from the cbs broadcast center in philadelphia. this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". tied up, stabbed and kidnapped. a community on edge, as one suspect in a violent home invasion remains at large this noon. good afternoon, i'm erika von tiehl. police are investigating a disturbing crime after three people are terrorized in a home, and one of those suspects escaped from the crime scene. this all happened on the 3100 block of f street in philadelphia's kensington

neighborhood. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff with the very latest. >> i didn't do anything wrong to anybody. i don't bother with anybody, and i keep to myself. >> this woman, who asked that we don't use her name, spoke to us from her car, just hours after two men forced her to drive into an atm where she withdrew what she could, $100. >> then told us that they would kill us after they got what they wanted. >> this complex tail of terror starts inside of a home on the 3100 block of f street where she, her boyfriends and another female friend were woken up by two intruders. >> one was armed with a hammer, one was armed with a knife. they were both wearing masks or t-shirts covering their face. >> the victim we spoke with says the men tide her boyfriends to the bed, assaulted him, and then stabbed his hand. >> a 26 year old female, they tide her up using rope and electrical cord. they tide her around her neck, and her wrists, and they tide her to a large chair.

>> but when the suspects returned with the victim from the atm, she says her friend had broken loose of those ties, her screams are what alerted police. >> the officers did a great job. they jumped into the honda, and they wrestled with the male. >> he was taken into custody. the other male ran off. >> if it wasn't for the police who came down when they did, we would have been dead. >> reporter: all throw victims were taken to the hospital, obviously that male with the most serious injuries, but all have been released and are in good condition. reporting from kensington, alexandria hoff, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". police say one bullet shot two men overnight. this happened on the 3,000 block of germantown avenue of north philadelphia. the victims drove themselves to temple university hospital where they told authorities they were shot during attempted robbery. they claim the suspect fired and that bullet traveled first through the victim's hand and then hit the second man in his hip. >> philadelphia police need your help identifying this man

and a woman. they say the suspects stole credit cards from an elderly shopper at kohl's store in andora earlier this month. they then used those credit cards to buy $3,500 worth of electronics and gift cards, from a macy's and two wawa's in northeast philadelphia. if you recognize either, that manor that woman, you are asked to call police. >> and check out this surveillance video right here. two men armed with shotguns opened fire on an atm in port richmond. this happened early sunday morning, at mink river restaurant east cambria street. the bullets damaged the atm, but, not enough for the suspects to grab any money. they got away empty-handed. an employee in the back of the store was not hurt. and, an accidental fire in a delaware motel sends two people to the hospital. chopper three over that scene at the budget motor lodge in new castle. crews responded to the fire shortly after 8:00 this morning. it was determined that the blaze started from discarded smoking material. two women were transported to the hospital for smoke

inhalation. and urgent investigation is underway to find a hacker who broke into the personal e-mail accounts of two of the nation's top national security officials. this hacker, who used the twitter handle cwa, and claims to be a teenager, breached the accounts of cia director john brennan and homeland security secretary, jay johnson. cnn spoke with a person who is taking responsibility for the hack attack. >> you claim were you able to hack the private e-mail account of the cia director. how did you do that? >> well, we did have old personal information, like his name, his address, phone number, social security number and other things. we manipulated, and reset the password on the account. >> some of the personal information released by the hacker included names and social security numbers of about 20 people said to be affiliated with the cia

director. >> the big question this noon, on everyone's minds, is vice president joe biden in or out of the presidential race? certainly taking his time making the decision. in fact, at an event this morning, with former vice president, walter mondale, he said it took a while to decide he wanted to be vice president. >> the president asked me whether i would be vetted, i said, no thank you, i don't want to be vice president, for real, i thought, i honest to god, thought i could help him more as chairman of the foreign relations committee. and he said i need to know right away. i said, well, no, i don't want to do this. i was on a train, actually, spend 80% of my life on the train. and he said how much time do you need? i said i don't need any time. he said go on home and talk it over with your family. >> the event is honoring mondale as a living legacy. >> so biden could make a decision soon taking on hillary clinton and bernie

saunders, republican time shaping up to be donald trump and ... >> donald trump says he loves what he is seeing in the polls. >> that's why i love the polls. say well other people don't talk about polls. you know why? because they're doing lousy in the polls, okay? >> trump is the unquestioned leader in the gop race five points ahead of doctor ben carson, jeb bush and margo rubio tide for third, 13 points back. clinton and sanders cheerleaders on the democrat egg side. potential candidate for the what the house casting large shadow over the race. >> vice president biden is currently third in the pole. more than 40% of clinton and sanders' supporters say they would be at least somewhat likely to support him if he got into the race. biden hasn't given any public hints about which way he is leaning, but he may have take answer veiled shot at clinton this morning, when he appeared to reference her comment at last week's debate that she was most proud republicans where her biggest enemies.

philadelphia, today 47, right on target for today. that's the average low for october 20th. so now this is where we should be feeling and seeing here for the mid to end of or october, looking at some 50's still in some of the colder suburbs, 59 allentown, wilmington, 61 already at the airport in philadelphia, that's the trends we're going with, for the suburbs, as well, low 60s this hour. few more hours to go. we'll heat things up. compared to yesterday at this time, check it out, anywhere from ten to 21 degrees warmer, that's the sign of the warmer air mass continuing to build n lots of sunshine through the rest of today. quiet on storm scan3, forecast hi, couple of degrees above average, 68 for philadelphia, and mid 60s at the shore, the sunshine and even in the mountains, topping off at 60 this afternoon. then talking about 70s coming up in the seven day forecast, those details in just a few more minutes, erika, over to you. >> justin, thank up. eagles take share of first place with a big win over the giants last night. some fireworks to start monday night football at the linc, always love seeing that. the giants exploded out of the

ordeal. ahmed muhammad attended owes tron any night. invitation came directly from breast obama. he says that he was arrested and suspended from school last month after bringing in a homemade clock that a teacher misstook for a bomb. >> i would like to say that i'm glad that this happened to me, because i get to spread my word out to the people and tell them that it is not by religion, but by your heart, and judge a person by your heart, not what they look like. >> his parent pulled him out of his texas high school after the incident. he is reportedly received offers to attend several schools all around the globe. his parent are now deciding which school would be the best fit for him. but sounds like he had a great time last night. >> still ahead on "eyewitness news", hershey's chocolate is supervising a favorite treat. we'll tell you which one. also, gathering at some of the best and brightest female stars. this event ends up shedding light on what some are calling a big problem in hollywood. justin?

>> we're got ago look at some disturbing video. man with a michetti swinging it, in traffic. and that's just the beginning here. we have some video here, shot by eyewitness, at about 3:00 in the morning, oakland california, look at this guy. some drivers tried to hit him with their cars, trying to stop him, one finally did, he bounced back up, but eventually, that man was arrested. prosecutors have not said what charges that man will face. oh, scary for the driver.

>> rough commute. >> no kidding. well r compared to yesterday, today's just lovely it, seems like, normal fall day. >> yes, getting back to where we should be. talking about 70s in our forecast, so we go from winter coat, sweaters yet, to possibly shorts tomorrow. >> big change. >> yes, nice little indian summer stretch coming up for the next couple of days, enjoy this afternoon if you can, get outside, feeling nice already, temperatures in the 60s, we have the sunshine out, live look at ocean city, right now, deserted beach, but just overall nice day. really no matter where you are, delaware, new jersey, or even up in the mountains, poconos, nice afternoon. so, here's what's ahead. today finally rebounding back to where we should be after cold day yesterday, in the 50's, back into the mid and even upper 60s, that's actually couple every degrees above average. and then well above average temperatures, for wednesday and thursday, as the core of the warm air mass starts to build n talking about mid 70s, for highs. don't get used to it, though, we cool it back down again to below average temps for friday, into the upcoming weekends, then sunday, monday next week, really the next

shot for some rain, in the form of some showers, so do have nice dry stretch of weather coming in through the start of the weekends. average highs, 65 degrees, not even close to that on sunday, and yesterday, but today, right back to where we should be, that transition day, then wednesday, thursday, mid 70s, for the afternoon temperatures. already up to 61 at the airport in philadelphia, and millville, still cooler spots north and west, 59 allentown, mount pocono already coming in at 61 degrees. and it is warmer to the west cleveland, 67, it continues to spread eastwards over the next 24 hours. quiet on storm scan3, now, do have clouds, showers, across up-state new york, there is a cold front there that stays to our north. so, as long as we're south of the front, we will be sitting in the mild air mass, that will stick around for the next couple of days, will be changing for friday, high pressure over us, in the meantime, locks us in the dry weather pattern, there is the front staying to the north, where all of the wet weather will be once again tomorrow. we will be in the sunshine, with just few clouds, cold front starts to move in from the ohio valley on thursday.

still, sunny on thursday, out ahead of it it is warm. front will come through thursday night, should come through dry, then just bridges temperatures back down below average for friday. so the jet stream also on the rise, just northward, just allows the warmth of the deep south to expand northward. so the temperatures today, mid and upper 60s, maybe some spots at 70, with enough sun, this evening, not bad. temperatures holds into the 50's, then tomorrow look at the widespread 70s, return, specially a watt from the coastline. nice afternoon, 68 degrees, today, mostly sunny skies, tonight, not as cold, 50 for center city, little cooler in some suburbs. then here is the extended forecast, mostly sunny on wednesday. 74 degrees, mid 70s again on thursday, with few more clouds. that's just that front that comes through late thursday night. knocks temperatures back down to the low 60s, sunshine, 59 saturday, and then next week, looks like we still hold in the 60s, maybe couple of showers around. doesn't look like any consistent cold weather coming up any time soon. >> as long as we don't hear frost, i'm happen up.
