one day more of the seasonable temperatures it, will get breezy, cooler, though, saturday, with highs in the 50's, and yes, frost, freeze, we've got to look out for that when talking about temperatures that could be in the 30's, especially sunday night. so, current lip, not there yet. looking good. 54 degrees in center city, wind out of the southwest at about 6 miles per hour, in fact, take a look at the winds everywhere. i just want to point out wildwood starting to get a breeze at 14 miles per hour, knowledge pocono getting more of northerly flow there at about 12 miles per hour, so some spots breezy. we do have front tracking through, few showers ahead of it. see just few sprinkles trying to make their way toward us, i think at best it will be a little shower, it will be quick, it will be out of here. but we work our way up to high of 67 degrees, even get some sunshine in this afternoon, which will be nice, but here's the difference, the successive colds fronts coming through knock the temperatures down, into the 50's, saturday and sunday, so breezy, cool saturday, with a high of 57. and in the, 52 sunday, but look at the overnight low. sunday, into monday, 37 degrees. now, the last time we had a

cool temperature like that, was april 25th. so, to say that this is a little bit early, is correct, we usually see the temperatures more in the mid november time frame. but, yes, no one asked if we were rid. we will be seeing that this weekend. so, just take a deep breath. know that today will be great. i don't think you need the umbrella unless you are headed out the door right now, and looking good. let's head over to vittoria see how we are doing on the roads, friday's sometimes not so bad, right? people are not as active. >> i would say the mentality not so bad. because folks are excited it is a friday. that's what we have to look forward to. so maybe not so much aggressive driving. right now the roads are still fairly quiet. unfortunately on the schuylkill westbound, we do have incident that had occurred not too long ago. we found that one of our cameras here, passyunk, so westbound on the schuylkill expressway, you will see this incident compromising two of the inner merging lanes, so, do you want to be careful if you are headed around this area at south philadelphia, making your way into the city,

or your western suburbs. speaking of western suburbs, on 422, we do have some construction happening around the trooper road area. just be mindful that we have some guys and gals in the hard hats here, they were at one point blocking this ramp from 422 to trooper. it does look like they've reopened it. but still, just be careful that you may have to do some maneuvering in the area. also, chestnut at front, still closed, that's the old city bridge. because they found a crack in the pier, so as pendot continues to assess that situation, it could potentially be closed, as they move into the weekend. so, this weekend, also this morning, plan to take either market or walnut, all traffic right now being divert shall onto front street. no delays for mass transit. nicole? >> vice president biden still deciding whether to run for president, but as don champion reports, a top advise or from delaware, says biden? soon make up his mind. >> have you made your decision yet? >> while the vice president continues dodging questions about a presidential run,

behind the scenes, it appears an announcement could be imminent. one of his top political advisors, former delaware senator ted koffman, sent letter to former biden staffers. in it koffman said biden is, quote, aware of the practical demands of making a final decision soon, and that if he runs, quote, we will need each and everyone of you yesterday. >> i just think he needs to decide what is best for him and his family. >> on the campaign trail, some democrats fear biden waited too long. hillary clinton has new energy, following his strong debate performance. thursday in san antonio she passionately touched on one of her key debate topics, gun violence. >> i will not be silenced and we will not be silenced. we must continue to speak out. >> we're going to build the wall. >> on the republican side, two frontrunners have threatened to boycott their next debate. in a letter to cnbc donald trump and ben carson said they would not participate in part if the debate lasted more than

two hours. for which, rifle carly fiorina took a jab at the men. >> i'm off in three hours, apparently don't have the endurance to go to the distance. >> debate september for october 28th. done champion, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> all right, 5:34 right now. israeli officials are bracing for what could be another day of violence. more troops are being deployed to it border gaza, a mid palestinian calls for mass protest. authorities are also banning young muslim men from entering the revered mossing in jerusalem at the center of the increased violence. in the last two weeks, dozens of palestinians and several israelis have died. >> philadelphia police hope surveillance video will help them catch the thief who roughed up and robbed a generous man in center city. you hate to see this. this is video shot tuesday night, around 10:45, from the 1300 block of locust street. now, police say the suspect asked the 69 year old victim for money. when the man tries to give him a dollar, the suspect pushes him to the grounds and steels

his wallet. if you recognize the suspect, you're asked to call police. >> well two, men charged in the beating after gay couple in center city last september, have agreed plea deal. philip williams and kevin harrigan won't serve jail time, but they are on probation for three-five years, lan serve 200 hours of community service at a lgbt organization. the third suspect, kathryn knott, reject add plea deal and will go onto trial. one of the beating victims was left with a broken jaw that doctors wired shut while it healed. >> it is 5:35 right now n business news this morning, mcdonald's workers don't like the all day breakfast idea. i think they are the only ones. money watch's jill wagner joins us live from the new york stock exchange with more about what's not to like. jill, good morning. >> reporter: i mean, i'm loving it, but i guess i'm not making the food. good morning, nicole. we'll see if wall street can build on yesterday's rally, do you jumped 217 points. nasdaq finished 87 points higher. so new economic data shows that inflation felt, which some investors think could

make the fed hold off on raising interest rates. low inflation, also watching third time in 40 years, no increase in social security benefits next year. the government says the lower cost of gas is keeping inflation down. it will be costing more to send holiday gift this year. ups is raising rates by about 5%. that start october 26th. the company says it needs that rate hike to cover rising labor and equipment costs. yahoo meanwhile is trying to phase out passwords. this is all an effort to enhance security. the mobile e-mail app will now let users sign in by pressing a notification sent to their smart phones, instead of typing in a password. all right, and one group that's not loving mcdonald's all day breakfast, the workers, some franchises that new menus reportedly creating chaos in the kitchen. it is slowing down service, plus some franchises say they're making less money. that's bus custom remembers getting less expensive breakfast items at dinnertime.

"eyewitness news" reporter jen carabeo live at the ardmore firehouse with more on their recruiting effort. going on line, jan, good morning. >> reporter: nicole, good morning. now there is fire company is just one of seven fire companies, within the lower merion fire department. there was a time, where you didn't need to ask for volunteers, they just showed up at the doors here, but the numbers are dwindling, the issue they have a lot of history at this particular fire company there is 1125 years old. and, some volunteers have been here since the 19 60s. but, as those volunteers

retire, the other companies in this township, they need to replentish their ranks, so they are looking for a few good men and women. >> for now, relative calm at the merion fire company of ardmore. just truck and equipment checks. but when the horns sound, these are the people who, no matter what, answer the call. >> when our page remembers activated we drop what we're doing, get in the cars, go to the firehouse, grab our gear, go to the scene. >> it takes a special person to be able to juggle everything that they have to do in their personal life and the firehouse. >> over the last 25 years, the number of emergency calls has doubled for the lower merion fear department. but volunteer numbers continue to drop. >> the volunteer fire service is in a crisis today. the companies are down at least one third to half of where they were from when i started. it is tough. i mean, people's family dynamic, work structures, have all changed within the last 30 years. >> there are seven independent companies within the lower

merion fire department. members respond to emergencies, just like this one, the great majority of these firefighters are volunteers. >> might not even be aware that their local company is partially mostly or 100% volunteer. >> so, change that perception, banners and signs are all over the township, urging people to answer the call, become a volunteer. over at the gladwynn fire company, there is even a cadet program for 14 year old. >> and what makes these fire companies so amazing is you can walk into a fire company and see a 14 year old, who is just as interested as the 80 year old who required 25 years ago. >> to start, no experience is necessary. volunteers are fully and highly trained. could you fine yourself at a scene like this, merion fire companies saving this man's life, trapped in his car for nearly ten hours. >> when we make a rescue, when we put out a fire, go to somebody's house, that's what it is all about.

>> braking news, abduction ends with a crash in north philadelphia. police telling "eyewitness news", an exboyfriend abducted his exgirlfriends, and he's now in police custody. >> also, police are looking for this suspect if the stabbing of a wal-mart worker at philadelphia mills. investigators say, it happened when the worker asked to see his receipt for a big screen tv and some other item. the employee suffered minor injuries. >> and, the end after era in aviation. the final us airways flight leaves philadelphia for san francisco, this morning, the airbus 8321 will receive to philly tomorrow under the american airlines banner, signalling the compression of that airline merger. >> in sport now, the baseball season is down to just four teams. and tonight the american league championship series gets underway with the blue jays, in kansas city. last night in los angeles, the met made their reservations for the national league championship series. daniel murphy put the meds ahead to stay with six inning homerun here the mets beat la3-two, new york hoses the cubs in the nlcs game one tomorrow night.

>> well, a lot of people still talking about jose bautista's epic bat flick after he hit this monsterous homerun in the playoffs, game winning homer sent toronto to the american league championship series, big deal here, now that moment has been immortalized forever. yep. blue jays fan actually got a tatoo of the bat flip yesterday. yep, did he it. bautista tweet add picture and wrote quote i've heard and seen crazy stuff in the last 24 hours, but this one takes the prize homement talk about a diehard fan a tatoo of the bat flip. craze. >> i stop what you're doing, take a look at this, it could be the play of the year when it comes to college football right there. sanford wide receiver francis somehow made that incredible touchdown catch pink the ball against the defender's back. it is worth another look, right? let's let this play out. i'm not sure he even saw the because but managed to hold the ball for the 41-yard score and of course the play of the day.

nice little hug there. and a night, nice touchdown. oh, goodness, that's toking see. hey a lot of kids are hoping to cash in with candy on halloween night, right? now we're finding out where the best places are to go trick-or-treating, very important, earlier this week, we told you real estate website sill owe ranked philadelphia as 13th best city to collect candy. well, they just broke it down to the best neighborhoods in the city, and fairmount, spring garden actually comes out on top. right around here. chestnut hill is second, that's followed by cedar park and mt. airy. ranked based on how you can get the most candy in the quickest time in the safest areas. so that kind of makes sense, you know, the row homes make it nice and easy, i grew up in west philly it was like all of the homes were so close together, you just, i mean, you made a hall. you know? now, if you found full size candy bars, now, that is serious. you remember that house. >> jackpot. >> i feel like we should maybe be giving out canned nip our neighborhood for halloween? maybe that's something we should be doing here. >> of course, should, yes, come trick-or-treating at

cbs-3. >> i wonder wonder if my eyewits weather watchers will be did he dressing up for halloween. good morning, cool temperatures out there, 48 degrees where bill is in cardington. he says crisp for this morning, he's got low dew point at 45, as well. 46 degrees for mark, good morning to mark, in chatsworth, and certainly few clouds out there, too, looks like he's got little more cloud cover. he said cloud cover overnight but the temperatures kept them really from falling. and that's true. it does sometimes help out with that. let's take a look at one more, 49 degrees, my 40's club, good morning shall barbara in willow grove. you have got relatively clear skies out there. so not bad. here is the thing. dough have little rain off to the wells. bringing some of the clouds in. as you can see, this is really falling apart. it doesn't have much moisture with it. so i think at best a sprinkle for us, then out of here. in fact, looking at future weather see it is exactly what happens. it clears out. then we get some sunshine in as we head toward the afternoon. rest of the day looking pretty good. temperatures not bad either. take you hour by hour, high of

about 67 today. and again, that sunshine this afternoon will make it pretty nice out there. currently temperatures little cooler than that, though, 48 degrees mount pocono becomes 54 in philadelphia, 59 in atlantic city, and we're going to see cold air funnel in. we've got two successive cold fronts will knock the cold air in, and we will see the coldest air of the season as we head toward the weekend. how cold? well, we are talking 50's, as we get into saturday, sunday, for our highs, far cry from the lovely 60s we've been seeing. so weekend high 57. saturday, 52, sunday, that's where we should be about mid-november. than is what really concerns me. we've got cold temperatures, in the over night lows saturday into sunday, and sunday into monday. if you are headed out to see the eagles this weekend also mention it will be chilly everybody. it is a 8:30 p.m. game. 44 degrees what we are expecting. vittoria, headed out to the game, that's when you put the new coat on, zip it all the way up to the neck. >> that's right, when i used to cheer for the eagles, we had warm's -- ers underneath

our under arm ers, it was freezingment unfortunately on serious note, westbound on the schuylkill expressway, we have accident situation here. right at the entrance to the westbound schuylkill from 26th street. so, right in south philadelphia, as you will notice, emergency teams on scene, the ramp is not blocked. so you can still access the schuylkill expressway from here at 26th street. what do we have here? now that i am looking at that time it looks like they may have stopped traffic as of right now, and folks are just getting by on the shoulder. so what this could mean, yep, emergency teams will swing around. and potentially maybe tow this vehicle out of the way or just turn around and assist more on this incident. regardless on the westbound side of the schuylkill expressway at 26th street, that ramp there, right at passyunk, we are dealing with a pretty serious situation that is going to affect traffic in a big way. we will continue to keep you updated on that, we do have rush hour, barely forming, on 95, right around girard avenue. so, still pretty quiet out there with the exception of the schuylkill, we will keep our eyes on it, no delays for

mass transit. >> ♪ what's the word ♪ >> a new episode of the hit drama blue blood airs tonight here on cbs-3, so, i asked actor tom celek about this week's episode, and what plot twist fans can expect to this season. take a look. >> i don't know where the writers are going, we've done about eight of them. but if i had a surprise, or a plot twist, i don't think i would tell you, nicole. >> i had a sneaking suspicion. >> i want -- i don't want to give anything away. there is a lot -- always a certain amount of surprises. >> you mention that it was a character driven show, frank reagan, of course, is the character you play. i know you've had a lot of success, you know, on the small screen, on the big screen. where does this fall in that? what is it like to play frank reagan? >> well, i love playing him. i love the responsibility of playing him. it is very hard to communicate to an audience it, the shear burden, the weight that's on
