>> good morning, we're following breaking news right now. two police officers in the hospital this morning after an overnight crash. we'll have more on what happened and those officers's conditions coming up in a live report and also a double shooting overnight in the fair hills section of philadelphia. two young men were shot. one is dead. what police know about what happened. and the time for alleged attack on philadelphia university has passed after a threat was pos posted online. schools, though, are still on high alert. we'll tell you how they're beefing up security. >> good morning, tuesday, october 6, i'm erika von tiehl, let's get a quick check on the roads. little cold out there i think we're warming up later, good morning, guys. >> tuesday, already, where did monday go. roads are good. we're dealing with overnight

construction project but roads are looking good. it's feeling chilly again this morning. >> just like the roads it looks like weather will be quiet today. clearing the skies out nicely allows temperatures to drop this morning. widespread 40s. throw your jacket on before you head out the door. still 52 at the airport. 44 allentown, mid 40s in reading and upper 40s wilmington. dover, delaware checking in at 49. check out suburbs to the north. quaker up to, 41 this hour. it's possible we drop another couple degrees before sunrise. we could dip into upper 30s in some of the coldest spots early this morning. part of the reason for drop in temperatures. wins are going calm as storm systems move far enough offshore. clear skies, calm winds, all that cold air is able to settle down at the surface. nothing happening on storm scan three. lots of sunshine in the forecast today and through the rest of the week.

progress to the morning. if it doesn't get cleaned out of the way we see problems. vines look going. quiet. i showed this picture yesterday at the same time. that's good for monday and tuesday being monday and tuesdays are typically busier travel days of the workweek. collegeville, accident, overturned vehicle route 29 park avenue. one lane blocked and one more accident i'll tell you about in a few minutes. erika, back to you. >> miesha, thank you. >> two philadelphia police officers injured after this serious crash. you see damage to the front of suv as folks investigate. heading outside to eyewitness news justin in south philadelphia, justin, good morning. . >> erika, good morning, those officers are undergoing treatment as we speak. officials are preparing that vehicle for tow. calls about the wreck came in 2:00 this morning and responding officers arrived to find that suv with heavy front

end damage and two officers in need of urgent care. now, police tell us this is a single vehicle wreck involving two twelfth district officers one male and one female. we're told the male officer was driving and female officer was in front passenger seat the vehicle appears to have been traveling west on bartram avenue not far from holestein taken crashed into a tree. the cause of that is unclear. we're told the driver suffered neck and back injuries and female officers suffered injuries including broken leg and both were type penn presbyterian. we learned that accident investigators goyl to the hospital to interview officers once they're able to speak. now back out live again that vehicle had front end danl to the car and dashboard also very damaged as well. we're told police are also looking into when a mechanical malfunction caused this wreck. you may see closures on bartrum

between essington and island avenues. we're live in southwest philadelphia, justin finch, cbs3, eyewitness news. >> meanwhile, new this morning mornings, police are investigating a car accident in philadelphia east mt. airy neighborhood. two cars collided at thornton avenue and uphill street after 11. a woman and child were taken to the hospital for their injuries. both are now listed in stable condition. and philadelphia police investigating a deadly overnight shooting in the city fairhill section. it took place on the 2700 block of north 8th street before 2 a.m. police say two men in thirteens or early 20s were shot. one died and the other was taken to temple hospital. his condition sun known. so far, there are no motives or suspects. >> also, this morning an online threat on local university passes. but, students and officials remain on high alert. security is tight at temple and other campuses in the area. with extra police on patrol and at building entrances. the threat was posted

anonymously on the four khan web site that same site warned of shooting in northwest before oregon shootings. >> i don't want anything to happen. >> and my third class was cancelled. >> authorities are working to track the ip address to find a computer that threat came from. however, cyber security experts say an experienced hacker could mask that. >> a deadly crash now between a van and septa trolley bus in frankford. this happened at penn and eric street last night. the van rear ended that trolley bus. driver of the van was killed. the passenger in that van was taken to the hospital. there were 19 passengers on board the trolley bus all requested medical attention at the scene. >> a chester county mother is behind bars this morning facing disturbing charges of child abuse involving her daughter. 34-year-old jessica ri is ssy of honeybrook admitted to supplying and injecting her 1

14-year-old daughter and 1 16-year-old boy with heroin. she is facing felony child abuse and drug charges. district attorney says this is a case of child abuse unlike anything he's ever seen. >> as a parent you exist to protect your children. and not only was this monday exposing her kids to a dangerous substance she was participating in getting her addicted to heroin. that's outrageous. >> bond is set at $50,000. police are looking for riffy's boyfriend jamison burns. district attorney says burns helped supply the heroin. >> the woman convicted of abducting a young girl from her school and molester her will spend the next 40 years behind bars. he claimed to be the five-year-old girl's mother when she took her from an elementary school in january 2013 and sexually abused that child. yesterday in court rugesters

this is accident involving a police car you can see it south philly bartram avenue and holestein. part of bartram it blocked. you see this does look like a serious accident. use your caution if you are in and around this area. it's not been cleared yet as of now and i'll back out of the way to see this. we have flashing lights and crews on sight and again that's involving a police car with that many people out on the vehicles on the roadways you certainly want to use your best caution. here's a look where we have construction 95 northbound and southbound direction between girard and vine and two lanes blocked right and center lane and also 95 south on ramp girard is closed due to this construction. make note of that as well and also construction on woodhaven westbound between roosevelt boulevard and evans street use alternate such as byberry road. all right, justin head ago way from all the flashing lights and business of roadways and let's talk weather. >> chilly this morning. you may need coat or hot beverage to keep you warm.
