correspondent hannah daniels has more. >> it's a turning point. >> reporter: actor charlie sheen ended days of rumors by telling nbc's matt lauer that he is hiv positive. >> i thought i had brain tumor. i thought it was over. after a battery of tests and spinal taps all that crap, um, they walk in the room and said, boom. >> shaken whose 50 says he was diagnosed four years ago about the same time he was fired as lead actor of the cbs sitcom two and a half men for his ear radick behavior. >> what's not to love. it's my life. winning. >> reporter: sheen has a history of substance abuse and bad behavior including highly publicizeed lie yea sons with prostitutes. he's been married three times and has five children. he says he toll his he can wifes about his diagnosis and has been on hiv medication which has made his viral load undetectable. >> have you had unprotected sex on any occasions since your

diagnosis? >> yes. but the two people that i did that with, um, were under the care of my doctor and they were completely warned ahead of time. >> reporter: sheen says people who knew of his status have black mailed him and that he's paid out million to keep them quiet. he hopes his statement will reduce the stigma of hiv. hannah daniels for cbs3 "eyewitness news". coming up in about 10 minutes dr. rob danoff will join us in studio to talk about sheen's diagnosis and why hiv is not a death sentence any more. french officials say they're seeking a second fugitive directly involved in the paris attacks. just minutes ago the brother of suture at a salah abdeslam made a public plea to his brother asking him to turn himself in. french president francois holland declares war on terrorism and is urging the u.s. and russia to unite in the fight. hole land will meet with president obama next tuesday in washington and with putin in moscow next thursday. jonathan vision leanne know reports from paris.

>> reporter: police seize add car with belgium license plates this morning in northern paris that may be link to the terror attacks. several of the terrorists have ties to belgium including the suspect who got away. 26-year-old salah abdeslam. overnight security forces carried out more than 100 raids in france and belgium. police seized weapons and arrest the more than a dozen suspects. a deal la robbie hopes the police catch the attackers who are still in the run. he was in the theater when terrorists struck friday night. >> he brown down as he told us he was separated from his girlfriend who was shot in the shoulder. >> i feel so bad he said, like a coward for leaving her. >> some parisians are still on edge and many are angry about what happened here. a group of french muslims have started a social media campaign to condemn the attacks. >> what they did is terror and this is not -- this is not islam i'm practicing. >> reporter: islamic militants

claimed responsibility for the attacks which killed 129 people, france is demanding its european allies support military action against isis. secretary of state john kerry who met tuesday with french president holland says more needs to be done. >> we have to step up our efforts to hit them at the core where they're planning these things. >> reporter: for a second day french war planes slammed isis targets in syria. a millersville university student studying abroad in paris was inside that soccer stadium on friday fry during the attacks. caitlyn bore land from lancaster says she heard the loud booms and people began to scatter. despite the harrowing experience caitlyn says she wants to stay in paris. >> i would be remiss if i left them. we were terrified and broken together and i mean we're going to do our best to heal together and create a new daily life

together. >> in the meantime caitlyn's family continues to watch the news from paris and hopes she'll remain safe while studying abroad. and stay with "eyewitness news" for developments surrounding the attacks in paris. we'll have updates for you on tv and online at cbsphilly.com. meanwhile russia confirms the metro jet plane that broke apart over egypt nearly three weeks ago was part of a terrorist act. investigators say they found traces of explosives in the debris which indicates that a bomb went off inside the plane. russia's president offered a $50 million reward for information leading to an arrest and vowed to hunt down those responsible. 224 people were killed when that plane crashed on the sinai peninsula on halloween. all right. turning to our weather right now. a little bit cooler than it's been but really, justin, this is a normal november kind of day. let's check outside on the sky deck. how does it feel out there right now? >> it's really not that bad. compared to yesterday it does feel cooler as you mentioned but

this is where we should be and it's nice in the sunshine. still feels pretty warm outside. temperatures much cooler though, compared to 24 hours ago. check out this temperature change. about 11, 16 degrees colder depending where you are but still it is very pleasant outside. nice little breeze to deal with but we have the sunshine for the most part. a few weather fair clouds out there. 55 at the airport in philadelphia as well as wilmington. chilly 42 degrees up in the poconos this hour. and some of the suburbs still in the upper 40s. currently even with the sunshine doylestown and quakertown also in the upper 40s. wind direction has shifted out of the east to northeast so that's bringing that cooler push of air in so that settles in for another about 12 hours or so. then we'll warm it up as we head storm scan3 is quiet. fair weather clouds passing by overall just a mostly sunny day today. forecast high couple degrees above average get up to 58 for the city, mid 50s for the shore and upper 40s in the poconos we'll bring back 60 in our forecast along with rain chances. we'll time that out for you coming up in a few minutes. erika, back over to you. >> justin, thank you.

the please touch museum work working to pull itself out of bankruptcy. the popular children's museum is getting a much needed boost all thanks to a generous donation. "eyewitness news" reporter greg argos joins us now in fairmount park with the details for us. greg g afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon erika. donations are coming in from people who really want to see the please touch museum stay open and in in in in sizes for a few dollars in one case someone gave more than 3 million. the please too much mu seem should be around for generations to come. today lynn mcmaster the current ceo announcing a multi million dollars anonymous toe donation. >> today red letter day for the institute institution. >> reporter: $3.25 million pledged to help get the museum out of bankruptcy. pushing the total raised to 4.86 million. >> we are announcing that we're almost halfway to the mid point of our $10 million fundraising campaign.

society. thanks for coming in this noon. >> you're welcome. >> treatments have changed so much since the '80's. how can somebody live better with hiv? >> they've changed the medications pree tremendously. years back, you have to take them is a certain time like five, 10 pills a day. now you may take one pill that's a combination of three or four medication up to four pills a day and do okay with not that many side effects but the thing is you have to take it every day and there is no cure. >> right. >> the big thing is, hiv is a virus. so these pills suppress or decrease the levels of the virus in the blood and that's why they're effective. so people are living longer almost full lives with it but they're never cured of it. >> because people are perhaps living longer this hasn't been a hot topic recently. is this an important -- is it important to be talking about hiv still. >> it's huge. i'm glad you guys are talking about it. over a million -- 200,000 people have hiv. one in eight do not even know they have it. people can be walking around today and not know that they have it. they can be positive and perhaps

give it to someone else. so it's recommended by the centers for disease control anyone between the ages of 13 and 64 to see their doctor and get an hiv test. because you don't know years back you might have been with someone or maybe you had a needle stick so it's very very important not everyone with hiv has symptoms. so please get tested. >> think of this has a sexually transmitted disease and charlie sheen mentioned he had been having sex with two women under the guidance of his doctor. is there a way to not transmit it? >> so, you know, it's always recommended someone has hiv to use protection. always. >> right. >> something called pre exposure prophylactics. say you're in a relationship with someone who has hiv. you can take this pill unneed to take it once day every day. >> that prep pill, that's what it's called. >> yes. it's pre exposure phil lacks tick or prep you take it every day. you're in a relationship with someone you take it all the time time. the whole idea it keeps the virus from multiplying in your system or from you getting it

southward. yesterday's high 70 degrees. the front came through yesterday evening. now we have a wind off the ocean. so it's a cooler flow. ocean temperatures in the 50s right now that's knocking the air temps back to where they should be. mid 50s cherry hill, millville new jersey, dover delaware, at 57 this hour. similar numbers around the suburbs of philadelphia. mullica hill voorhees all the mid 50s this hour. cooler to the north and west. doylestown still stuck at 49 degrees. 50 in pottstown. and allentown. high pressure over new england locking this into dry weather pattern just a few clouds moving on in. here's our next storm system allotted of rain across the center of the country in the midwest. that's going to take its time to get here. so looks like thursday is our best shot to see steady rain. break it down for you today. again high pressure keeping us nice and dry. tomorrow bringing back some 60s however clouds start to roll in. ahead of this cold front. but it looks like the rain doesn't get here until thursday morning. there could be some steady rain at times maybe pick up a a half an inch of rain. mild on thursday. mid and upper 60s with the

filling in for katie the last few months while she's on maternity leave tomorrow you get to sleep in. katie is coming back. >> nicole brewer and i visited katie last week to meet those beautiful twin girls. parker janice and kadin if any they were born august 26th and oh they are keeping mom and dad busy. katie toll us they have absolutely stolen their hearts. we asked when it really hit her that she was a mom. >> as soon as i heard them crying, the tears just flowed. it was surreal. truely. it was a miracle for me to look at their little faces and realize they're mine. i'm a mommy now. it was amazeing. >> aww both girls have katie's blond locks but kadin looks more like dad steve and parker looks like she did when she was a baby. i'm telling you parker's cheeks are too much. justin. please do help us welcome back katie tomorrow to cbs3 tomorrow morning and at noon. we know you have a beautiful baby at home too. >> he'll be five months next week. >> my gosh, flies by. >> she looks great. katie looks great.
