to the nation's capitol toward baltimore. heavier rain off the coast of the north carolina will stay out to sea but rain will reach us within the next several hours, the atmosphere is set to bring in a few showers cropping over over portions of the delaware and into portions of maryland as well. there is that big globe of green with the clouds in place though, temperatures are not that bad. it is 58 degrees in philadelphia 56 in wilmington. fifty-six in allentown. so when does the rain get here? how long does it stick around? how much can we expect? i'll have details about how this will impact your morning commute tomorrow especially coming up when i join you inside. >> thanks, kate. going to new heights to help those in need, that is the the goal of the local non-profit. >> reporter: part of the flying for david means volunteering his time, plane, his fuel to transport sick patients and their families to treatment centers throughout the north east. >> in essence what we tell patients is you have enough to worry about with your unfortunate situation, whatever that is, let me take care of the transportation. >> reporter: angel flight east a non-profit based in blue bell pairs pilots with patients and their families. 300 flights a year are free and they have help people like briana. >> i have eight to 12 months live. >> reporter: now a at the junior college in maryland but just a few years ago suffering from a rare tumor in her esophagus. >> i could not breathe and it just kept coming back report report what saved her life experimental surgery in boston but weekly trips were causing a huge amount of stress on her family. >> before we figured it out, about angel flight east we talk about selling our house back in new jersey and moving up to boston in an apartment. >> reporter: but her social worker told her family about

have seen some brash moves over the years but this one is up there, not only did he use a cab as his getaway vehicle, well then, it brought him right to police headquarters. police say they have seen smarter criminals after this allege bank robber came to them, making his getaway right by police headquarters, minutes after robbing two center city banks on monday. 1:30 this afternoon the man allegedly walk in the td bank at 11th and chestnut demanding cash. he was given fake money 36789 minutes later walk in the pnc a block away on market street. there police say he got away with an undisclosed an amount of money and jumped in the waiting cab to make his getaway. bike officer followed the cabs through the streets where it was stopped just outside police headquarters. >> officers responded to that location. they quickly gave out flash information of possible suspect and then based, on good police work they were able to track down suspect right outside our build here. >> reporter: cab was stopped as police investigated, money

recovered and sorry suspects turned over to the fbi so tonight it is still not clear just how much money that suspect tried to get away with. he is now in the fbi custody where he will have to think about his crime. we are live in center city tonight, diana rocco for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". philadelphia police launched an investigation in the photo of two office their went viral on social media police say it shows the two officers a asleep in their patrol car. police say picture of the unidentify officers was taken by civilian at an undisclosed location in the 24th police district which covers parts of the kenting ton and port richmond. >> the investigation is underway and appropriate disciplinary action will take place. >> lieutenant stand forward went on to say that the photo send a wrong message about the hard work police officers you the in every day. we're hearing from the delaware river port authority police office shore was being praised for his action. >> did he something very special when he saw a home

homicide squad believes it has crack a 30 year-old murder case in wilmington. woman was arrested in dalton, georgia awaiting extradition to delaware to face charges. kyw news radio steve towa reports. >> new castle county police chief, said, persistence paid off for surviving family members of the 54 year-old joseph brawn, murdered in his

home in wilmington in 985. >> interesting case that is just the people that solved it. >> reporter: cold case detective thomas, and retired sergeant glenn davis, were relentless. >> it feels great. i mean to be able to reach out to a family member and say we were able to give you closure, the whole unit is all about. >> reporter: in 1999, investigators received information about a suspect believed to have committed a crime but he died two years earlier. they did get another lead about his girlfriend, sandra heart sag, said to be present and involved in the murder. this cold case was reopened last month after investigators learned that sandra was arrested in philadelphia, in 2001. they won't comment on the evidence, they obtained, back then but they say it is positively links her to joseph brawn's home and vehicle. brawn's former home has change hand over the years but neighbor linda a, recalls what happened inside 2211hea rn. >> fairfax is a family oriented neighborhood and nothing ever, nothing ever

news worthy ever goes on here. no. so we were all in shock. >> reporter: she was arrested in dalton, georgia she's waiting extradition in delaware to face charge that he is include murder, first degree robbery, conspiracy and possession of the deadly weapon. steve towa for kyw news radio for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". philadelphia police are investigating the killings of a couple in fairmount parkas a possible crime of passion. twenty-five year-old shecore arlene and three two-year old lisa smith were found dead inside an suv on friday. police say both victims were shot multiple times in the head. >> we had outside relationships so that is where our investigation will start, because somebody knew that they were in the park at that time and obviously had issue with that. >> police tell "eyewitness news" that they have questioned a woman connect with the male victim, and, no arrests have been made. a pennsylvania senate panel convenes to examine whether kathleen kane can remain attorney general

without a law license. the special committee met for the first time today beginning with testimony from 3-d a's from burlington, bucks and somerset counties. they testified that they would not be able to do their job without a law license. kane's license to practice law has been suspended while she fights criminal charges. committee has 30 days to make a recommendation on kane's removal. student's at camden's hb wilson elementary school celebrated their community to day cooper university health care, distributed to all of the student. it is part of the keep warm and stay healthy program, for increasing community pride and promote healthy lifestyles. in the upcoming weeks all student attending city schools will get the sweat shirt. >> very nice. >> love the smiles, indeed. >> keep warm and keep dry, with the rain coming in. >> serves him well in the next few weeks and months to come. >> definitely by the weekend. get out those sweat shirts. in the near term the umbrella, punchos, it is not that cold but it will turn pretty wet.

>> here it comes. >> and into tomorrow. >> we have had a ton of rain over past several weeks. nice and warm but now we're tracking some much needed rainfall but also a drop in temperatures by the end of the week a clot talk b lets get to it. we will look outside and take you out to campbell's feel camera looking at ben franklin bridge. still dry. there are a few cloud drift nothing, certainly today, starting out on a nice note and ended up gray, bit overcast, as the system pushes toward us from the south. lets look at is what going on time lapse video. you can see that happening, started off in broadheadsville with blue skies and sunshine. notice how that blue sky gives way to increasing cloud by the afternoon. things turn gray here as buses pick the kid up and take them home but now that the lights are on skies are completely overcast here in pleasant valley and that is the case all across at year through tonight. clouds are in and now we are waiting for the rain. here it is, you can see this massive rain, actual center of the low over north carolina

heavier rain is off the coast and that should miss most of us but shore points could be eclipsed with heavier rain masses through the next 24 hours or so. really what we are watching is these pockets of rain embedded over portions of virginia lift nothing to maryland and getting into our region. offer night and certainly tomorrow morning. right now anything falling is generally light but it starts to intensify with the darker green shading moving in portions of maryland and heading in to delaware. timing it out you can see we expect rain to get in by about midnight and heavier rain will come in early tomorrow morning. here's your time, 8:00 a.m. rain falling steadily, that will continue through noon and then does eventually lift out and taper off by tomorrow evening. tomorrow evening's commute no, sir as wet as tomorrow morning. the period of rain heavier at times half inch to an inch of rain it will be breezy as well. temperatures still in the the 50's, feeling comfortable out there but we are once again above average with right on target the first day not above average but actually seasonal
