three alarm fire in center city, want to get right out to "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo at the scene at 13th and chancellor streets. jan, good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning, we are told the fire started just before 4:30 this morning. you can see the scene behind me is extremely busy right now. we are coming to you live as you mentioned at the corner of 13th and chancellor streets. dozens of firefighters are here, battling this three alarm err. you can see, just beyond the outstretched ladder truck, at least five, six lines of water hitting the structure right now. we are still awaiting updates from officials here on scene about whether there are any injuries associated with this fire, what exactly the structure is. next-door to very tall apartment build being. i want to talk to one of the people who lives in that that building, the chancellor amounts. this is gloria, she lives on the seventh floor of that apartment building. what was it like this morning, gloria, smelling the smoke, seeing what was going on, and then making your way down? i understand you had to -- >> i had 20 minute i had, 20

minutes to get out there, 25 minutes. but it was quite upsetting. i didn't know in the beginning what was going on. but that must have been the people coming down the stairs what i heard. it was quite upsetting. >> twenty-four floors, and your apartment building. you live on the seventh floor. what is it like now to see what's happening out here today with all of this activity, and then, neighboring structure on fire, what's it like for to you know that your home is that close to it? what's it like to know that your home is that close to where the fire is happening this morning? >> well, it was next-door, next-door. i think, i don't know whether it is the rental building or not, but i know we pay the rent next-door. >> obviously disturbing morning for all of you. you see your neighbors out here. >> that's what got me because i went to the front room, came from the bedroom, went to the front room.

and the front roomy can see all the way up to market street. it is a corner building, corner, 701 is a corner from the apartment. and i saw all of the people. that's what got me. i said oh, my goodness, it must be our building. >> right. you got very scared. because i know you said you saw the smoke coming into your place? >> and then i had to call three times, i kept -- i would say about 20 minute, but 20 minute, seemed like a long time to me. >> sure, when the smoke is coming in. >> and then the firemen came up and knock on the door roll loud. and escorted me down. >> we're happy you're out safe, gloria. >> i'm happy to be here. >> dozen of her neighbors are out here this morning because of this fire, like i said, 24 story apartment building, the chancellor apartment, that's right next to the building. that's on fire. so far there morning no official word about any injuries, the structure now on fire, you can see, still very active scene. so as soon as we get new information to passalong to you, we'll do it straight away. for now, liver in center city.
