quick check on traffic and roads this morning. >> good morning, erika, certainly is 70s, and then we are waking up on monday morning with a extra hour of sleep. so, i don't know about you guys, but i'm feeling well respected and -- well rested and great. how is it feeling out there right now? >> not that bad. little cool, temperatures in the 50's, 40's, but nothing cold, and little weird right now, because actually starting to get little brighter. that's what happens. now back in standard time. so sunrise coming up in about a half hour. but we do have some clouds over us right now, because of storm system to the south. but not going to bring any rain today. fifty-three at the airport, 45 allentown, so you get farther north and west of the city, little bit less cloud cover, so temperatures were able to drop off. so suburbs again upper 40's this morning, to low and mid 50's, for the temperature spread. wind pretty much calm. it is comfortable outside for that morning work out outdoors. maybe just walking the dog, no problems this morning, and there is the cloud cover over us right now, mid to high level clouds, so enough sun,

should get through this morning, to help warm us up pretty quickly, then the showers stay well to the south today. so, no threat of any precipitation, we're in a warm and dry stretch of weather, so what to expect? partly sunny skies today, will warm up even more, get up to 68 degrees, for the high temperature, breaking down the numbers this morning, 58 by 9:00 with some sunshine, lunch hour looks good, mid 60s, and again, for around the city talking about upper 60s for the high, that's almost 10 degrees above average at the shore, mid 60s with more cloud cover, and feels pretty nice up in the poconos upper 50's, now also talking mid 70s later this week, we will get to the details in a few minute, first we got to get a check on the commute. >> good morning, justin, tarred believe it is november, extra hour of sleep, and 70s, i just love it. it makes me so happy. good morning shall everybody, this is where a car hit a deer and went into ditch. this is blue route, northbound, approaching germantown pike. now, you can see crews out there trying to get that vehicle cleared out of the way. not causing too many slow downs right now. but however when you approach

this curve right here you obviously are seeing some brake light go off. so it will start to slow down little bit as we progress into the morning if that doesn't get cleared out of the way. here is a look at the schuylkill eastbound at the roosevelt boulevard. penndot casino of moving the cameras around, showing you the flow of traffic. looking pretty good. everyone still traveling around, at posted speeds this morning, which on monday morning moving into the 6:00 hour this is normally when we see traffic levels start to flow. talcony palmyra bridge is back down, and moving along, ever so nicely in that area. ninety-five northbound at the walt whitman bridge, another area where we're slowly starting to see more headlight, more taillights start to get out on the roadways, this is where we have a car fire left lane northeast extension southbound past quakertown, one lane is now open. it was all lanes closed. one lane now open, and also, construction 495, north, off ramp to terminal avenue, closed until next friday, november 13th. so, the construction projects that we've been seeing so far this morning getting out of our way nice and early, i'll keep you updated all morning

long. >> meisha, a thank you. philadelphia police are trying to solve the fatal shooting after 16 year old boy in strawberry mansion. it happened yesterday evening, as he and another friend were riding bikes on the 2200 block of west sedgley avenue. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us now at police headquarters with that story and more information for us, good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning, detective say those two teens were targeted. now they are trying to figure out who opened fire on them, and why. and what police say at this time, they don't have a motive, they are not ruling out road rage. >> say somebody got shot. >> reporter: emanuel open door holy ministry church in service sunday afternoon when shots were fired outside their door. members didn't hear them. but they did see the rush to save a young life. >> i thought it was, you know, ambulance going past. and we came out, just saw this shocking. >> shocking 16 year old boy was shot death near their

church where they say they felled safe. >> seventeen shots at 15 to 16 year old, an awful lot of shots. >> target police say two teens boys ages 15 and 16 riding along the 2200 block of west sedgley avenue just after 4:30 p.m. sunday, when the sound of gunfire cracked. >> police were in the area, heard the gunshots, immediately began to survey the area. >> police fawn the 16 year old shot and helped get him to temple hospital where he died short time later. authority say the teen victim and 15 year old boy were riding in the center of sedgley, when silver buick suddenly stopped in front of them. police say the boy pedaled past. >> got further along sedgley avenue they in the dollars that the same buy hick pulled exit from the rear and stood next to the trunk. the complaint and the at the time believed something bad was about to happen, they noticed two males, began shooting at them. >> the 15 year old managed to escape unharmed, and now working with homicide

detective. and the 16 year old who died is not yet been identified. but police say that both teens live in that strawberry mansion neighborhood. this morning now looking for the silver buick, dark tint, leaving the scene. also two male s, onuspecte described a black male, dark skin, and also wearing dark hoodie, also opened fire on those teens. they're also looking for two surveillance video of the area which they hope will have video of that shooting as it happened happened. live from police headquarters, justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> justin, thank you willment suspect in custody for the murder after man in philadelphia's logan section. it happened last night, at tenth and fisher. police say a man knock on the front door. the victim's wife tells police, the man shot her husband several times in the head, and he died about a half hour later. police believe the motive stemmed from previous fight. camden county police hope you can help them find a missing teen. police say 16 year old john harris reported missing saturday night from his home on the 2700 block every

mikhail avenue. he is described as a hispanic male, about 5 feet tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. if you have any information on where he may be, you are asked to call police. >> fire broke out on halloween night at plymouth park and the. damaged hydrant coupled with no sprinklers, caused that fire to spread quickly. one woman died in that fire. thirty other were forced to evacuate. >> i was thankful it didn't happen last week when it was really windy. you know, hot embers coming over and stuff like that. that was my concern. >> nineteen of the 24 apartments were damaged in that fire. >> 6:06 right now. metro jet official says russian plane lost speed over egypt rapidly just before saturday crash. that plane was caring 224 people. no one survived. as don champion report, the bodies the passengers are arriving in st. petersberg.

>> the bodies of victims of the russian metro jet crash in egypt were flown to st. petersberg this morning. russian aviation officials say flight 9268 broke apart 23 minute into it flight saturday. at the time the plane was cruising at 30,000 feet, over egypt's sinai peninsula. all 224 people on board were killed. and affiliate of islamic state group claimed responsibility for the crash, but so far investigators say there is no evidence to support that. they are looking at possible mechanical and structural issues, because the plane suffered severe damage in the past. >> it had a tail strike, seven years ago, and had been repaired. we just don't know if it was an adequate repair. >> as a precaution a growing number of airlines including lufthansa and air france are avoiding the air space near the crash. >> we don't know what happened here. and as long as we don't know what happened, it is probably proud don't avoid the area. >> the head of russia's aviation agency, says debris

from the wreckage is spread over more than six square miles. the plane's black boxes have been recovered, but so far have not been analyzed. >> don champion, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". officials will use an unmanned vehicle to confirm if a ship found east of the bahamas is the missing el faro. the orion, side scanning sonar system found 790-foot vessel believed to be that missing cargo ship. it also determined that the ship is upright under 15,000 feet of water. thirty-three cru members died when the ship sang last month during hurricane joaquin. >> today president obama is heading to rutgers newark campus, to push for criminal justice reform. he is scheduled to preside over rounds table discussing former inmates, re-adjusting to life after prison. the president will also stop at a drug treatment facility in lincoln park to highlight prisoner re-entry into the community. and, new jersey governor, chris christie, will be in camden today to highlight the

department's community policing. christie will hold round this morning and address camden county police force on their public safety reforms. the governor plans to note the progress made to bring down crime in the city, and the positive relations between the police and the community. >> kansas city celebrating today the royals have ended their 30 year wait for world series the royals scored five runs against the mets of last night's game five in new york. royals beat the national league champs seven-two, to take the series four games to one. last year, they lost in seven games. kansas city patrick salvador perez named this year's mvp. >> enjoying it now, kansas city, number one, so who cares about what happened last year? >> from day one, no doubt in my mind that they wouldn't accomplish it, there was no doubt in their mind that they wouldn't accomplish it. and the cool thing about this team is everything they set

>> halloween horror. frightening crash in the bronx, new york, killed three people including ten year old girl. police say the 52 year old driver struck the pedestrians, and then went through a fence, in front after home. >> horrible, it was horrible. you can't imagine that something like that is real. it look like something from a war movie. >> four people, including the driver, were injured in that crash. police are look to go see if the driver had a medical condition at the time of that accident. >> a house has exploded in suburb detroit. fire off initials redford township believe a gas leak, caused that blast, which injured a man. he is expected to be okay. neighbors say last night's explosion shook their homes. the impact blew debris into nearby yards even shattered

coming home mild 67 degrees, we give it b plus overall because of the cloud cover today. not a bad high temperature of 68 for philadelphia, mid 60s at the shore, with thicker clouds, and the poconos, little more sun, with high of 59 degrees. but we are talking about mid 70s, for the upcoming work week, i show you that in the seven day forecast coming up in just a bit. now a check on the commute. good morning, meisha, how is it looking out there. >> good morning, happy monday to all of you at home. just waking up with us we have car fire causing some major delays in quakertown right now. the northeast extension southbound past quakertown, now, this is the area where you really want to avoid at all costs if you k i would suggest using alternate, such as route 309. you are traveling far less than posted speeds, in and around this area. one lane is now open. all lanes were blocked. one lane is now open, but still very slow there. also, this is where car hit deer. went off into the ditch. crews still there trying to get this cleaned up. this is the blue route northbound, approaching germantown pike. not causing too many slow

downs right there. although, we certainly are seeing some brake lights go off. and we have disable vehicle here, 95 southbound, at girard. causing some significant delays. it is already busy right now on 95 southbound, but this disable vehicle is getting this far backed up, as well. then when when we look at the vine, vine okay, moving in the westbound direction, really slowing down there, and schuylkill at the boulevard another area that is looking pretty good on the roosevelt boulevard, but as you go down to sit avenue slowing down moving in the westbound direction. erika, back over to you. >> meisha, thank you. someone has ruined halloween, police in chester country looking into reports that someone put need unless halloween candy. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joining us now with more on the story, every year we warn but there is always so disrupt whg we hear this, needles in canned. >> i disturbing, wonder how someone could do this, especially to kids, and big concern to paranicus end. police are examining six candy bars were reportedly given away on halloween night in the standing hills neighborhood of kennett square and found need

unless them. at this point police haven't been able to sigh who or where this candy came from. >> chester county parents found themselves busy checking halloween candy sunday morning, after kennett square police received reports around midnight that sewing-like needles were discovered in 5twix bars. >> that's discusting (do it to kids? >> unbelievable. i'm in shock. >> so was miguel who said he and his friends found the need unless their canned. >> i we all kept our -- check our twix, our skiddles, and snickers, but didn't find any in the snickers only in the txi. >> he said he and his friends ages seven to 12 check their candy after seeing post on facebook about needle in a snickers bar. he spent sunday speaking with investigators about what they found and where they wentk-or-t. >> there were four kids involved. they are not all related two, separate families, but all went trick or treating together. >> by the afternoon another

child came forward saying he found a need until his snickers bar. police say he had been trick-or-treating in the same general area. but investigators do not believe that 12 year old was with miguel and his friend. kennett square police say they investigate all complaints, as legitimate, until proven otherwise, and these reports were serious enough for police to send out alerts warning neighbors. >> i did check her candy this mornings i read that on facebook, the article. >> maybe break their candy bart, if it is a softer style, such numerous brands out, there maybe even crush the bar in the package, see if they feel anything first. always a safety factor. >> fortunately, police say, no one ate the reported tainted candy. no one was injured. if it does turn out this is legitimate case of tampering with children's halloween candy, the person responsible could face at least a wreckless endangerment charge. >> god forbid it could actually bite into that, or a need until their throat. >> ingest the, could become. >> i not smash it, not pretty

but at least you're safe. >> best to be safe. >> woodbury police department also says they received a report of tainted candy. check this out. police posted on their facebook page that a caller claimed they found a needle or pin in a snickers almond bar in gloucester county. michelle car wood posted these photos on facebook saying she notified police, and plans to bring that can i in. police are urging parent just to be extra cautious. >> the race for mayor ends tomorrow. tuesday is election day in philadelphians will be picking their new mayor. "eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones tells us, he spoke with two of the cans day in their final push to get out the vote. >> what would you say to critics say, a, one, you have no chance of winning, b, by some miracle if you do, you have no real power to make a change? >> well, i would say for people who think i don't have any chance of winning, at this time, they haven't been in the communities that i hav' people, because there is great momentum and buzz right now.

people feel liberated we might be able to finally doing? our city. when i do get into office i know how to work with people. i know how to get things done. >> as republican candidate for mayor, melissa mushy -- murray bailey facing long odds in a sit where registered democrats outnumber the pop significance by seven to one. this is her first run for office. >> the problem for philadelphia is we keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. >> by contrast, heavy favorite democrat jim kensy entrenched in city politics. critics looking at you, looking at this race will say, well, here we go again. philadelphia's going to elect another mayor coming from city council. part of the democratic party machine. how is anything realistically ever going to change. >> well, i think that i like at my career, and my legislative history, i've done real substantial work in the course of my 23 years there, and is not my responsibility to apologize to the republican party because they haven't been able to mount credible

them. the wounded vets created this challenge to raise awareness and money, for the walking with the wounded charity. among the veterans, 24 year old kirsty enis, an us marine veteran who sustained several injuries while deployed in afghanistan. >> you know, really, made me question my limited. it made me realize what my new sense of normalcy is with the injuries that i have. at the same time, such a confidence booster know that you can actually overcome anything that is thrown at you. >> enis' leg was supposed to be amputated last summer but she put off that surgery so she could take part in this walk. 6:38 right now. still ahead. of the the one item millennials pay for most often. also, we all know lack of sleep can put now bad mood, right? which one is worse here, getting interrupted during sleep or simply not getting enough of it? the answer is next. >> and, it is that time of year to rock a mustache like tom celek. doctor rob is here to talk
