up good forecast, 70s for the rest of the week, little deceiving stepping outside. pretty cold, because we have clear skies now, compared to yesterday morning, clouds now gone. calm winds, so dropping into the 30's, in many suburbs, allentown, 38 degrees, 38 millville, 37 around the city at the airport, 45, in wilmington. but there are the cold spots just to the north and west, pottstown checking in at 38 degrees, this hour, even mt. holly, new jersey, coming in at 39. and we will drop few more grease before sunrise, winds calm, that's good news, at least you don't have to deal with any harsh windchills out there this morning, nothing happening on storm scan3. clear skies, all over the delaware valley, that's the trends today, so we will have big temperature rebound, so waking up in the 30's, talking highs around 70 degrees, so, good 30 degrees difference from this morning into the afternoon, lots of sunshine, those temperatures above average. here is the election day planner, get full sunshine, 8:00 temperature close to 50 by noon upper 60s, and in the evening, still looking good, temperatures in the lower 60s

accident northeast extention, northbound past quakertown, tractor-trailer hit another truck. and the right lane is blocked in and around this area, still early though, not going to cause too many slow downs for you. another accident glen mills, east matson road. if you can avoid that area, i would probably do so. also new jersey downed pole from earlier accident, route 70 eastbound before maple avenue. two right lanes and the shoulder are blocked. erika, back over to you. >> meisha, thank you. campaign 2015 is over now. time to head to the polls. the biggest race is in philadelphia, that's where voters are choosing a new mayor. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us now in south philly where the polling places open up in a couple of hours. good morning. >> good morning, and there is concern that perhaps turn out may not be that high today. but officials still want you to know there are several key races that will affect you, it the city and the state. city pole watches are placing likely turn out somewhere between 12 and 30% today. not high given that the city

will today choose it next mayor. the top two candidates sat down with cbs-3 todd quinones, democrat hopeful and former city councilman jim kenny says he wants to tackle city poverty rates, police reform and funding city schools. republican hopeful and business woman, melissa murray bailey, also wants to work with harrisburg to fund city schools, attract more businesses to philly, and give voters a voice, and both also are weighing in on what they would bring to the job. >> i don't think we should have someone who needs six months to a year to learn all of the names and faces and personalities, and i think we certainly have people in our department that can do that now. >> mayor or two ago came from city council, went into the mayor's offers, then the last mayor, same thing. now we see the opportunity for the same thing to happen again. and i think philadelphians are tired of where we are. but you're not going to get anything different if you don't do something different. >> and kenny -- kinly greet

tears through house in delaware county. chester firefighters got that call around 11:00 last night to house fire on the 2600 block of cane street. they had it under control in about an hour. there are no reports of any injuries, no word yet on how it started. >> it appears police in south jersey are no closer to solving the mysterious death of three year old brendan keitho. toxicology tests came back negative. three weeks ago an autopsy was inconclusive. on october 13th, search teams found brendan's bod bye half mile from his father's apartment in haddon township. hours earlier his father reported him missing. dj createo's attorney spoke to "eyewitness news". >> he has no answers, he has more questions, i think, after today, we have more questions after today, and it is an awful, awful tragedy. that just never, ever goes away. >> police have not named any suspect. if you have any information, you are asked to call the camden county prosecutor's

office. family, friends, and neighbors, gather to remember 16 year old shot and killed while riding his bike in north philadelphia. a vigil was held last night for saline west. west was killed sunday afternoon on west sedgley avenue after he and a friends got into a confrontation with some men in a buick. >> it is hard to see the young boy like that go so fast, man. i didn't even see him do too much. i seen him go to school, played little basketball, he was a good kid. >> police are still searching for the shooters. fifteen year old tan ear anderson is his friend. he was with saline at the time of the shooting. he eggs caped without injury. "eyewitness news" spoke with anderson. we'll hear from him coming up a little later on this morning. >> 4:37 right now. authorities in gloucester county hager that's nearly decade old cold case. forty-three year old john block is her facing murder charges. he is accused of taking part in a 2006 home invasion that left juan, owner of germantown

part own end shop dead, they ambushed him whether he arrived at his washington township home, and tied up his children. blocker was arrested in philadelphia yesterday. and await extradition to new jersey. >> another woman tells philadelphia police that she was indecently assaulted along the schuylkill river trail. the latest incident happened sunday afternoon. the woman was walking with her boyfriend, when a group of boys on bikes began harassing them. one of those boys grabbed the woman ann prepare reap atly before riding away. other women reported similar attacks, two weeks ago. >> happening now, oscar pistorius' case being heard by south africa court of appeal. prosecutors want the athlete convicted every murder and sent back to jail. he is not at today's hearing, but the family of his late girlfriend, reeva steenkamp is. last year pistorius was found guilty of culpable homicide, that's charge similar to manslaughter.

this 2013 fatal shooting of steenkamp. he's now under house arrest. >> both russian and egyptian officials are dismissing claims that the made by the islamic state, that the metro jet flight 9268 was shot down. all 224 people on board that plane were killed when it crashed into the sinai peninsula saturday. investigators have recovered the airbus fuselage. airline officials are ruling out pilot error, but aviation experts say it is still too soon to tell. >> still ahead this morning on "eyewitness news", new jersey resident, your new neighbor could be eagles head football coach. the new house chip kelly just bought. we'll tell you where it is. also, we know we look at screens too much, flight but new study takes a look at just how much time kids spends staring at televisions, smart phones, and computers. >> and are you enjoying this little taste of warm weather? justin takes a look at just how long the 70 agree temperatures will last. we'll be right back.

>> the largest ship ever built in the u.s. will stay afloat at least for now. the ss united states was once the worlds' fastest ocean liner. now, it is docked in the delaware river, rusting away. a local group is trying to avoid sending it to the scrap yard, instead, they want to turn it into a museum. the group announced yesterday, it has raised more than $1,000 so far. the board will meet this week to discuss the ship's future. a pitbull, abandoned on the side after road, by dog fighters; now onhe road to recovery. a chester police officer found that dog now named rem i in chester, and that dog was badly injured. remm bring now slowly making progress, he weed 16 pounds less than he should have, but now getting the medical care and attention he needs. >> he woke up to love. you know, he was alive. but when he woke up from recovery, all he saw was love here. >> the group justice rescue is

the ben franklin bridge, no problems. here is the set up. what we are talking about, again, september like air mass, sunny, war stretch. we have streak of the 70s, that starts today, and ends through the rest of the week. next rain chance really coming in later thursday maybe friday. it is not a big chance at this point. here you go. temperatures right now generally in the low 40's, swedesboro, cherry hill, 44, dover, delaware, newark mid 40's, around philadelphia, little milder at 47. but again, surrounding suburbs, we have some 30's, mt. holly, new jersey, 39 degrees, malvern at 44. some 38's going on, pottstown, allentown, 39 degrees chaddsford. we drop few more degrees just before sunrise which is around 6:30, nothing happening on storm scan3, get used to that. this will be the same deal again for your wednesday, outdoor plans, looks great. good boating conditions, no excuse to not get out and vote. and blame it on the weather because just dealing with sunshine. temperatures in the 70s, even warmer on wednesday, mid 70s, for afternoon highs. thursday, some more clouds, come in, little weak disturbance, maybe triggers

event called blip, bo ties and burbon. it benefits youth programs here in philadelphia. there were autograph jerseys and other memorabilia up for sale up for auction, birds are still thinking about this weekend's prime time match up with the cowboys. >> this is a team backed in the corner. so we have to come with our own, because we're not in great spot. we haven't been going well, have things to prove in the second half of the season. so it will be one of those fun matchups where both teams have something to prove. both teams have a clip on their shoulder. both teams in desperate need after win. >> the eagles will face the cowboys team without quarterback tony romo. he suffered a broken collarbone to the cowboys win in the win over the eagles back in september. >> well, there have been rumors that chip kelly is headed back to college coach rang, but may be able to put the rumors to rest now. the birds coach has reportedly bought a new home in haddonfield, camden county. the coach spent about 1.1 million for the 4500 square foot home. not far from the sport complex. and, listen to there is

4:53, and a check on the roads, how is it looking this morning, meisha? >> yes, good morning, erika, looking pretty good. the vine street expressway was closed because of some overnight construction, that is now open. so you can see the eastbound

and westbound lanes are open between the schuylkill and broad street. that's great. this is one of the areas we're keeping our eye on this morning, already heating up little bit there. also, some construction on the vine local westbound between 11th and 12th, one left lane is open here, but it looks like they're just starting to get this cleared out of your way. just make note that that one left lane is open. you can see the squad car still in place. blue route southbound at mid-county looking good, blue route anywhere i look, any camera looking real nice this morning, still dark out there. we do have accident northeast extension past quakertown, tractor-trailer t another truck in the right lane blocked because of that. not causing too many slow downs right now, we have another accident that i'll update you none about ten minutes. so, justin, i know it is going to be real nice out, there the roads are looking good, too. so what's the storey? >> weather is nice and quiet. battling sun glare later this morning, once the sun is up around 6:30, full sunshine today, quickly warms temperatures up. it is chilly right now being stepping outside it kind of hit you hard. looking at 30's in a lot of the suburbs, 47 at the airport in philadelphia, 41 trenton, dropping few more degrees before sunrise, the reason for
