers shopping center which is a half mile away and sent 7 million gallons of water in

the street over there. the aftermath of this break will continue, the crews hope to have hunting park avenue opened by morning rush hour tomorrow and also, i should mention that city council has introduced a bill that would help crews inspect aging water mains so that this type of thing would not continue to happen. live from north philadelphia cherri greg for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> good to a hear that pro active approach in the works, cherri thank you. police are investigate a shooting. one person was shot in the 600 block of darby terrace at 1:00 . she was rush to the hospital. there is no details on the condition at this time. police need your though find this man. they say he walk a away from his home in browns mills new jersey yesterday afternoon. he is mentally handicapped and depend on insulin there was a sighting of colon at browns

mills wawa but if you see him and take a look the at your screen, that is his picture, you are asked to contact pemberton township police. manhunt continues this morning in burlington county for a escaped prisoner. officers were bringing this man michael mimbs in the burlington county jail yesterday morning, when he slipped away. police say mimbs escaped into downtown mount holly, still in handcuffs and with no shoes. twenty-seven year-old is facing charges of unlawful handgun possession in delaware county. anyone who sees mimbs or knows where he is should call 911. in oklahoma, a prison remains on lock down this morning after inmates are killed and five injured during a riot. altercation lasted 40 minutes at the simmer on correctional facility near tells a inmates hurt were taken the to the hospital. no staff members were injured, this by the way is second violent incident in just four months. a pilot crashed its plane and crashed just feet from the home of the one of the closest friend in south jersey.

that plane went down on jackson road in atco camden county. "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson spoke with the pilot's friend who saw it all happened. >> reporter: it doesn't feel real. >> it really hasn't sang in yet. >> reporter: bad enough to witness a plane crash just feet from your home, worse is even the pilot moments before his death. >> the plane smashed up against a tree. >> reporter: unthinkable to realize that pilot is a close family friend on his last flight. >> i waved to him and then it looked like he came back around to see him outside. >> reporter: saturday unlike any day for eyewitness richard, who watched a man he knew most of his life, slam into a wooded area about 150 feet from his home. police identified that man as six five-year old pilot, david seas. >> not every day that a good friend crashes their plane in your own yard. >> reporter: police say seas took off from camden county airport in his sesna150 and was flying over atco,

unauthorized purchases totaling $4,000. barry was released after posting $7,000 bail. a temple university professor who had been accused of scheming to provide secret u.s. technology to china says he is grateful and relieved prosecutors are dropping the case against him. the the professor released a statement calling the case a nightmare, the the u.s. attorney's office in philadelphia filed a motion friday to dismiss four counts of the wire fraud against the professor. he was a chairman of the university's physics department until the the arrest. he remains a faculty member at this point and he is a naturalized u.s. citizen born in china. a wild fire is burning everything in its path in northern california. devouring homes in lake county right as we speak. the fast spreading fire is just one of the wild fires burning near sacramento. it has grown to more than 100 square miles. flames destroyed more than a dozen structure and they are threatening thousands of homes. fire fighters were able to contain a small percentage of

those people that complained against him hasn't gotten that same call and i think that needs to be an active apology to all of those people that don't have the status i have. we need to find a way to stop this from happening. >> reporter: i'm andy rose, reporting. head of the police union says the officer was just doing his job and that he shouldn't be disciplined before that investigation is concluded. well, former denver dj is suing taylor swift after he says he lost his job after being accused of inappropriate liz touching the singer. david muhler filed a lawsuit in district court. now it claims that he was falsely accused of grabbing the singer's bottom during a meet and greet in 2013. he was fired soon a after. that muhler maintains it was another employee who was responsible for that bad behavior, a statement from swift's publicist say muhler's employer was given evidence immediately after the incident and made his own independent decision. so there you have it. that is kind of what is happening there.

lets see what is happening on the weather front, kyla, good morning. >> let's talk about what is happening. and rooftop of cbs 36789 that is how we will start our day and, how that will go and we could see a sprinkle or two out there. it is a different feeling. we have some wind out there lets look at current wind. it is a little breeze, out of the west as you start your morning when you walk out the door you will notice it. storm scan three shows us some clouds out there but we are looking good, and bulk of the rainy weather has passed us by. we are seeing a few remnants at the back side of this system kind of trickling in, you can see it falling a apart and that is the good thing. i will not rule out a fact that we could see a sprinkle or two in the afternoon. i don't think it will be too bad. temperatures right now 65 in philadelphia 59 in reading. sixty-three in trenton. atlantic city coming in at 66 degrees. the taking a look at down the

shore here we have 60's in cape may, barnegat light, and, coming in at 65 degrees. not a beach day to day. we don't have a great sunshine out there high of 57. rip current risk is low. we have an improvement there. we could see a stray shower or two, i don't think many of us will see it but just be on the the look out today. watching these temperatures in the city, they only go in the 07's today. we will start to get some clearing as we work our way in the afternoon. a very cool seasonally below average temperature today today. let me show you how this spotty showers will work out. models here are tracking this away from frustrates. the in the afternoon we have a few spotty showers possible. that is why i say be on the look out, keep your eye to the sky but after that we will start to clear out and it is beautiful. that is your monday morning at 9:00 a a.m. with gorgeous sunshine and continues right through the day. sunshine, will be the story that we will have for this week once we get through this afternoon. our low pressure system starts to move out. high pressure moves in.

that means sunshine and then 80's as we get into tuesday and wednesday. so we have some beautiful weather heading our way. warmer temperatures, so it is below average today, tomorrow we will see 70's as high and by the time we get to tuesday, wednesday, thursday now we're talking mid 80's. a much different picture. today just 74 degrees. it is cool out there, stray shower is possible, so keep an eye on that, that wind, typically, 10 miles an hour today. we will see it breezy today and breezy tomorrow. tonight skies will clear out, a low of 65 degrees. that the wind is kicking up a bit. it will stay with us as we start our workweek and sunshine will be there to greet you on monday as we head off to work you will not need the umbrella as we get into tuesday, wednesday, thursday. look at this just beautiful now talking mid 80's, lots of sunshine and that is what i call fantastic, just a couple of degrees above average. so you know, nicole we will get a cold kick this weekend and then warm kick this week. >> we will take it, kyla, a little bit for everybody. what time sit, 7:18?

let's check on traffic and see how it is moving out there with ann evans on the cbs-3 traffic center. >> good morning, you're looking at i-95 north of street road, looking to the right in the northbound lanes of, i-95 you can still see flashing lights out there, that accident off to the shoulder is in the process of being cleared. really not affecting traffic that much. but it is in the process of being cleared. i-95 looks okay aside from the particular accident. we will move traffic cam here to the schuylkill at south street. those westbound lanes toward the river, don't they look beautiful this morning. no delays or problems on the schuylkill, behaving itself through philadelphia and suburbs. we will move the traffic cam one more time to the ben franklin bridge mid span, there we go, no delays or problems on the ben franklin this morning. it is in fine shape. taking that to the shore no problems on 42, 55, ac expressway organ even state parkway. everything looks okay, shore bound. that is latest from the cbs-3 traffic center i'm ann evans now nicole back to you.

repair crews on the scene of the water main break in hunting park. that huge main ruptured sending water down the street near hunting park and west more land. cherri greg from kyw news radio 1060 is live with the latest and kind of a mess, um, cherri. >> good morning, nicole, yes, it is a mess and crews are here cleaning remains, mud remains of the 48-inch water main break, and, as you can see, a gaping hole here in the parking lot of what used to be the old, tastykake factory, as it is more than 15 million gallons of water, near hunting park and west more land. the the break happened around 8:00 p.m. saturday after nearly two hours, water gush in the street from the parking lot of what used to be the old tastykake factory. millions of gallons of water, poured on to the pavement forcing police to close several streets between fox and 29, a along west hunting

park. water department crew as arrived on the scene and were able to shut the water off before 10:00 p.m. area residents reported experiencing low water pressure but that was quickly resolved. no one was evacuated. >> repairs will take sometime, it is a large main, 48 inches is a large transmission main, they are not easy repairs to make. excavation and work around it is quite involved. we will be out here for some time to make sure we to this and get it done. >> reporter: water department spokesmen john dejulio says clean up effort will continue at least until tomorrow night. after that repairs. water main was built in 1895 and a it is the first real the water main to break in this area back in june another 48-inch transmission main broke near bakers shopping center at roberts and fox. people before evacuated while shopping at that plaza a a. back out here live, and you can literally see that plaza from the area of this latest

this morning, officials warning that cheese spreads made in maryland and salt here in our area might be contaminated with listeria. the maryland health department says that routine testing revealed some products made by picnic gourmet spreads contained that bacteria. picnic gourmet spread has seized production and anyone who has the products should throw them away. as children head back to school there is a new warning about head lice that are hard to treat. hate to hear about this, right. health reporter stephanie stahl explains this new problem. >> reporter: back to school, reading, writing, arithmetic and lice for some. this year it is not ordinary little bugs that live in hair. new research shown more and more lice are not responding to common over the counter treatments including prometren. >> lice has been exposed to these medications so they develop a resistance. >> reporter: super lice has been found in 25 states. researchers say because it is so widely used, some lice
