the pope's arrival. chopper three above the ben franklin parkway tonight where the lights are on and the workers are burning the midnight oil. parkway is before the pope will celebrate mass on sunday. the pontiff will give a speech saturday outside independence hall and it was a similar scene there tonight. the hall is a blaze in lights so construction can keep moving forward. when pop joan paul ii was in philadelphia in 1979 of course the internet did not exist. this time of course it does and as a result we've learned that there's a lot of curiosity from one town in the suburbs about this historic visit. here "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt. >> reporter: while much of the focus will be on the scene for the papal visit pope francis has some curious fans in the subur suburbs. according to google the most pope francis google searches in america come from not new york or philadelphia bala kin wide specifically held the top spot on wednesday. >> good feeling for many, many people. >> reporter: of course it's possible some of those searches came from just outside the limits of bala cynwyd i'm spoke

>> septa is helping papal pilgrims deal with congestion at the regional rail stations. estimated 20,000 people will board en route to philadelphia for the papal visit. but here's the thing. there's only 600 parking spots. so septa is encouraging pilgrims to get a ride to the station. employees will be guessing out water and snacks to those standing in what's expected to be long lines. approximate turn around of approximately every half an hour moving about a thousand people give or take. >> seems like a big catholic block party. we're all in the same boat. maybe some extra blessings will be accept our way. send them to paoli. (laughter). we could use it. >> if you drive don't park at nearby businesses your car will be towed. to stay on top of any traffic issues the city of philadelphia has unveiled a text alert system for use during the world meeting of families and the papal visit. you can sign up by texting papal visit all one word to 888777.

obtained this cell phone video from a witness who chose not to be identified. he says it shows a police involved shooting that's now under investigation. you hear officers continuously asking the wheelchair bound man to drop the gun and put your hands up. wilmington police say just after 3:00 p.m. police units responded to the area of tulip and south scott street in reference to male with a possible self inn nicked gunshot wound. police say they found the man in the 1800 block of tulip street. officers say he was armed with a handgun. a mirror, initially called police after hearing gunfire outside of his business. >> second time we come out we see the guy. handicapped, shooting in the air, nothing. we call the police. police hand up he no listen. one police come here. shoot him. >> reporter: she will casings

medical school. kids out on the soccer field. blue sky as far as the eye can see. not cloud in the sky and then look at this beautiful sunset that sets up. tomorrow very similar to today. so that's good news. but here's our problem child. this storm centered off the coast of the carolinas. right now it's well off to the south. but you can see the cloud bank associated with this lifting all the way up into portions of virginia at the moment. so even if we don't get into the rain, we definitely will see the clouds increase as this storm moves up the coast. high pressure to the north you'll see that northeast wind resume much like what we felt on monday and tuesday of this week and temperatures will stay below average. speaking of cool temperatures, take look at these numbers already right now 57 in reading. 57 in allentown we're down to 55 in millville. and 66 in philadelphia. we can expect widespread 50s maybe even 40s in a few spots to our north and west through the overnight hours tonight. certainly up in the poconos. so a cool night, good night to maybe leave the windows open let's let the breeze blow in if you like that. 57 degrees overnight mainly

clear. thursday great mostly sunny another very nice day above average by five or situation degrees. getting to 81 for the high on thursday. so two scenarios for the system this weekend. start with the european model. two main models we look at a bunch of others we look at as well. the two, first the european model high pressure to the north this is saturday at 3:00 p.m. by the way here's the storm just off the coast. what happens we get a cloud cover on saturday. then the rain still off to the south. this is sun today morning at 9:00 a.m. and the rain pretty much stays away from us as a that storm sips offshore. may clear the skies in time for that lunar eclipse on sunday night. the high stays stronger the rain misses us to the south cool cloudy and breezy but the gfs model riding this rain train for over a week now. can't really ignore it. saturday at 6:00 o'clock a few showers already trying to creep in. and then on sunday morning another chance for showers before this lifts on out in the gfs model the high not as strong. the coastal low is stronger and that means showers will slip

further to the north. so right now our papal visit forecast here it is 74 degrees on saturday. breezy. and cool sunday, 72 with the chance for a shower.
