shaking their heads a come back by the birds in atlanta falls short and late game interception steals their opening night. the eagles started off sluggish and couldn't get it back together. good evening i'm ukee washingt washington. >> i'm jessica dean. there was so much hype leading up to this season opener but sadly the game just had a disappointing ending sports director don bell joining us now with highlights an few low lights. >> such a buzz kill the way the thing ended. it was real, it was fun. it just wasn't real fun eagles kick off the season with high expectations but the falcons smacked them around with reality early on. even hard to say. up leavable. so we pick it up under nine meant left in the fourth. ryan matthews touchdown. they trailed 20-three at half time. later on with time winding down, how about sam bradford picked off right there. the ball goes off the hands of jordon matthews the eagles fall 26-24 in the opener.

"eyewitness news" reporter david spunt smoke witness victims live at police headquarters with that and some very good, very clear surveillance video yo, david. >> reporter: jess cash it really is. i've seen a lot of surveillance video over the years but i have physical you the clarity in this video sets it apart from other surveillance video hopefully making it ease your for detectives. detectives hope that you can recognize the man in this video so they can get this guy behind bars as soon as possible. the man in this surveillance video on dupont street in manayunk didn't seem too worried about being caught. he stole a valuable package in the middle of the day with not one but two security cameras watching his every move. >> the video shows everything you need to know. >> reporter: manayunk resident brian taylor lives in the home with his wife. and noticed something was wrong when they only spotted one

package on the doorstep last thursday. >> we look at the tracking and it said that it was delivered 11:35. >> reporter: taylor insists this guy messed with the wrong house. because these cameras happen to be some of the best on the mark. >> i bought the best quality camera you can buy and fortunately it paid off. >> reporter: when the thief opened the box, it didn't find expensive electronics. but two designer dresses. brian's wife was supposed to wear for a wedding over the weekend. >> my wife was very concerned. not to mention the fact that she had find another dress for this even. >> reporter: neighbor kieran murphy lives a few doors down from taylor. >> my house has been broken into twice in the past month and haver. >> reporter: murphy says he knows plenty of other neighbors with similar problems. >> it's unfortunate. this doesn't seem to be much we can do. >> reporter: the most expensive surveillance camera rah doesn't stop people from smiling it might help detectives catch these guy and put him behind bars. they just need to know who he is. >> i get packages delivered all

the time it makes me really worried. >> reporter: if you know who this guy detective boss love to hear from you. call in and remain non muss. we're live tonight at police headquarters, david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> all right, david, thanks so much. moorestown man who work as an instructor at a day camp is facing child porn charges to night. this is the suspect 23-year-old daniel chance of foxwood drive he's been released after posting one hadn't dread thousand dollars bail. police say chance was using a file sharing program to distribute the child pornography at the time of his arrest he was employed at the ropes instructor at the liberty lakes day cam in that mansfield township. >> bucks county community is in mourning after high school student was killed in a car crash over the weekend. roadside memorial is now at the site of the role trash which killed 17-year-old christopher on sunday. the central bucks south high school student lost control of his pick up while traveling around a curve injuring three other teenagers passengers.

we spoke to one eyewitness who was still shaken up. >> the boy that was laying in the ditch was just -- kept reaching up into the air. my heart has been hurting the last two days. my stomach feels sick. >> the neighbors tell "eyewitness news" that curve on lime kiln pike is notorious for speeding and accidents. the cause of the crash remains under investigation. we are now less than two weeks away from the papal visit. and 12 days pope francis will land here in philadelphia and security is the number one concern. tonight in "eyewitness news" tv exclusive we go to the head of the secret service after reports the feds disrupted a security threat aimed at the pope during his visit to the us. our pat chiarocchi has the one-on-one exclusive with secret service director joe clancy. >> for a lot of folks in philadelphia it's once in a lifetime opportunity. for us it's an opportunity but also a serious mission. >> reporter: the mission protecting the pope and the

people during his 35 hours in philadelphia. >> our agents will know this independence hall better than maybe better than the park service. >> reporter: secret service director joe clancy a havertown native walked with me on independence mall. 40,000 people will pass through fences and metal detectors to see the pope emerge from the front door at independence hall. secret service agents are looking for witnesses. >> we keep re-evaluating where these little holes in the dense might be so we're constantly designing a new plan and our folks it keeps them up at night but also think about if we have to move the pope out of that are a how do we get him out. >> how do you do that? that's why some of the road closures are in place. >> reporter: residents won't ab loud on rooftops. but agents will be. >> we would have our counter sniper units if place. if they see something that is out of the ordinary, we have people that can respond very quickly. obviously again we work very closely with the philadelphia police depth. >> reporter: it's that close cooperation with law enforcement

agencies that clancy credits with identifying a u.s. threat against the pope. >> i'm not going to talk about that specifically, pat. >> reporter: are you able to tell us that in fact it really was thwart idea. >> yes. i can tell that you we're very cuff in the security plan that we have throughout each of the cities. >> what do you worry about with the bad guys. >> everything. whether it's lone wolf or whether it's group of attack or whether ied. we prepare for any scenario. >> director clancy will be near pope francis in washington, new york and philadelphia. where he says the structure of a national special security event like this keeps the plan secure. yet flexible. especially for a pope who likes to be spontaneous. >> certainly pope francis wants to get out among his people and visit and touch and have them see him. >> reporter: two papal parades on the parkway and one loop around independence mall will be the pope's moment to reach out. >> well the secret service we would prefer that he be an armored tank.

but obviously that's where the balance is. >> reporter: i asked the director whether he knew the precise route of the papal parade along the parkway. he said he did but he wasn't prepared to give details just yet. he did assure me, though, that the people who will be there will be very happy to be close to pope francis. in the sat center, pat chiarocchi cbs3 "eyewitness news". and we are getting a sneak peek at what things will look like when the pope arrives in philadelphia. the world meeting of families released these renderings of the stages that will be used during the papal visit. the first show the stage that will be used when the pontiff gives his speech at independence hall. the other rendering of the stage being built on the ben franklin parkway where the pope will celebrate an open air mass. now some star power is also going to be on hand for the papal visit. today we learned mark wahlberg will host the festival of families much hey has credited hits catholic faith and parish priest for his success after a

>> tonight mississippi police on the manhunt for suspect in two shootings that left the university professor and another woman dead. authorities say they have spoken to the suspect 45-year-old shannon lamb and he has said he's quote not going to jail. lamb is suspected in the shooting death of delta state university professor ethan schmidt. lamb is also a suspect in the murder of a woman he lived with 300 miles away. police are still working to determine a motive. the kentucky county clerk jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to say same sex couples returned to work at same day a same sex couple received a marriage license from her office. came davis spend five days in

jail citing her religious beliefs. in her absence deputy clerks issued licenses. davis is now saying that can continue but under certain circumstances. >> any unauthorized license they issue will not have my name, my title or my authority on it. instead the license will state that they are issued pursuant to a federal court order. davis drew both protesters and supporters outside her office. she is asking for the state legislature to make an accommodation for her religious beliefs. vandals strike targeting the cars of the villanova university football team and its staff. the team returned from its season opener at uconn to find 15 vehicles with windows broken out or shattered. police say a number of items were stolen from team members cars. they know it happened sometime late on september 2nd or early september 3rd. >> a lot of damage, yeah. very extensive. some of the cars were fairly expensive. so it's going cost a lot of money to fix those cars.

it's 54 in millville already. 59 degrees in reading. and 66 in philadelphia. this is the kind of night if you can do it, to sleep with the window open let the breeze blow in. you don't need the air-conditioner and it's not too cold to do that one of those perfect sleeping nights. here's what you wake up to tuesday morning. 57 degrees will be the morning low in philadelphia. 50 in allentown. wouldn't be surprised to see a few 40s up here you can zoo he that blue shading up towards the poconos. wouldn't be shocked to see a freight or 49 there. 53 in millville. that may end up being a couple degrees cooler as well. dew point is 48 degrees. that is off the charts so to speak. our comfort index we look all the time a few days ago we had dew points in the 70s. now we're off the charts. 50 degrees gas as it gets. awesome range and down in the 40s which is unusual. but very welcome for this time of the year. here's a look how it will feel over the next few days. again awesome range tomorrow

♪ a colorado restaurant gets a surprise visitor. >> bear cub was apparently hungry for pizza. >> i would would be too. she wandered through the front door right into the pizza shop in colorado springs. the female cub got trapped back there for while. a couple hours. preventing customers from going in. she like it back behind the pieces is a boxes. wildlife officers tranquilized the cub. she's now in rehab. no word if she ate any of pizza.
