we may drop another degree or two before the sunnies up in 50 minutes. so storm scan three, nice and quiet. we have cooler temperatures this morning because of the clouds that are gone, maybe a couple of cloud still left in extreme southern new jersey and they will push off shore. fog will begin at 4:21. warm first day this afternoon. we will get up to 80 degrees for the warm spot. we will break down your temperatures. by 10:00 o'clock we are talking about upper 60's, warm lunch hour, low to mid 70's in the the sunshine and mid afternoon temperatures reaching a high of 80 for philadelphia at the shore, a few shore clouds, breezy a at 75 and looking and feeling nice in the poconos in the sunshine, highs in the lower 70's. the it looks like, meisha, we will be bat soling sun glare later this morning. how is traffic looking. >> good to know. right now things are looking g we are heating up. the especially on i-95 southbound at cottman. this is where we have seen an earlier rush. we are seeing that now, evidence by this around the s curve. you can see taillights starting to hit 59 southbound,

again, give yourself a couple extra minutes, because wednesday can be busy. forty-two freeway north bound at creek road approaching 29 five you can see volume level starting to build in this direction as well. just a little bit ago we didn't see quite this much. it looks like we have a lot of people hitting roadways coming out of the new jersey, freeway friend pulled off to the shoulder not causing any slow downs there. also make note that we have an accident overturned vehicle in germantown, germantown avenue and washington lane, now germantown avenue is closed, in both directions, and it was affecting the intersection, just a little bit ago and now it is closed in both directions for those in and around that area. traffic light malfunctions, pal my, yeah new jersey route 73 between river road and hilton road those down wires could cause slow downs heading toward tacony palmyra bridge. overall busy morning. we will have road closures because pope is coming to town in the the next hit, over to you. >> thanks, meisha. baseball fans are remembering one of the greatest ball players in

history. hall of famer yogi berra passed away in new jersey. berra's career in baseball is legendary. he won ten world series and 19 seasons. and he appeared in 18 all-star games. he won the mvp award three times. after his legendary career he began an almost equally legendary career as a commercial spokesperson with an unforgettable catch phrase, for every occasion. yoga berra was 90 years old. new york yankees tweeted this picture, the team says we are deeply saddened by the loss of the yankees legend and american hero yogi ber a we have much more on the life and career of the american icon coming up in our next half an hour. he will be missed, nicole. erika, officials at the university of delaware are planning a campus wide meet to go day after an apparent hate crime. police say three newses were found hanging from a tree on campus. morning. >> reporter: nicole and erika, good morning. just across the street here at the president's office the staff had been working around the clock, speaking with student leaders and campus officials about those three nooses found on the other side of that building right here. last night. here's a photo sent to "eyewitness news". these three nooses described as being crudely made dangling on a tree outside mitchell hall. the here's video from the front of the mitchell hall and that tree from overnight. guns rights add ohio cade katie pavlock spoke there monday at the invitation of the campus group and her remarks have been critical of the black lives matter group in the past. her stance held what we are told a peaceful protest outside mitchell that same night. it was at that spot where those newses were found last night. acting university of delaware president nancy target called the nooses hate symbols and called them a hate crime n a conversation with us just moments ago, targett expressed

her outrage. >> three nooses on a campus is not a prank. if it is intended to be a prank it is not funny. so it is classified as a hate crime and that is how we're treating it. i'm not the amused at all by that. i think we need to take this very seriously. word matter, how you treat people matters. we want to be inclusive and welcoming to all people on this campus. >> reporter: this morning, president targett tells us they may have surveillance video of this crime as it happened. there are cameras in that area of the place where mitchell is. this afternoon, at 4:30, there will be a solidarity gathering at that very same spot and president targett says that she will be there we are live in newark, justin finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thank you, justin. a man is recovering this morning after being hit the by an amtrak train, in northeast philadelphia. police say it happened around 2:00 a.m. near intersection of tacony and levick streets. the man suffered a broken

shoulder and may have lost a couple of fingers. he was taken to hahnemann hospital, at last check he was in critical condition. philadelphia police are also investigating a shooting on a playground in north philadelphia that injured two men. it happened just after 8:00 p.m. tuesday at 27th and clear field street. police say a 22-year old man was shot four times and a 29 year-old man was shot multiple times. police rushed both victims to temple hospital. the 22-year old man is in stable condition and the 29 year-old is in critical but stable condition. so far, no word on any arrests or a possible motive. philadelphia anticipates pope francis visit, businesses are making sure they will get plenty of supplies from all of the crowd. >> security officials are making sure everyone, just visiting is safe. >> "eyewitness news", reporter jan carabao is joining us with barriers are going up in preparation for his stay. erika and nicole, good

morning. papal preparations in wynnewood just outside the seminary, and, you can see, barrier and footage in place is that metal fencing, that bike rack, style fencing. and that is lining the sidewalk, and just around the corner here you can see also, some barriers. taking a lot at video those barriers are in place that happened overnight and tied up traffic, a bit. this video was taken at city and lancaster avenue. police had to shut down part of the road there to get those barriers in place here along the sidewalk. meantime fencing continues to pop up in center city. fence there is 9 feet tall. it is pretty impressive. businesses within that security zone have been stocking up for days now. the owner, that we spoke to in spring garden says he is bringing in three times the number of employees to handle the expected crowd. lets take a listen. >> i'm going to try my best to

serve all of the people from out of town or to feed, to come to see the pope and that is all i can do. >> we're ready for the roller coaster of it and we will experience it and have a a good time and just try to show people that this is all great. this is an amazing thing for philadelphia, so let's just be happy. >> reporter: that is jonathan adams one of the co-owners of rival brothers coffee shop outside that secured area they are prepared for the overflow, they don't know if they will get as many people as in that secured zone because they think once they go into that security area they will in the come back out but they are prepared to deal with whatever crowds, that comes their way. they are happy to do it. they say this is a great thing for philadelphia pack out here live just outside the seminar any wynnewood you can see all of the barriers are being put into place. the roads are still opened as you can see right new you but there will be traffic in this area in just a couple of days. knew route one city after new

streaming through security sense 4:40 this morning. they have lined up since midnight coming from halfway around the world and across the country all to be part of this experience which they are calling once in a lifetime. they say the pope has change the actual tone of the catholic church and they want to be part of his message and they are streaming through by the hundreds because this place on thee lips here is the the only place in d.c. right now that you can see the pope without a ticket. there are tens of thousands of other people that got a free ticket but that was a hottest ticket in town. they are thankful that they made it through security this morning and got a chance to get the their spot, five to six hours ahead of time before the pope goes in the pope mobile after his vice witt president owe bam and a dozen a tour. it will be a special day and we will continue to cover it throughout the day, erika and nicole back to you. >> aren't many things worth waking that early for and

we have temperatures in the the 40's and 50's. we will bring back that sunshine this fall. we had cloud cover, and check this time lapse out from kutztown area middle school, as we go from noon to the evening hours, the skies, starting to clear out, late in the day yesterday. we did get sunshine up in the northwest and berks county and now we are left with clear skies and that is a allowing temperatures to drop. different story in south jersey, delaware, still in the lower 60's, dover, millville, wildwood but around philadelphia and surrounding suburbs, cooling down right before sunrise. fifty-nine mullica. fifty-nine woodstown, new jersey. forty's quakertown, pottstown,

washington lane. it is closed because of this accident in both directions. you can see people on the foot cruiser there flashing lights h this will cause some slow downs for those trying to take germantown avenue because it is closed and it looks like a serious accident. you can a avoid this area or give yourself a couple extra minutes you can do that. also, looking at schuylkill eastbound at spring garden looking good here levels are building here especially, another shot, but i-95 southbound at cottman is looking busy now. pope is coming this weekend, we have road closures and also side net septa buses are detoured around the parkway so make sure to check your schedules and as you can see here ben franklin parkway between logan square and art museum is closed, kelly drive is closed between ben franklin parkway and fairmount avenue, and also, spring garden street between pennsylvania avenue, and kelly drive, and also, this construction, in camden, new jersey is now cleared for those in and around this area.

good wednesday morning to you, we are waking up to just a gorgeous view of the ben franklin parkway where preparations, of course, are underway for pope francis arrival but now we're hearing it could rain, during part of his visit, justin, this is not good news. >> be nice, be nice. >> come on. >> but particularly for sun take. >> i know. >> don't get nervous just yet we are a few days away. we are watching a storm system, but yeah there could be showers around. if it doesn't rain it will be cool, breezy. it will feel like fall. >> if you don't like the weather, just stay tuned. >> yes that is how we roll here in the delaware valley. it looks great. we have gorgeous sunrise shaping up in 20 minutes. we are seeing good color out there with the clear skies. look at the temperatures, though, 50's and 40's in the suburbs to 60 degrees in center city. we have jacket weather in some of the suburbs.

us i will let you know that the roadways are certainly heating up. you can see i-95 southbound is just moved past girard, you can see plenty of vehicles on the the roadway now, we are starting to travel less than posted speeds, on many main interstates and highways. i-95 southbound around cottman is also getting very, very busy. another place that i look around, you can see just kind of your normal, this is schuylkill eastbound, your normal pressure starting to build as we are pushing toward that rush hour of 7:00 o'clock. the most of these are just starting to slow down a little bit. just make note, give yourself couple extra minutes. and of course pope is coming so we have road closures. let me back out of the way and take a peak of this remember septa buses are detouring around the parkway so check your schedules there. and then also these are major road closures you want to necessity about, ben franklin parkway between logan square and art museum, kelly drive between parkway and fairmount avenue, spring garden street between pennsylvania avenue

and kelly drive, ladies, over to you. >> more preparations are underway ahead of the pope's visit the to philadelphia. >> overnight crews are putting up concrete barriers around saint charles seminary on, city avenue. traffic in that area may ab expected until next week. seminary is where pope francis is staying during his visit to the city. the philadelphia parking authority continues to toe more cars ahead of the papal visit n olde city tow trucks started to remove cars illegally parked in security zones between third and 12th street. the residents can purchase a parking plaquard that will allow them to park in the garage. that plaquard gives resident until tomorrow to move their cars. septa is asking commute tours see the pope, just be patient. transit agency expects rider ship to double on saturday and triple on sunday. septa is making 2,000 work's available to answer questions and also, to make sure platforms don't get overcrowded. it is start of the have day weekend for students in the philadelphia school

officially welcoming francis to our nation's capitol today. francis will begin his first full day on u.s. soil with a grand arrival ceremony on the white house lawn, filled by a private meeting with president obama. >> it is not a meeting between politicians but rather an opportunity for two respected world leaders with significant influence around the globe to spend time talking about the values they hold in common. >> reporter: thousands will line the streets from thee lips to the national mall just to catch a glimpse of the pope. emily, will get to see him up close. the 23 year-old soprano is one of the 90 choir members tapped to sing for pope francis. and remember everything that i have learned in all of high school to try to do my absolute best. >> conductors, chose singers to reflect diversity of the catholic church in the u.s.
