this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". the thanksgiving feast is all digested and now people are busy shopping for "black friday" bargains. burning off calories from shop who have been out all night long looking for the best deals. we check in with reporters across the area to see what it is like out there if you are getting ready to head out. while shopping might be the big story today, the weather is also the big story. it's been beautiful. barely needed a jacket. >> it's been great. you know what's funny, i headed out for my dinner, i had my jacket, because i felt like i should take t i didn't need it until i came out later in the evening. >> it cooled down last night, but when the sun was out yesterday, and for the parade yesterday, it was almost -- if felt like spring. >> certainly doesn't feel like we're wrapping up november, that's for sure. today see another unbelievably warm day. but we are starting with some problems this morning, we've got fog out there, so any of my early shoppers, or any friends headed out to work in the stores, because you know

the folks that staff the stores have to get there early, so you can find your bargains, see the visibility map here shows .3 after mile of visibility in trenton, see the same story wilmington, lancaster, millville at half mile, too, see northern delaware, they, too, are seeing problems in atlantic city also. we are under dense fog advisory until 9:00 a.m. for portions of northern delaware, also southern and central new jersey, and so just be careful if you head out the door. i know you might be in a had your toy get to the stars, but watch out for the fog, get there safely. 42 degrees currently in philadelphia, 36 allentown, about 37 in reading, see 42 down in atlantic city again having visibility issues. temperatures very mild from cape may right on up to barnegat light. take a lock at rehoboth beach at 45 degrees. gives awe idea we will be pretty warm today. so headed out for your "black friday" shopping, look at these temperatures, we're rolling up to high of 66 today. and we will get mix of sun and clouds, but some clouds starting to move in later in

the day. so, perhaps, maybe traveling today, right now, doing fine. we've got relatively clear skies. fog not slowing us down at philadelphia international airport. and as we take a look at the airports across the country, fog is showing up at jfk, but we don't have any delays yet. it is early, i would keep an eye on that, but really not bad. chicago o'hare also doing okay. we do have weather in the center of the country. but so far so good. live look at storm scan3, shows you, you have relatively clear skies, as we start to zoom out, though, see the stormy weather ahead of cold front. this is what i was saying, kind of causing little bit of trouble for those every you in the center of the country today. as it travels across to us, rain, not snow. see the coal air there providing some snow, looking to the north, and it is going to catch up with us on saturday. so let me time this out for you, show you how it works out. a the love it starts to fall apart, i'll table that, that's fantastic. 7:00 p.m. saturday do you start to see some of the showers. i think will be late afternoon, early evening, into the overnight hours. 10:00 a.m. sunday, you see it starting to try and mover out. i think few showers still remain before we finally do

clear out and even get little sunshine working later into the day sunday. so maybe you're out hanging the light this weekend. saturday i think the early part of the day is your better bet. watching out for this afternoon and evening showers, high of 58. notice cooling down sunday. and sunday, the early part of the day, will not be your best bet. you want to get out later. then remember if we have little rain, things can get slippery so watch out on the ladders, folks, always have somebody out there to make sure you don't slip. 66 degrees, today, though, after we get rid of the fog. it will be pretty nice day out, there mix of sun and clouds, pretty mild tonight, too, the clouds move in with low of 48. some showers throughout the seven day forecast, so the first batch will be that saturday night into sunday morning, you can see it, cools us down monday sunny and 50. more showers headed our way as we heed into tuesday and wednesday. diana? >> kyla, thanks. now a look at your roadways. here is a live look at the blue route southbound at baltimore pike. this is right near the springfield mall and could heat up little later on as shoppers start hitting the roads this morning, switching now to the ben franklin bridge, headed into the city. still looking good on all

major city roads this morning. and in mass transit, septa trolley trains such as norristown, broad street, and the market frankford lines, will operate on modified weekday schedule for "black friday" today. as are the city and suburban bus route, some of the bus routes are operating with additional service to and from local malls where all every you are looking to head out, check septa.org for septa's route schedules. >> a lot of shoppers are up, and seeking out those "black friday" deals, some have been bargain hunting since yesterday. new york stock exchange, good morning, jill. >> reporter: good morning, diane a the stock exchange is open for half day of trading after taking a break yesterday for thanksgiving. on wednesday, the dow gained one point, the nasdaq added 13, today's kids day here. traders will be bringing their kids to work and toys for tots will be ringing l opening bell. ready, set, shop. today is "black friday", unofficial start to the holiday spending season. some trends this year, more people are shopping on line, and on their mobile devices, the sales are spread out, with stores offering discounts earlier than ever this year to try to get jump start on sales. in all, americans will be spending about $80 billion on line and in stores between thanksgiving and cyber monday. >> all right, we're already getting guide idea of the hottest gifts, add obe says apple products like air two are flying off shelves, and it is all about star wars, no surprise, toys related to the movie big sill ers, so are beats by dr. dre headphones. and, when it comes to paying the bill for all of

those gift, americans aren't planning to go into debt over it. seven in ten americans say they'll be use using cash or debit cards and putting the amex away. >> thanks, jill. for many people, shopping on "black friday" is an annual ritual. jan carabeo, she caught up with shoppers early this morning, in king of prussia. >> reporter: diane, a good morning, toys "r" us are taking that marathon shopping tradition to heart. toys "r" us stores across the country have been open since 5:00 p.m. yesterday. so, now, we're more than 12 hours later, and we are experience ago bit after lull in the store right now, and why not? people came out late last night. now they're going home getting some rest, will be back out here, later on this morning, but you can see the employees have really taken advantage of this bit after lull to get everything re-stocked. this is the front of the store, the main aisle. these are the door busters. hot holiday toys, the best deals. we've got cool dolls,

electronics up front here going from anywhere from $20 to $100. so various sales and prices available for everyone here. a little bit after lull again in the action, we have couple of shoppers moving around the store. but really was pack here at 5:00 when the doors opened. and over at the king of prussia mall. right across the street that was pack, too, it is now closed scheduled to reopen at 6:00. but his is how people were feeling late last night. take a listen. >> i came out here to shop, as well. i heard that there were some pretty good deals. and everything was open late. which is very nice. >> got some good deals a loft good deals going on in the mall over there. >> so marathon shopping here at toys r us, at 6:00 those doors open at king of prussia, where we're going to be at 6:00 to see the excitement build over there. here, on "black friday", reporting in king of prussia, jan carabeo, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". and mother nature cooperated with philadelphia, the weather was perfect for the 96th annual thanksgiving day parade on the parkway.

the philadelphia fire department will return to the scene of deadly fire in nicetown today, trying to prevent another tragedy. they'll make sure people have working smoke detectors on the 1900 block of bruner street. a man died there yesterday morning, when a fire broke out in his home. firefighters aren't sure what started that fire, but the house did not have working smoke detectors in it. if you can't afford a smoke detector, you can call 311 to get a free one from the city. >> take a look at these surveillance pictures, that man is wanted for killing a clerk at the quick and go convenience store on doctor

martin luther king, jr. boulevard in willingboro. police say the victim and gunman walked out of the store together on wednesday night before the shooting. if you recognize this man, you are asked to give the willingboro police department a call. donald trump is denying he made fun after reporter with a disability earlier this week, he discuss add washington post story that debunk dollars claims that muslims in north jersey celebrated the 9/11 attacks. some people believe trump was making fun of the reporter, surge, who suffers from a chronic muscular disease, that limit his arm movement. >> talking about northern new jersey draws written by nice reporter, now the poor guy, you got to see this guy, oh, i don't know what i said, oh, i don't remember. he's going i don't remember, maybe that's what i said. this is 14 years ago, still, they didn't do a retraction. the new york times, who he currently works for, is calling trump actions

41 degrees in chesterfield, new jersey, again, cloudy skies where educated is, and he says foggy morning, but above freezing, hey, that's looking on the bright side, right? even sent me pretty shot of the moon this morning. so where he is, you see the foggy moon out there. kind of felt that last night too when i was head in the for my thanksgiving dinner. going with this one, 38 degrees, good morning, fill if i, love the picture, there beautiful picture. he doesn't have the fog to contend with as much. and he says on your mark, get set, shop. but watch out for the fog. this is very good. this is very good advice, i like t let's head over now to what's happening right now with visibility. you can see, we do have reduced visibility in spots here. millville, wilmington, lancaster, just at .3, .3 of a mile. half mile visibility in places like wildwood and also atlantic city, that's why we're under dense fog advisory, also northern delaware, too, so, look out for that if you are headed out the door, just know that you might want to take your time. make sure. i know you are headed to the stores and looking out for all

of the barring asker, takes it easy, 41 in philadelphia, check out mount pocono, already at the 50 degrees mark. forty-one in atlantic city, we zoom in here, little cooler, in places like quakertown, at 32, 35 in pottstown, and about 36 in mt. holly. so we do have few cool spots. we will all see the temperatures start to pick up getting throughout the day today expecting high of 66 degrees. we get little sunshine in there, too. clouds will be rolling in this afternoon. and that is because we do have a cold front tracking toward us. now, some stormy weather ahead of that, certainly, you can see, that in chicago, seeing the showers. icy conditions in parts of kansas, oklahoma, thankfully for us, it will be little bit of rain. not going to get here until is the day. looking at airport delays, don't have any this morning. looking great around our area, not just here, but you can see zooming out even though we do have the weather to contends with not so bad. we time it out. show this front kind of starts to fall apart little bit, it makes its way toward us, not until later saturday that 7:00 p.m. that we start to see some showers, they stick with us overnight, as we get into sunday morning, then they

clear out, and we're being g -- looking good. today pretty nice day, high of 66 degrees. and we start to see the fog dissipate tonight. getting down to 48. and some clouds moving in. and quick look at your seven day forecast shows those showers coming in saturday night into sunday, then we cool down by monday, high of 50 degrees, with some sunshine coming our way, little more seen starting our day. >> i could do this all winter long, thanks, kyla. >> taking a look at your roadways this morning, this is live look at route 63, westbound, woodhaven road at thorton road. this is right near the philadelphia mills mall, for all of you shoppers headed out later today looking good, open, and free flowing. switching now to i95, delaware county, you can see the fog here, and this come pact the roadways for early "black friday" shoppers, heading in these early morning hours, so use extra caution. switching to mass transit, patco speed line trains, between philadelphia and haddonfield, are still on special holiday schedule today until this afternoon, new jersey transit bus routes, for

any and all info, and for updated schedules for specific routes, be sure to go to nj transit.org. septa trolley trains, such as and frankford line willreet operate on modified weekday schedule for "black friday" today. california historic drought is taking a major toll on the state's wine industry. the dry conditions are keeping many vines from producing grapes and drying up wells and other irrigation. as chris martinez shows us, hope on the horizon, and its name is el nino. >> at the state vineyard, you can't miss the impact of california's drought. >> these are all definitely dead. >> this year's grape harvest is taking a devastating hit. >> vine here typically produce 1 ton of grape's only produce about 200 pounds per achier.
