wrong, and get your feedback, too. and summer winding down, with some cooler temperatures, saw some hoodies out last night. might want to look in your closet for some long sleeves to get dressed depending on how much you like the cooler temperatures. good morning, it is monday september 21, i'm erika von tiehl. we want to check on the skydeck with justin and also a road with meisha. >> good morning, yes, speaking of long sleeves, i put mine on this morning, because i knew there would be a chill in the air, and there certainly s justin, how about it? standing out there right now how is it feeling? >> we are dropping to the low 50's, very early this morning, but not a bad start to the work week keeping things nice and dry, the weather shouldn't impact the morning commute too much. here is the set up. seeing more clouds coming in the next couple of days. that knocks the temperatures down. they're going to be below average by few degrees, fall does officially arrive this wednesday morning. sixty-one at the airport, five allentown, 06 wilmington, delaware, lower 60s south

jersey, they are your suburbs, cooler spots, doylestown, lower 50's, 55 degrees there is hour. in mt. holly, new jersey, pretty quiet storm scan3, do have some clouds streaming in. high, thin, serous clouds, so that's going to filter out the sunshine little bit today. not as much sun as we did have over the weekend. call p partly sunny skies, humidity levels stay low, cool temperatures around, certainly does feel like fall for much of the upcoming work week. breaking down the temperatures, through the morning, 64 by 9:00. lunch hour, look at that, 6 degrees. partly sunny skies. and we make it to the low and mid 70s for afternoon highs. here is your school day forecast at the bus stop 8:62 degrees coming home from school the low 70s with some sun, give it a b due to the increasing cloud cover. but avenue all it is comfortable day. talk about how long this pleasant weather lasts in the seven day coming up in a few minute. now we hit the roads with meisha. >> let's do so, good morning, justin, to all of you at home. you know, when we hit the 6:00 hour on early monday morning, it just turns into a

different animal. just a different beast altogether. backups on the a, take a pack, it is 6:00 in the morning, this is what you are rushing into. on 95 southbound, if you can stay at home little longer, you certainly want to. give yourself couple of extra minutes, also, we have disable vehicle, on the schuylkill westbound after gladwynn. the right shoulder is the only one trying to casino of squeeze by. actually looks like that's kind of pulled out of the way now. here is some of the backups on the schuylkill at gladwynn. you can see, just a steady flow of vehicles, not even steady, crawling by, in this area, as well. so both the schuylkill and 95, you're certainly slowing down, because that far accident. and because that far disable vehicle, quick peak at the wide, 15 on the schuylkill, 29 going even slower around cottman. erika, over to you.

>> meisha, a thank you. just five days and counting now. preparations for pope francis visit to philadelphia are now really in full swing. that includes towing cars parked in those restricted areas. eyewitness reporter justin finch joins you now. he is at 21st and cherry streets in center sit which more on the parking ban. hopefully people moved their cars. good morning. >> good morning, the towing began in ernest last night and resumes this morning at 9:00 a.m. in the area where we are now north and south of the ben franklin parkway. the signs here have been up for awhile. now the countdown is closing in or the pope's visit, and for drivers to move their cars or else. >> see those areas in black around the ben franklin parkway and independence mall in red? vehicles will not be allowed there when the pope arrives this weekend. but then there have been so many maps, say some philly drivers. >> variety of maps. they have the swing he will doodles on them, they seem, but, you know, they're different variety of the maps are different, red zone, black

zone. >> one thing clear. >> this week if you were parked in those areas your car could be towed. ashley jelly and her husband arrived just in time, callowhill at 17th street, to pair their car sunday night. still got cited though. >> we just ran back up here, saw they were towing all of these cars. >> towing continues in those secure areas, until wednesday. if your car gets towed, you could face a max of more than $200 in fines and fees. that's why the city and ppa say they got the word out early and now the tow trucks too. philly's not known for the most patient drivers. >> so i think it is really important that they start early and let people know early. >> though many drivers agree, the word was out early, they say it could have been more clear. >> i feel like the sit i could have done a better job at communicate g with the residents who live here. we are right in the thick of it here, and we're the ones that will be displaced. >> we have moved and take a look, that's temporary parking

we had high hopes, right? the birds are now zero for two. but the question is it time to panic yet? pat gallon joins us, a lot of people just fed up with the team, only two games in. >> i don't want to panic yet. but actually might be time to panic. erika, i've been watching football here in this town for a long time. as a kid, i sat through the horror of the rich kotite era, four years, ray rhoads, plus countless tough loss cents with andy reid as the head coach. but i have never seen the eagles perform worse than they did yesterday in their home opener against the cowboys, now, got to find someone to blame. that's what we do. offensive line is the key to all of this. chip kelly made some unpopular moves to get rid of some solid veterans along the offensive line and through two weeks it is killing them. the line gave sam bradford little time to throw and get comfortable which is pretty important given that the guy is coming off 2acl tears. also, the line gave demarco murray zero holds to run through, the cowboys blew up murray in the backfield on multiple occasions.

>> 6:14. >> two days left to the summer season. we have little mid high level clouds going on, looking at roof camera. nice color showing up on the horizon. sunrise coming up in about a half hour or so. gorgeous conditions outside this morning. little cooler than yesterday at this time. check out the temperature change. 11 degrees cold nerve philadelphia compared to 24 hours ago. twelve in trenton, six in millville, new jersey, there is the win flow out of the northeast, so, 50's, and some low 60s, for the temperatures this morning, and there is some cooler air to the north. high pressure over new england, has that flow continuing out of the northeast. so, 48 degrees temperature, state college and in scranton. not much happening on storm scan3, just some cloud cover moving on through. it is mid to high level

clouds. just filters out the sun. so we'll see some sunshine today. calling it partly sunny, temperatures in the 70s, northeast wind continues tomorrow. still some clouds around. temperatures stay fall-like on tuesday. then, fall does officially arrive wednesday. we actually warm it upment back to sunshine and temperatures back into the lower 80s. now, we have the persistent northeast wind, starting to kick up the ocean here, off shore buoy height, weather nice, still people hanging out at the shore. be aware, rough conditions in the surf. moderate risk for rip current northern new jersey, high risk for strong risk in south jersey, and at delaware beaches, so i wouldn't even try to go into the water. today partly sunny, cooler, 74 degrees for the high temperature tonight still comfortable, mostly cloudy, 61 degrees, here's the extended forecast, again, somewhat cool today, tomorrow, we do warm up to 80 on wednesday, with sunshine, and back into the mid 70s, and the papal visit this weekend, hooking the people one nice weather, little breezy but some sunshine, low to mid 70s. >> got to hit the pope up.

>> oh, gorgeous these temperatures can be little confusing, you get outside, then oh, i want long sleeves, then it warms up. don't quite know which way to go. >> the transition, absolutely. well i can tell that you we're casino of seeing a normal traffic pattern on this monday morning, it is very, very busy. we have an accident and because that far now seeing some significant slow downs, here's a look at 95, southbound, this is right around cottman avenue. now when i say that most of you know that on a monday morning, 95 southbound around cottman it is busy just to begin with, then you add the accident. it is blocking the far two right lanes, you can see, all of these vehicles, people out on the roads, because of that, this is what happens. take a look at this. this is the back up on 95, southbound, and i can tell you, anywhere around cottman now, you are almost not moving because that far accident. there is clean upgoing on. plus there is crews out there. there is people walking around outside their vehicles. also we have disable vehicle schuylkill westbound after gladwynn pulled all the way out to the right shoulder. looks like travelers are getting by now.

but i will tell you about 15 minute ago it was a lot of back up congestion, in this area, as well, probably still s i can let you know. that then going to the wide, look at this, the schuylkill 8 miles per hour, so busy monday morning, give yourself couple of extra minutes, over to you. >> 8 miles an hour, thank you. >> new this morning, a stabbing is under investigation in upper darby delaware county. one person was stabbed in the providence manor apartments. it happened around 1:30 in the 800 block of providence road. no details right now on the victim's condition or suspects at this time. coming up next, here on "eyewitness news", big shift in the race in the polls for the race for the white house. we'll have those numbers for you. also, the best way to make sure your children are getting enough fruit in their diet. that's ahead in the health watch. we'll be right back.

>> what happens. >> fall starts wednesday? >> wednesday morning, yes. we will be 4:21, right before. >> you got it, the sun airlines with the equator. gorgeous start to the morning, again, we take you to the shore right now, another look where we have more cloud cover along the jersey shore, delaware beaches. that will be the trend today. also, the winds is starting to kick up. it will rough up the ocean for the next several days, so if you do have beach plans, don't expect to enter the water. it will be pretty rough with the strond wind out of the northeast, there are the temperatures, 61 in philadelphia, lower 60s, also in milville and wilmington, delaware. 59 degrees palmyra, new jersey, doylestown, 52. there is some of the cloud cover. little bit of break right now over philadelphia. that's why we're seeing little sunshine. the sun will be up in about 15 minute or so. but seeing that nice color. so, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies, really for the next couple of days. filtered sunshine this knocks the temperatures downment look at the numbers by lunchtime. 68 degrees, partly sunny

skies, we make it to the low 70s early mid afternoon. here is your school day forecast. we give it b due to the cloud cover. very comfortable. 8:00 temperatures lower 60s, on the weigh home from school, little warmer in the low 70s, so still feeling like fall out there. even into the afternoon. afternoon high of 74 for philly. zero seven at the shore in the wind. and the poconos, 65 degrees. that's checking the skies. now we hit the roads with meisha. >> good morning, i'm sure the kids certainly appreciate those hot, humid temperatures coming down just little bit. roadways looking good. all of the accident that we did have out on the roadways, now cleared. this is one area, the platt bridge, beautiful look at the sun, slowly starts to rise. seeing it looking nice here. again, this is where we had an accident, that's since been cleared. and, also, we an accident on 95, academy, that's also been cleared. but we are certainly seeing some backups, in that area, and then we had disable vehicle, on the schuylkill westbound, after gladwynn. that has also been cleared.

so, again, now starting to see just that sun glare starting to peak it little head at you. so pack your sunglasses, not that we ever want to complain about that. right? also, an accident in dekalb pike at skippack pike, one lane blocked in that area. some construction, 202 southbound at naman's road. the left lane is blocked there. so right now, the overall theme is construction projects, moving, accidents that are happening, getting cleared out of the way quickly, this is good. because our monday morning rush typically very, very busy. seeing now at 6:30, as we head toward our rush hour, we love course see levels build. so right now things are looking good. give yourself a couple of extra minutes, over to you. >> pope francis continues his tour of cuba with visit to the second of three stops in the island nation. this visit comes one day after celebrating a mass to thousands in havana's revolution square. cbs news correspondent adrianna diaz joins us from havana, cuba.

>> reporter: despite rain, thousands of young people welcomed pope francis like a rock star. some climbed trees, to get a better look. he spoke off the cuff at an event for cuba's youth. >> seventeen year old was there. what did you think of the pope's speech? >> i love it, she said. it blew me away. i felt like it was my mom or dad speaking to me. it was a pope's last public stop on his first full day in cuba. in the morning, he kissed babies and shook hands before an open air mass for an estimated 200,000. later, 89 year old fidel castro, hosed transit at his residence, in the 40 minute meeting the two exchanged books, and discussed global issues. vatican spokesman, father frederick owe lombard. >> i the pope was very happy about this meeting. some of the members of the family of fidel were present. and the conversation was

informal. >> this morning, the pope heads east to the city city whee he'll celebrate another public mass, then he'll go onto santiago to visit the shrine of cuba's patron saint. adrianna diaz, cbs news, havana. >> many are getting ready for pope francis arrival here in philadelphia. later on this week, the festival of families promises a big party with a long list of world renouned performers and artists on the ben franklin parkway that is this saturday. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us now, there, from the park with a preview of one really special local school's actions, hoping to perform form pontiff. jan, good morning. >> good morning, talking about this school located in north philadelphia, the student are actually going to be performing a dance that is the pope's favorite. who knew he had a favorite dancement we all do, don't we? actually two stages being built here along the bring parkway. we have the main stage then we have the smaller logan square stage. that's where these kids will be performing saturday

afternoon. until then practice makes perfect. >> it is not a spelling lesson in the least. inside this north philadelphia gym. >> one, two, and -- >> these seventh and eighth grade student are per philadelphia g their tango. >> who foles like they have it? >> and just about ready to take the stage in front of the world during the festival of families this weekend. >> i'll be really prepared. avenue been working really hard during the rehearsals. >> i'm always dancing in front of my family. it is not my first time dancing in front after crowd. >> no pressure. the festival crowd is only expected in the hundreds, thousands after all. >> it is unbelievable. it wakes me up at night. it keeps me up at night. >> susan martinelli shea is the founder of tanning with the student, a program that started there ten years ago as a way to teach kids teamwork, manners, and respect. last week she and 44 student learned they'll dance at the world meeting of families celebration on the parkway.

that will initial excitement has turned into focus, at least a hour practice every day. the student will perform a swing number and this tango, a special dance, in honor of the holy father. >> i never new that i would do the tango which is the pope's favre rid dance. now the group doesn't know if the pope will get to see their performance, which is scheduled for early afternoon, he is not expected to be at the festival until late their day, but you just never know with pope francis. >> my hope is he sees a jumbo tron somewhere. >> even if pope francis no not able to see them, the fact we are able to be a part of a once in a lifetime experience is really significant for us. >> never then, will warm up. >> i look and then i do the naenae. >> and then get back to ballroom. >> these kids are ready and they have no nerves. they're great group of kids, take the logan square stage at 12:45 saturday afternoon. of course, we will be
