protect the fall harvest from the cold temperatures, and blanket of snow, as women. now, no snow here thankfully we'll take it but certainly cold. good afternoon, i'm erika von tell. dealing with a unseasonably colds shot of air and the start of the week long roller coaster ride of temperatures it, just is kicking off right now, we head outside to justin who still refuses to wear a coat. but big swing in the seven day, i know, how are you doing? >> we do. not bad standing in the sunshine which i am right now. see full sun, blue skies out here, and the winds calm. so it doesn't feel that bad, but overall yes cool for this time of year, tacking highs good 12 degrees below average once again today. we woke up this morning, to 35 degrees, officially at the philadelphia international airport. but many suburbs, were down into the mid 20's, so a loft frost, hard freeze widespread freeze across the region, scraping your cars this morning. so there you go. philadelphia, 35, coldest temperature since april 1st. the record low is 29, so it can get colder but did break a record in trenton, this morning, as we did reach

27 degrees, breaking new record right there. forty-seven right now, what we're up to, slow warm up today, same deal in allentown right now, getting close to 50 in wilmington, delaware, mid 40's still in south jersey. kind of the same situation in many suburbs, right now, a loft sunshine, calm winds, now up to 50 in palmyra new jersey, so again afternoon highs today still running well below average, only made it mid 50's at best, winds pretty much calm. that's good news, so we don't have to deal with any hash, windchills, storm scan3 nice and quiet through the rest of today, mostly sunny conditions, another clear night. make up to 54, low 50's at the shore, 40's in the poconos, talk about 70s in the seven day, though details? just a few more minutes, erika, back to you. >> would love to hear more about the 70s, thank up, justin. feeling like winter wake-up call for those up and out the door early. justin finch, how people are dealing with this unseasonably cold weather. >> under a chilly pennsauken sunrise, young and old hurried

dramatic video of yesterday's huge fire at the lulu country club in glennside montgomery county. this video comes from brian sullivan and shows giant flames there tearing through the clubhouse. it opened back in 1912. the structure was just destroyed. the fire schemes to have started in a lockerroom area, but the cause remains under investigation. one of two men wanted in a deadly home invasion in dover, delaware saturday is in police custody. authorities say 23 year old matthew harrington turned himself in to buckingham township police in bucks county last night. he now awaits extra addition to face charges in delaware. a second suspect 21 year old saline shabaz of philadelphia is still at large. >> jury deliberations resume in the deadly center city building collapse trial. griffin campbell faces life in prison without parole if convicted for his -- for the demolition. his company performed at 22nd and market in june 2013. a wall collapsed on to the salvation army thrift store

next-door, killing six people inside. thirteen other were hurt. >> one man is at a hospital with serious injuries after this crash in south philadelphia. his vehicle crashed into the back after tow truck near penrose and paterson avenues around 2:00 this morning. the victims identity has not been released. investigators are trying to figure out the cause of this crash. >> and philadelphia police played snake charmer, you might say yesterday, after the owner of this two and a half foot long boa constrictor he lost a snake on a septa bus. yes, the snake got away yesterday on the route 52 bus, and ride hers to get off near 52nd and westminster, while police cornered and brought the snake out. no charges have been filed so far. no one including the snake was injured. all right, later on today, another debate for two of philadelphia's candidate for mayor. democrat jim kenny and republican bailly focus on business and economic villement. two go head-to-head at temple

performing arts center at 7:30 this evening. turning to campaign 2016 democratic presidential frontrunner hillary clinton is preparing for her testimony about the benghazi attacks. meanwhile, vice president joe biden ways his options on whether to run or not. correspondent craig boswell reports from washington. >> democratic voters think hillary clinton won last week's debate. but it hasn't led to a big boost in her overall numbers. >> clinton is at 45% in the latest cnn pole. three points higher than before the debate. bernie sanders gained five points to 29%, while vice president joe biden dropped four points to 18%. 47% of democratic voters say the vice president should go ahead and jump in the race, but that's down from 53% in august. this weekend the vice president quoted his mom hinting he still had some fight in him. >> she used to say, joey, as long as you're alive you have an obligation to strive, and you are not dead until you have seen the face of god.

devices. the goal to have the registry in place by the holidays. it is estimated that 700,000 drones will be sold by the year's end. well, eagles play in prime time tonight. they face the giants at the linc. and the birds are coming off a goodwyn against the saints. but the giants, they are the winners of three straight. eagles quarterback sam bradford will try to dissect the giant's past defense, the giants are next to last in the nfl in that category. now if the eagles win tonight they would be tied with the giants for first place in the ffc east. that would be great place to be. good luck eagles. >> also, if you are watching the game from home, star wars will play a role in tonight's battle between the eagles and giants. highly anticipated trailer for star wars, the force awakens it, will premiere at half time. the movie is the seventh film in the saga of star wars in the chronology it comes right after return of the jedi. movie tickets go on sale today, and the movie comes out next month. >> and, we have another philadelphia football team attracting attention this

noon. our temple owls. they're at number 22 in the national rankings, that's the first time they've cracked the top 25 since 1979. way to go. right now, they are six and zero, and a win over east carolina on thursday will put them at seven and zero, for the first time in school history. they play the fighting irish of notre dame the following weekends, the irish right now six and one, and ranked first among independent schools. still way to go temple. coming up on "eyewitness news", the queen of media putting her weight behind a new diet plan. oprah's buying part of popular weight loss company, and will make appearances on its behalf. finds out which plan oprah is a thumbs-up. and the wedding feast was paid for and ready to go when the groom got cold feet. but, that didn't stop the bride from throwing a heck of a party with a brand new guest list. this heart-war

tonight. fourteen year old amed muhammad will take part in astrology night on the south lawn. teen arrested last month after his teacher mistook his homemade clock for possible bomb. muhammad was not charged with the incident, but did receive three day suspension from school. >> media heave heavy weight hoping to turn weight watchers around. >> oprah winfrey just purchased 10% steak in the company for $43.2 million. she's also taking a seat on its boards of directors, will make appearances on the company's behalf. pushed shares up 75% in pre-market trading. weight wolf ers shares has have been down 73% for the year. well, earlier on we mentioned you should watch for the new star wars preview during the eagles game tonight. still ahead this noon, how star wars fever is flying high in one country, it includes something never done before in the friendly skies. how is that for a tease, justin?

well, i will take the 40's over the 30's we had this morning. >> it was cold. >> and frost warnings? >> hard freeze, growing season ended across the region, so there is warming trend, though, so we go from winter coats, sweater, i guarantee people will break out the shorts when you see the forecast. cool today, a lot of sunshine, temperatures struggle to get to the mid 50's, running close, right now, seabright blue sunshine right now, few people out on the boardwalk, enjoying nice chilly walk, or

bike ride, temperatures along the coastline still looking like upper 40's, close to 50 degrees, ocean water still hanging onto 60, today, so again those milder temperatures this morning, right along the immediate coast, though did not get below freezing. so here's what's ahead. today lots of sunshine this afternoon, but again the highs struggle to get back into the mid 50's, so overall just cool day tomorrow, though, feel the difference, back into the mid 60s. >> friday into the upcoming weekend temps return back to average. nice dry stretch, as well. lot of sunshine, yesterday, 53 degrees, we will be in the 50's today, but less wind, tomorrow, mid 60s, there you go, seven 70s, wednesday, thursday. >> upper 50s in south jersey milder air to the north and west, check it out, cleveland, 51 in pittsburgh, that warmer air mass will start to work it

way eastward rapidly over the next 12-24 hours. check it out on storm scan3, high pressure dominating our weather. look at that clear skies notice the clouds over the ocean, that is showing just cool flow, aloft out of the northwest, so cold air over warmer ocean water produces the clouds off shore. that's why we have the cloudy conditions. today though again cool 50 degrees in the sunshine, more sun tomorrow, back to the mid 60s, and we keep it sunny again, wednesday and thursday, we start to see some 70s, returning to the forecast, so little bit of indian summer going on there. as far as the winds go, again, light winds today, out of the west, eventually turning little more southwesterly, so that southwest wind starts to push in warmer air. wind speeds really didn't that strong. so it is somewhat comfortable outside even now. even though those temperatures are little chilly. quiet on our future weather model, nothing happening, clear skies tonight, this is 9:00. so that's good for the eagles-giant game. it is just going to be chilly. tomorrow, yes, might find few fair weather clouds, during the afternoon. here are the temperatures, again, today, struggling to get into the 50's.

tomorrow waking up much better, maybe in the suburbs, not widespread 20's, then tuesday's highs, mid upper 60s, maybe some spots hit 07 degrees, if we see enough sun. core of the coldest air starting to exit the region, see moderating trend with the temperatures, so mild air works in for the middle of the week, overall, over the next week or two, no signs of any true cold air returning, so we will stay pretty mild, in our forecast, a lot of sunshine today, cool 54 degrees, tonight, chilly, 41, but not as cold, again, some suburbs drop to the 30's. football forecast take off 8:30 at the linc, giants, 44 degrees, so it is chilly but stays dry. winds light. here is the extended forecast, lot of sun, for the rest of the week. there are the numbers going up to low to mid 70s wednesday, thursday, cool back down to the low 60s friday and saturday in the sunshine. i think we can handle low 60s.
