the battle for first place, with the archrival. details coming up. good morning, it is monday, october 19th, i'm erika von tiehl. big story today i think just that cold, you wake up, go you outside, doesn't feel like fall any more, like the dead every winter. we check in with justin and meisha. >> good morning, happy monday to both of you. time to turn on the heat. but it sound like justin that will be casino of warming up throughout the week. i'll let you touch base on, that roadways looking good. we did have frost out there, justin, like you said earlier, but overall things looking prep good on the roadways, how is it looking outside? >> cold. but not harsh wind to deal with. lots of sunshine this afternoon, so overall the forecast pretty good today except little on the chilly side. don't wore at this does warm up later in the week looking for milder temperatures, but the freeze warning states in effect for the entire delaware valley this goes until 9:00 this morning, many suburbs well below freezing at this hour. still sitting at 36 at the airport, 28 in millville.

justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> just not right, justin, only october. come on, thanks so much. new this morning, in port richmond, where it appears somebody intentionally set fire to at least two cars overnight. we can show you part of the car there, it was charred, right, there around the gas tank. says the call came in just after 3:00 a.m. neighbors near the intersection of janney street and east tioga told "eyewitness news", someone stuffed several rags in the gas tanks then lit them. also told one of the neighbors ran out of the house, grabbed a garden hose, quickly doused the flames. quick thinking. fire marshall is investigating. >> driver is seriously hurt after his vehicle slams into the back after tow truck in south philadelphia. the accident happened around 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of penrose and paterson avenues. the injured man was taken to the hospital with unstable vital signs. police have not released his identity.

overnight firefighters still dearing with minor flare ups at the huge fire at the montgomery county country club. destroyed nearby 100 year old clubhouse. officials say fire broke out in the basement, quickly spread throughout the entire building. members say this lost hit them hard. >> we've eaten dinner over here, we've attended parties, you know, my family swam at the pool, down the street here, but yes, absolutely, it has been a spectacular building. it has a lot of memories. >> the investigation continues. but the fire marshall says the fire did not appear to be intentionally set. >> philadelphia police are asking for the public's help in low catting a missing west philadelphia woman. forty-six year old tanya keno last seen one week ago at family member's house on the 6,000 block of cedarhurst street. keno has the mental capacity after young child, and suffers from schizophrenia, and by bipolar disorder, prone to

epileptic seizures, last seen wearing a sun dress and sneaker. >> snakes on a bus. no, not samuel jackson movie, it is what happened when boa constrictor got loose and forced septa passengers to evacuate. "eyewitness news" reporter rahel solomon shows us how life really does imitate art on wheels instead of wings. >> it was a harrowing ordeal. sunday afternoon, for passengers on the route 52 bus. >> she got under the seat in the bus. she got stuck in there. >> this two and a half foot boa con stick shore somehow slithered away from owner koran really. koran said she was supposed to be tucked in his pock when he realized she was loose. >> everything freaked out. >> bus evacuate the at 52nd and westminster while septa police caught the snake. it was in a compartment under a seat. >> they got it. >> overcome with relief at the safe return, koran immediately hugged the brave officers and even our cameraman.

england, over the ocean, so we will see improvement as far as the temperatures go. then the jet stays to the north through the end of the week. that means milder temperatures, return to our forecast, that will be the trends, as we head into the weekend as well. but the forecast high today still cooler than average, 54 degrees for the high temperature, and then tonight, not quite as cold, 41 for center city still lower 30's in the colder suburbs, and then the eagles forecast kick off at 8:30, dress warm, 44 degrees, at 8:30, and then drops few more degrees by the end of the game. don't worry, though, lot of sunshine this week, look at that, low mid 70s for wednesday, thursday, so we go from weather to shorts? i don't know. >> 20 degrees? >> heatwave. how about that? >> it happens. >> just regular fall weather would be nice, you know? >> never happens around here, you know? >> i know, what are you going do? >> i'll take the 70s, flight. >> we will take the 70s on thursday. >> good morning, roads looking really good. still early, little after 6:00. i'll tell you the morning rush has been looking good, just heating up early in the

5:00 hour, slow downs on 95, certainly seeing that right now, all of the overnight construction project are getting out of our way. take a look, 95 southbound at cottman, area i always watch starting in the early hours. still looking pretty busy. pretty much bumper it bumper. you are seeing tail light go off most definitely on 95 southbound, you are no longer traveling at posted speeds, so give yourself couple every extra minute, if you have to travel in and around the area. another look, the look at the schuylkill eastbound, at city avenue. once you get off of the roosevelt boulevard, moving in the southbound direction and on to the westbound direction, of 76, looking busy, over here, going casino every behind those trees, but moving in the eastbound direction, toward center city, you're slowing down just a little bit. accident in cheltenham, washington lane at township lane road. blocking one lane in this area, now you are still traveling around posted speeds there, but just make note it is there in montgomery county, another accident, skippack pike near whitehall road, left lane block, in and around that area.

the major intersections and highways starting to travel little less than posted speeds which we're not too much after stranger to, that specially on a monday morning. looking at 422, taillights moving in the eastbound direction, this is at trooper road. and you can see traveling, snail crawl, a lot more brake lights starting to go off in most of the major road, here is another air, same thing happening, roosevelt moving in the southbound direction, just about ten minute ago, we took a peak at the schuylkill, moving in the westbound direction at city avenue where the roosevelt boulevard link up. it was looking busy there, as well. ninety-five southbound at girard, looking busy all the way down to cottman, we saw, not too long ago, and then here we do have an accident, now this is an accident in upper moreland township. all lanes block, certainly give yourself couple of extra minute this that area or avoid it altogether, also another accident, washington lane at twp. line road.

for those of you in cheltenham. all right, erika, back over to you. >> meisha, a thank you. just absolutely tragic scene in arizona as entire family of five dice after their truck plunges into a lake. police say the family's suv went into tempe town lake early sunday morning. there was group of fishermen on the other side when it happened. they told police they saw the vehicle parked near the water with its light on, then they heard loud splash. though called 911, and police dover right into the lake. >> one of the witnesses that was here fishing, he jumped into the water with our officers. again, he helped us pull these individuals out. you know, he did exactly everything we do could have asked for and more. we're grateful for him. he was concern for the victims in the vehicle and also the officers? officers recovered five bodies, the husband and wife, six month old girl, and two boys, ages two and three. police say the father was behind the wheel. they don't know if he intentionally drove into the

water. >> clean up krause in california continue to try to dig out vehicles stuck in mud slide north of los angeles. at least 30 cars, trucks, stranded right now, in the harden mud out there. after being swept off the highway, off highway 58, following heavy rains on thursday. there had been no reports of injuries, but officials are saying they are searching the vehicles for anyone possibly still trapped inside. this process they say could take days. wild fire near austin, win and dry conditions are making it difficult. so far 50 homes have been destroyed, roughly 4600 acres are now black ends as a result of the fire, and it has been burning for nearly a week. officials are now bracing foray poaching front, that is likely to boost winds, and lower humidity. >> shaping up to be eventful

y- in morning's health watch, the drug known as female viagra officially on the market. the drug is supposed to boost female low beat owe in pre menopausal women. fda approved the drug, but concerns remain over its effectiveness and side effect including low blood pressure and loss of consciousness. it is not meant to treat low beat owe in women who experience low sex drive due to anti-depressant. researchers from rowan university are developing blood test that could detect proteins associated with altzheimer's disease. they say it will help doctors diagnosis the disease early. researchers say if altzheimer's can be detected before symptoms begin, changes can be made to help slow the progression that far disease. >> well, a loft people scratching their heads about this one after seeing new gray burying fresh mcdonald's in china yes, cookie colors of
