this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". good morning, we are tracking rain today. more on just how much we're expecting, and whether it will affect both your commutes today. also, fast-food workers all across the country are expected to strike. they're demanding higher wages, more on the protests planned in our area. >> and another republican presidential debate takes place tonight. but, new jersey governor, chris christie, won't be on the main stage. how he feels about taking part in the so-called under card debate. good morning, it is tuesday, november 10th, i'm erika von tiehl. check on the rain, and the wet roads with meisha and justin, good morning. >> good morning, erika, yes, every camera i look at it is wet out there, indeed, slow you down bit this morning, absolutely, that's what i'm here for. justin you can let us know how

long will this last? >> it is not looking good this morning for that morning ride. so allow the extra drive time. it is rain, just use common sense out there. a lot of road spray, could be ponding on the roads, pockets of heavy rain from the storm that's rolling on through. really any time through the day, we will be under the gun for some showers, but looks leak the heaviest will occur during the morning hours, check it out, still not raining in the lehigh valley but about to start. seeing it in the berks county region, as well, again, pockets of heavy rain, moving through the area south and east, closer to south jersey see heavier showers, coming through salem, into gloucester county right now, also parts of southern new castle county, delaware, seeing heavier rain. that will will slow you down little bit on the roadways for the next few hours, here's what to expected to. periods of rain at any time. steadiest rain will be south and east of the city, northeast winds up around ten to 15 miles per hour, gusty along the coast, to up near 30. dealing with slow travel, ponding on the roads, both the morning and evening commutes

will be impacted today. somewhat mild, in the 50's, 55 in philadelphia, 53, allentown, suburbs, similar numbers, cold spot, doylestown coming in at 49 degreesment winds out of the northeast at about ten to 15 miles per hour, may get little gusty specially on some of the larger bridges, driving over, and forecast today will get to the low 60s, but it will be soggy day really all day long chance for those showers and no matter where you're cross the region. talk about sunshine returning for veterans day, but we hit the roads with meisha a what's snapping. >> good morning, like you were just saying, it is very wet out there indeed. you can see that by this camera. also where we have construction, nine at north at the betsy ross, you can see, block that right lane here, you can still see the cones, also if you just take a peak right there, you can see all of that pooling that is starting to happen. be very careful, especially on the bridge deck, some of the side streets, culmination just starts to pile up. and again, always drive slow. you want to give yourselves some time. hydroplaning does not come into effect this morning.

here's a look at the vine, headlights moving in the westbound direction at 24th, again, looking good here, still quiet, so early, very dark out, but you can see the raindrops coming down by the camera, wet roadways, it is going to take you some extra time this morning, i can assure you, 42 freeway northbound in new jersey, at creek road, approaching 295, looking good, looking actually very quiet here. and also, some construction, update on 495 north at terminal avenue. let me back out of the way so you can read this, as well, two right lanes blocked until midnight november 24th, the off ramp closed until friday, the onramp closed until the ends of november. erika, back over to you. >> thank you. new this morning, police were investigating an overnight shooting in kensington. police found a 29 year old man with a gunshot wound to the head. it happened in the 300 block of east summerset street around 3:15 this morning, there is no word right now on his condition. police are looking for a red or maroon vehicle that could be associated with that shooting. >> meanwhile, hundreds of workers and cities nationwide

rally to demand increase in minimum wage. that includes employees at this mcdonald's on the 3100 block of allegheny avenue in north philadelphia. they'll walk off the job, and just about 90 minute at 6:00 a.m. they joined home care and airport workers, among others, who want to see the minimum wage increase to $15 an hour. an afternoon rally at city hall is also planned. >> also, happening today, pennsylvania attorney general, kathleen kane, will be in montgomery county courtroom for preliminary hearing. kane is facing charges of perjury, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice. she has been under investigation for allegedly leaking secret grand jury information in order to embarrass a political foe and then later lying about it. philadelphia police have launched an investigation into a photo of two officers that went viral on social media. it shows those two officers right here asleep in their patrol car. police say the picture of the unidentified officers was taken by civilian at un dis

closed location in the 24th police district. which covers part of kensington, and port richmond. >> an investigation is underway, and the appropriate disciplinary action will take place. >> lieutenant went on to say the photo send the wrong message about the hard work so many officers put in every day. >> a man who allegedly robbed two center city banks is learning that crime doesn't pay and apparently stupidity does not either. investigators say this man tried to leave the scene in a cab. he is accused of robbing the td bank on 11th and chestnut, then the pnc block away on market. once he reportedly hopped in that cab the driver took him right to police headquarters. respond the to the location, they quickly gave out flash information of possible suspect, and just based on good investigative work, good police work, they were able to track down the suspect right outside our building here. >> police turned that suspect over to the f.b.i. >> philadelphia police are investigating the deaths of cup nel fairmount parkas a possible crime of passion.

twenty-five year old shakor and 32 year old lisa smith, found dead inside suv on friday, after being shot multiple times in the head. police say that the couple had outside relationships, so that's where they're starting this investigation. authorities have questioned a woman connected to that male victim but so far no arrests have been made. >> a group that led the push to oust the president of the university of missouri now wants a say in choosing his replacement. tim wolf announced yesterday, he was stepping down a mid criticism of his handling of racial issues. several members of the school's football team have threatened to sit out until wolf resigns. 4:36 right now. and in campaign 2016, election day is a year away and tonight the top eight republican presidential contenders gather for another debate. the fox business network and the wall street journal are hosting it. the focus is once again on economic issues.

but, not all of the candidates will be taking part. new jersey governor, chris christie's low pull numbers landed him in the so-called under card debate. christie says, though, eggs not whining about it. >> it doesn't mean much, as long as i perform well. bottom line if i do good job tomorrow night, you will be talking about me wednesday morning. >> former arkansas governor mike huckabee joins christy in the under card debate along with louisianna governor bobby gentle, and rick santorum. >> hillary clinton is officially a candidate on the new hampshire primary ballot. clinton was the last of the top three democratic presidential candidates to file. bernie sanders, martin o'malley registered last week. new hampshire primary takes place on february 9th. for the first time ever, federal regulators are calling for seatbelts in all school buses. the national highway traffic safety administration says seatbelts would cut the number of deaths in large school buses and school bus crashes in half. just last month school bus

donald trump is suggesting a boycott of starbucks. he's joined conservatives who are seeing red over the coffee chain design of holiday cups, which is simply a red cup with a company logo. critics see that as a movement away from christmas. stars bucks it will continue to embrace all backgrounds and religions around the world.

the king of prussia mall is making some big changes to its holiday display after receiving backlash from shoppers. organizers had planned to make the santa experience a modern take on the north pole. check it outright there. instead many mall visitors were upset by that display saying it is missing christmas spirit. one teen even admitted, hoping to get the traditional tree decorations back. >> currently, around 420 right now, not too big, but it is a start. >> people see this, maybe they feel like christianity really is under attack, this is a sign it is actually happening. >> looks so plane, like nothing to it. >> well, you can see what they are talking about here, we received statement from simon malls that says, quote, after listening to customer feedback, we immediately decided to re-install our existing christmas decor, and hope custom kearse join us in celebrating the christmas season. clothing chain h and m says it will not be open oven thanksgiving, released statement saying all of its us stores will be closed on

thanksgiving to give employees a chance to spend time with their families. h and m has traditionally been open on thanksgiving, really is a first for the company. meantime, target announced yesterday, that just like last year, it will open on thanksgiving at 6:00 p.m. so, in case you're already starting to plan your holiday shopping, there you go. >> 4:42, that rain, it is out there, it is sticking around today, justin? >> raincoats, umbrellas, all day long, let for rain. finding heavy rain this morning, not good for the morning ride. check it out on storm scan3, lighting up nicely, in south jersey and delaware, see a loft yellow showing up, indicating the heavier, steadier rain come coming in. continues to move in from the south and west, that rain starting to move in toward the lehigh valley so heads up around i78. if you are traveling northward into the poconos, you will run into these rain showers, but again, heavy in salem, parts of gloucester, camden county, just south of 295 right now, even cape may county about to get hit with steadier heavier rain as well as atlantic city over the next hour or so.

zoom things out. seep it is pretty large storm system we're dealing w now the core of the low pressure right across the mid-atlantic. still upper level portion of the storm back here across west virginia, ohio, still has to rotate through later today. may get breaks from time to time. into the afternoon. should see another wave of rain moving in later this evening. so this morning, areas of heavy rain, especially south and east of the city, ponding road spray, a bet for this commute. reduced visibility, just slow down, use common sense, it is rain. 58 degrees in millville. fifty-nine, dover, delaware, swedesboro, 53, everybody is pretty much low mid 50's at this hour because of the clouds and the rain around, try to get up to about 60 today. no sunshine, low pressure finally exits the region over night tonight. back to some sunshine on wednesday, nice day for veterans day, mid 60s for the highs, clouds rebuild on thursday, from this cold front. it will bring more showers around, nothing like we're dealing with today. still mild, though. lower 60s, once that front passes, then we bring back typical november weather. highs into the 50's, heading into the weekend.

so future weather model shows steady rain around this morning, may get few breaks this afternoon, couple of showers around, but another wave moves in, for the evening commute, into the overnight hours. finally 2:00 a.m., 3:00 a.m., most every us start to dry out. then back to some sunshine for wednesday. so there is some improvement there. rainfall amounts could get up to an inch in some spots. generally, around half inch, to three quarters after inch. today periods of rain, really any time, 62 degrees for the high temperature, tonight the rain tapers off after midnight, low of ooh, extended forecast looking better for wednesday. sixty-four, and look out for the weekends, fall weather certainly mid 50's, some sunshine, saturday, sunday, erika? >> had to cool down eventually, thanks, justin. sixers will try to blake losing streak dating back to last season when they take on the toronto raptors last night. last night chicago bulls were in town, sixers playing without nor orleans, noel. sat out with wrist injury. sixers were in the game, okafor polls dollars his first career double double with 21 points, and 15 rebounds. but, the bulls pulled away in

stock exchange, jill, hearing comcast is telling something like 200,000 customers they have to change their passwords. what's going on here? >> that's right. customer account information was found being sold on line. philadelphia-based comcast confirms a list of 590,000 e-mail accounts, this includes users names, and passwords, was being shopped on the so-called dark web, comcast says most of the info is inaccurate or out-dated. and that there is no breach of its own data system. but some analysts say it is a really good reminds their you should actually not use the same password for all of your different accounts, because if one of them is compromised, hackers could easily figure out your other accounts. >> so easy to say, but really how many of us have unique passwords for everything, you know? >> yes, i can barely remember one. >> i'm with you. hey, switching gears little bit, this one really surprised me, science meets style. we're hearing that bill ny the skies guy has his own fashion
