5:18 pm
we do need rain. anything that falls tonight and tomorrow morning is beneficial rain and mostly overnight. it is best case scenario. problem is what comes in a couple days. lets look outside and see what is happening this evening. we will go outside first to a very glummy looking evening, in rehoboth beach, delaware where it is foggy, cloudy, it does still look dry. those board don't look wet to me. some people are walking and getting their jogs in and outdoor exercise in before having to take it to the gym next couple of days because of the wet weather we have in the forecast. take a look, you can see a wall of green across much of the northeast, in fact you can see showers that came through earlier, and very heavy downpours and blinding rain on 76 earlier today. i drove through it. that is moving off to the north. back west we still have a decent amount of rain. i want to show you this heavy rain lifting to the north but notice how it is backpedaling to the west. watch rain south the of d.c. it looks lake heavier rain will stay to the north and west but heavier showers will come through philadelphia area

5:20 pm
night, and cooler air moves in as well. joaquin is strengthening. 65-mile an hour wind at the moment. it is expect to form in the category one hurricane by tomorrow afternoon but this keeps it off shore, however it could throw some moisture back. we will talk about joaquin in the next half an hour but expect heavy rain, gusty wind and beach erosion, rough surf and coastal flooding. so overnight cloudy, showers, heavier rain north and west. that last into your wednesday morning. wednesday's mostly cloudy and we will get to around 78 degrees if we get peaks of sun in the afternoon. much cooler thursday, still windy, rain returns, thursday evening and then it looks like all day friday, all day saturday, and possibly all day sunday, band of heavy rain, wind driven rain, and, down the shore it could be more coastal impacts. that is a problem it looks like a prolong rain event, while we need rain you never knee quite that much that fast. >> that is cold rain too. >> yes. >> thanks, kate, appreciate it. as we continue, fbi is
