>> okay. >> we are going to be tracking some rain late they're morning and this afternoon, nothing happening right now, little bit of the light rain and breaking out in berks county, lehigh valley. this may not reach ground just yet. bulk is still out to the west a across western pennsylvania. so we have got a few hours to go before we get steady showers in here. we will get this to break up too. this is not a big rain event. is there center of the storm across the great lakes. that is where all of the wind energy is. we will get some of that breeze that does kick up this afternoon in the weekend. today breaking it down best shot between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. this afternoon. rainfall amounts less than a quarter inch. south wind at ten to 15. they will pick up with higher gusts near the coastline up to around 30 miles an hour. fifty-two at the airport. we have cloud rolling in. that is holding in the temperatures today and this morning in the mid 40's. calm wind right now, they will pick up, once this cold front moves through early afternoon. so breaking down hour by hour

today 8:00 o'clock we are in the lower 50's, cloud. by ten, rain showers moving in west to east. still mild. earl will i afternoon temperatures in the lower 60's. we will make it to a high of 62 degrees with breezy conditions this afternoon. mid 60's at the shore. fifty's in the poconos but some good news, as we head towards the evening commute, we will be dealing with these showers getting out of here. meisha, that is good news. it looks like both commutes should be okay from the storm system. >> that is great news, justin, thanks very much for that. good morning. happy thursday to you. things are looking good on our roadways as justin just pointed out, we're going to escape those wet roadways during our morning commute, they are looking dry right now but we are starting to see levels build up. as you can see moving in the eastbound direction we are looking good but moving in the west bun direction we are seeing a bulk of the volume right now. we were closed east and westbound for overnight construction clearly now that is all been opened. we have a disabled vehicle, the schuylkill, westbound, a

approaching vare avenue. if you look, just up here you can see it right here not causing too many slow downs as bulk of the traffic is moving in the eastbound direction at the schuylkill but make note that disabled vehicle is still there and will start to cause some slow downs if it doesn't get out of the the way. forty-two freeway moving in the northbound direction at creek road. we are looking great on 42 freeway. it is just getting us about a approaching 295. this is where we have an accident in new jersey, woodbury, evergreen avenue at cooper street near 295 and new jersey turnpike it is not letting us open, and close around this area but make note it is there and that accident i have been telling but that serious accident involving a met or cycle is still here kelly drive at lemon hill drive, outbound lanes are still blocked so use an alternate such as sedgley drive, nicole, back over to you. meisha, thank you. you might think it is too early to start war big snow and ice. >> never too early. but transportation departments in the tri-state area is slowly getting ready for months now, crews are ram pink

"eyewitness news" report are jan carabao joins us from university city with a look and we are so grateful they are doing this jan, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. it is certainly starting to feel a whole lot cooler in these overnight hours and should those flakes start to fall sooner thenater road crews are ready. happening today down in delaware delldot is inspecting its fleet of plows and similar preparations can be seen happening all across the delaware valley. on an unusual near 70-degree day in november, penndot made use of the extra warmth to make hure everything is ready to go for the cold. the hope is that more this, and less than that. we had 26 winter weather events, we had 22, between january 1st and march 20th, and then came to 3.4 events a week. >> reporter: to handle another harsh winter penndot is stockpiling supplies. this salt brine combination

will get the region through first couple storms. the salt pile keeps growing. >> right here we are looking at 4500 tons. >> reporter: and 110,000 tons of salties already in place across the philadelphia region. the equipment is ready too. in delaware dell dot is inspecting its fleet of plows and installing gps so you can e in real time where vehicles are located. penndot is trying the technology for the the first time this year too and plow drivers are learning their route before they are covered in snow. >> they want to know what potential obstructions could be in the way from the route in a snowstorm. >> reporter: because penndot uses same vehicles all year round this is last piece of the puzzle installing plow blade but it is a quick and easy process. now that they are ready, are you? >> nope, not at all. >> not at all. >> bring it on, i'm ready. i hope so. they say that every year but we will see.
