12:17 pm
we continue to track this wet weather in the delaware valley at the moment just gray cast on "skycam 3" overlooking the ben franklin bridge, off in the distance you see at least glimmer of light of day here, but generally the skies will be gray for the rest of the day, probably want to have that wet weather gear ready to go. we take you on tour, give you sense what's going on out there. down along the shore points, out in cape may courthouse, at least little further inland, south winds at 8 miles per hour, i just saw it checking in, into the teens, so your a casino of haphazard with the winds flow, straight up out of the south, hence the warmth, 61 degrees right now, cape may courthouse, flirting with 60 in kutztown, and the flecks indicating there is some rainout, there continues to push ever slowly, through our area. snow is cold front number one, look at nice wide zoom of storm scan3, this is a big system, brought blizzard conditions, to colorado, portions of the central planes, now, it is pushing away, and we're going to deal with wet weather because of it. here is system two. that will your nerve cold front for us by this weekend
12:18 pm
to bring in the reinforcements. so, this is the warm test will get for the next seven dates, 67 degrees, currently at the airport, look at how much colder it is when we zoom it on out. back toward twin cities for example. we are below freezing at this point. not going to be thatold here, at least at the height of the day, facing 30's for at least overnight lows in our near future. here is the rest of today shakes out however, we jump it forward, and scattered with wet weather but future weather still wants to pick up on one big slug every moisture later today. so in time for the kids to be getting out of school, you're hitting the schuylkill on your drive home. it could get awfully dicey out there. not severe weather, certainly, but enough to slow you down with poor timing no less. meanwhile, we move things forward, and i say kate probably still something to track by the time she is on the air at 11:00 tonight. but things are clearing out. really quickly, i do want to jump things forward for you, give sense of what's going on in the eyewitness weather seven day, so let's get you right to it, shall we? sixty-seven as we mention, already hitting the high. we keep it kind of steady for the next few hour hours, then
12:19 pm
tomorrow the sun returns, but the temperatures obviously drop. this is seasonable, sunshine and 56 degrees. notice it gets cooler by sunday however. that's when the secondary cold front comes in, reinforces the chill, and that is a dose, my friends, of december. upper four's, at best on sunday, mid 40's monday, but at least the sun is going to be with us. so that's the one bright spot of the forecast, meantime, have the umbrella rid, certainly needing it as we go throughout the rest of the day. erika, we send it over to you. >> all right, katie, thank you so much. well the newest spike lee movie is already sparking conversations and it is not even in the theatres yet. shy rack is re imaging of the greek satire. and after young girl is accidentally chilled in chicago increasingly deadly gang war the beautiful love of one of the gang leaders tries to bring about pies by a sex boycott that moves into a global movement. >> it all started with a gorgeous sister.
12:20 pm

12:21 pm
working with such a visionary like spike lee, it is real a dream come true. and having such a strong message behind it and saying hey, we have to address this, and as a community, this is our issue. >> strong woman, your character, let's talk about her. who is she? where does she get her strength? >> i think she finds her strength as the movie goes on, she has mentor played by angela bass he will, miss helen, who leads her to woman named lima bowie, liberian, activist, who helped ends the second civil war in liberia. so my characters sees this woman, inspired to orchestrate her own sex strike, her own community, so gets all of the women in her community to band together, and lock it up. so that the men in the community will end the gun and gang violence. >> now you mention 2003 in liberia, not a part of just a platt twist. that will real did i happen, right? >> that actually happened, i actually had the pleasure of
12:22 pm
meeting her this morning. >> what was that like? >> she is amazing, and she supports the film and the message, whole heart educationally, and just gave me, you know, little tips, and things that she went through. and it was so amazing to speak with her. >> it seems just from the preview, kind of blending of different genre in the film. is that one of the strength do you think? >> we use sat tire as device to tell the story, satire uses humor to soften the below sometimes of very difficult situation, and speak has used being genre throughout his entire career. this is not anything new to him. and, you know, the concept of the story, we got it, we practically just took it, put it right here in chicago and he and his co-writer kevin added their own things to it. but it is built pretty much the classic.
12:23 pm
>> fantastic. one thing i love that carried over, samuel jackson as the narrate err almost, felt to me like a play practically. >> i mean, it is based off after play, from the play list. so, not crate i you feel that way. as i filmed it it very much felt like a play, all of the elements, the dance, the singing, we speaker in verse in most of the film. so yes, it is very theatrical. >> just couple of seconds left, quickly, what do you want people to take away from this film? >> i hope that people will look at this film and see that it oval takes one person to spark a movement, get their community mobilized behind them, make a change, it is so necessary, my heart goes out to people across the country and across the world dealing with this kind of violence, but we can make a difference. >> just takes one. >> thank you so much for your time. congratulations. >> thank you. >> we'll be right back, once again, opens december 4th.
