>> from the cbs broadcast center in philadelphia this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". today the yuck men are facing criminal charges because of what they did. >> the allegations are stunning. a group of student facing charges in connection to a sexting scandal at valley forge middle school. good afternoon, i'm erika von tiehl. chester county district attorney just wrapped up a news conference in which they described a saga of sexting and cyber bullying. chester with that story. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon, erika. well, prosecutors say that this started with a 13 year old girl sending inapropriate photos of herself but it has now ended with several young boys, now facing criminal charges. now, prosecutors said today again that this middle school victim started by sending inapropriate photos, willingly, to her then boyfriend. at some point, they break up, the boyfriends who police called the ring lead syrup set, and allegedly sends those photos to his friends. those photos are reportedly used to cyber bully and bully e victim in person until police are notified. the suspects are between 11 to 15 years old, and the cases involved trediffryn east town middle and valley forge middle schools. the disturbing story, chester county district attorney todd hogan says, cases of sexting are being reported all over the district, and said hundreds of thousands of pictures of young students in our area are likely out there. now the initial case started with three boys, but police

female members of philadelphia's city council. today the two faxes formerly denounced williams' handily porn gate scandal, by prosecute heres work in the d.a.'s office. todd quinones was at the news conference and joins us with more, todd? >> erika, the woman on city council say quite frankly they want these prosecutors fired, and they have plans to let this whole thing slide by quietly. this morning the city council, along with philadelphia chapter of the national organization for women, are all demanded harsh punishment for the three prosecutors, frank fina, mark cast tan so, pat less. ngh tons, while working at the state attorney general's office, they were all involved in the e-mail exchanges on government servers, dubbed porn gate. in september, district attorney seth williams concluded his own investigation, and ordered that the men all undergo sensitivity training. but this morning, critics say, that punishment is just way,

way too weak. >> these are gentlemen who have received, you know, accepted and in some cases passed these emails on, racist and sexist, it is completely unacceptable. >> how are they sitting in judgement of other people for breaking rules and laws? so it doesn't make any sense. they are held to a higher standard, because they're in that office. >> and, this morning, williams just released a statement saying in part, i have reached out to now multiple occasions to sit down and discuss this matter in greater detail, and to date they have refused. i agree that the material in question was offensive. but i would remind everyone involved that this behavior never took place in the philadelphia district attorney's office. but the women on city council say the emails undermine the public's trust, in the prosecutor's to make sound decisions. reporting, city hall, todd quinones, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> todd, thank you. >> fresh off his official

appointment to become philadelphia's next police commissioner, deputy commissioner richard ross stopped by "eyewitness news" this morning, we asked what he might do differently from commissioner ramsey. >> talking about passing the baton, building on what he has done. 's great guy,'s great police commissioner, arguably one of the biggest names in the business. so to erase what he has done, i mean, would be ludacrous. but clearly you got to continue to build. it is a challenging time for law end foesment, and anything that doesn't recognize that is foolish. it will be difficult for us, we're up for the challenge. >> ross bass was born and raised in philadelphia, has spent 26 years on the force. he will assume his new tight until january after commissioner ramsey retires. police are investigating an early morning robbery, at the north american motor in's on city avenue. actually the second robbery reported that the motel just this week. another person was robbed there, early tuesday morning, and it is unclear what was taken. >> a philadelphia police officer is recovering today after getting dragged by a car in frankford.

police say it began when the officer stopped the car that was reportedly stolen. the driver took off, drag that officer about a half block, and then crashed. the driver is in custody. the officer suffered minor injuries. >> and, in delaware, fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused material to ignite inside a wilmington warehouse. that fire broke out around 3:00 this morning at the building on heal street. the fire at one point was at two alarms, but it was placed under control about an hour later. >> developing right now, us war planes are back in kurdish troops and new offense i have to recapture strategic city in northern iraq. military leaders are hoping that this new push will cut off some supply chains to isis fighters. cbs correspondent charlie dagada reports. >> reporter: some whatever you three is smoke rising from the latest in a series of air strikes, targeting isis millitant inside and around the city city. we have lost count of the number of air strikes this

morning, and overnight, that have been launched into that vicinity. they've also been firing artillery from the mountain into the city. this is all part of a major offensive to re-takes. we understand 7,500 kurdish forces have closing in on three sides of this city trying to push isis out. and one of the reasons it sits between the two isis strong holds of r a/k/a in syria and mose nel iraq. trying to cut off supply routes between those two cities. it is not going to be easy. kurdish force that is we spoke to said they fear snipers. now the city may be ripe with booby traps, homemade bombs, beneath the roads and inside buildings. there is always the concern of suicide bombers, either on foot or in vehicles packed with explosives. charlie dagada, cbs news. iraq. the future of cable giant comcast in the city of philadelphia is being decided

newly-released videos are sparking allegation action of force by police in virginia, we do want to warn you you may finds this video disturbing. >> three officers used their stun guns on lynnewood lambert junior in may of 2013. he was in custody for allegedly causing a disturbance at a motel. two hours after the confrontation with police, lambert was dead. >> they are saying it is justified, because they have no other answer to why they used so much force with a man who was already restrained. >> lambert's family filed the $25 million lawsuit accusing police of using excessive force and violating his civil rights. lawyers representing those officers say they did nothing wrong and their actions did

not cause lambert's death. they cited cause of death of accuse cocaine intoxication. >> federal aviation administration looking into series of lazer strikes on news helicopters in new york and new jersey, it all happened last night and some of those were caught on camera, too core upon dent chris con cleve with the details. >> our own chopper two, the crew aboard chopper four became the target after lazer strike today, lazer attacked targeting our wabc news copter tonight. >>hree local tv news helicopters became the story over new york and new jersey last night, all report being struck by dangerously bright green lazers. >> just did it again. >> attacks were caught on camera by two of the crews. pilot and reporter from our new york station wcbs says the lazers hit his cockpit several times. >> when we were looking there, we got lazers, same time nypd was right next to us. >> the news crews guided police to the location of the

to deal with t so looking at future weather, showing you we're almost out of this, should get breaks, that's about 6:00 this evening, so start to dry out. in the we get the sunshine, some little white, blue, purples, cool air rushing in behind this won't see the snowflakes here, but feel the cool air headed toward the weekends, cloudy skies today, mild temperatures, low 60s, and breezy afternoon gusts to up 25 miles per hour. low tonight in the mid 40's. take a look at the winds, what we are expecting about 4:00 this afternoon, 29-mile per hour gusts, you can see in philadelphia, 32 miles per hour down this wildwood, as we get into our thursday evening. >> friday, 30 to 35-mile per hour gust range, even as we get into saturday, afternoon, so that will be the thing that sticks with us, even though, we will get rid of the rain, as we go couple of hours from

now, 57 degrees currently in philadelphia, 48 in mount pocono, 55 in reading, about 60 down in atlantic city, zoom in, look at places like pottstown, 353 for you, 57 palmyra, so mild, temperatures aren't bad out there. once this low pressure system tracks through, cold air will be coming in behind t so get the sunshine on friday. but temperatures will be in the 50's, and they'll stick with us on saturday, unfortunately, saturday still breezy, but by sunday i think that's when we will get the real nice effects every our high pressure sunshine and temperatures lifting up little bit into the up ear's, so here are your temperatures friday, saturday, sunday, you can see saturday is the cool spot with high of 52. but remember, folks, we have been warmer than we should be, right? the average high this time of year, 58 degrees. so even though we will be little cool saturday, we are going back to the 60s as we head to next week. and, a little perspective, we only got 14 days until thanksgiving, 18 days until the average high of 50 degrees, 28 days until the average snowfall, and 40 days until the official start of winter. not there yet.
