"eyewitness news" cameras captured boxes of left over inventory piled high inside the store this morning. similar scene played out for businesses across the city, many restauranters said they prepared for a big weekend with lackluster results. "eyewitness news" reporter greg argos is live tonight where some business owners are trying to figure out what to do with all of the food were it goes bad, greg. >> reporter: that is the big question, what happens to that food. we are here at cuba libre, a few hours before the dinner rush and it is very expected here but what was not expected was a very similar scene over the papal weekend.

invite to you share your pictures and special moments with us, just use the hashtag cbs philly pope. in other news tonight we are learning more this evening about a forklift accident that left a child, dead in philadelphia. it happened on the 6100 block of tacony avenue at newman paper company. that is where "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson joins us to tell us more, steve. >> reporter: ukee, it is an all day struggle for answers for family of a 13 year-old boy who snuck in the warehouse behind me, and was killed, in that forklift accident but as that struggle continued we spoke with one of the children that snuck in with him and watched his friend die. >> the emotions came in waves, first sadness. >> i'm hurt, i'm angry, i'm upset. he was only 13. >> reporter: and anger. >> angry because this building, it is left in shambles. >> reporter: victim's uncle john grogan says he is upset with the owners of this

building for not to go enough to secure property from curious kids and that his nephew is dead because of it. >> maybe my nephew would still ab alive today. >> reporter: family identifies the victim as 13 year-old ethan shoemaker. ethan and five friend broke into this warehouse owned by paper manufacturer newman and company one of the teens tells cbs-3 they exploited an opening at 9:00 sunday night and slipped through an unlock door. he said keys were already in four forklifts and that the kid drove around until a 13 year-old girl smashed hers into ethan. the boy you are about to hear is within of the child operator. >> the swerved, and then the forklift tipped over and his hand got cut right near the bar. >> reporter: you saw that. >> yeah, i saw it. >> reporter: what were you doing in there. >> messing around, driving a forklift. >> reporter: why would you be doing that why would you break in the place and drive a forklift. >> i don't know. >> reporter: no answer for that, no way to rewine the the

night, no way to bring his friend back. and as you can see now, friend gathered at the scene and they are starting a memorial there as police continue their investigation, into the meantime, the the family is leveeing some pretty serious claims against the company. we will have more from that family and more on the company's response, both at 6:00 o'clock. for now we are live in tacony, steve paterson for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". well, police in montgomery county of identified the the victim in the deadly home invasion, in lower moreland. five three-year old kevin brown died last night after he was shot by an intruder on philmont avenue. district attorney tells us his wife jumped out of the window to escape and he followed. he tied later on his lawn. three of the couple's children hid during the attack and were not harmed. police believe the family was targeted. there are no suspects in custody. "eyewitness news" on the scene of the deadly stabbing on solly avenue in philadelphia's fox chase neighborhood. we are told a 25 year-old

pilgrims who traveled from north carolina, to see pope francis arrived back home this morning. this group from charlotte diocese spent four days taking part in the papal weekend festivity. they didn't let big crowd discourage them from being able to see, pope francis, celebrate mass on the parkway. >> it was just like going to the shrine, the time when we saw him in the pope mobile, you know, in the jeep mobile, and, just for him to see that face. >> pilgrims return home with a lifetime and luggage full of

i'm ukee washington. here's is what happening, a big clean up operation continues tonight on the ben franklin parkway following the successful visit of pope francis. workers spent the day removing barricades and cleaning up a lot of trash. a child was killed in the tacony section of philadelphia, after police say he was pinned underneath a forklift. the family of the rick tim has identified him as ethan shoemaker. the the investigation continues. a five three-year old man is dead after he was shot during a home invasion in lower moreland montgomery county. no suspects are in custody at this time. police believe that this family was targeted, kate. and it is going to be a very stormy week, unsettled weather in the forecast and much cooler weather as well but we have two round of rain. first is tuesday night into wednesday, heavy rain on the

you can see things are still dry. there are a few showers in a couple spots, chester county seeing a couple sprinkles right now, a a few down in eastern maryland and lehigh valley. not a huge deal here tonight but watch out for a few scattered showers tonight and into tomorrow. now what we have to watch out for is larger scale system in play a lieutenant of moisture heavy rain over carolinas in spots and certainly down into western florida. is there a front sweeping down from the great lakes, and that will eventually combine to produce a very, very enhanced rainfall risk late tuesday night into wednesday. we will take a closer look at a moment. first temperatures you can see how warm. 80 degrees at steve schwartz house in bensalem. we are checking with our weather watchers. ill william howell is at 80. andy sea gull in dover delaware is at 77 degrees. nice and warm. notice throughout overnight hours. few sprinkles. not a big deal. otherwise mostly cloudy. tomorrow same story. thinks noon time tomorrow. clouds, a few breaks of sun, scattered showers, that is the the story for tomorrow. watch what happened as we get

in the overnight hours. again a few showers tuesday evening, and then overnight, it is when heavier rain will fall. this is midnight tuesday night into wednesday. heavy rain through the lehigh valley and north and western suburbs. the bulk of this will lift north here but a soaking certainly for our north and western suburbs and then that moves out. best chance for rain this week at least through the workweek is on wednesday. 90 percent chance. still a chance for scattered showers every day. thinks tropical depression number 11. this is something to watch. look at what our hurricane models do with this storm a lot of them bringing it right into our area with the impacts, meaning heavy rain, gusty wind and beach erosion as we head into saturday. we will have more at 6:00. quick look at the forecast mostly cloudy and muggy, 69 degrees, and seven day keeps it warm tomorrow and look at how cool it is, heavy rain tuesday night into wednesday, and then another threat for that saturday. more on that at 6:00. for now, jessica and ukee, back to you. on the cbs-3 healthwatch a new study find many women with early stage breast cancer may not need chemotherapy.
