feel like you stepped in to winter wonderland and we'll take through. good evening, i'm ukee washington. >> i'm jessica dean. those stories are straight ahead but first tonight rain is moving into the region and it's going to be sticking around the next couple of days. >> meteorologist kate bilo has more of what's happening right now. it's getting a little messy out there. scattered showers light to moderate rain across portions of the area tonight. gotten off to slow start here tonight but as you can see it's picking up intensity a bit. darker green shading off to our west. off the coast as well but this is going to continue to move in through the overnight hours and a batch of steadier rain on the way early tomorrow morning. as you said, this is not going anywhere any time soon. we can expect this to last not only through the day tomorrow, but into wednesday as well. you can see steady rain here along the turnpike over chester county. some scattered light showers around the philadelphia metro area but again this does continue to intensify as a stronger storm pushes in by wednesday. temperatures right now luckily we're well above freezing even

"eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live at city hall with more about the issues on the minds of those attended and also what the mayor elect had to say tonight. david? >> reporter: jessica, a lot of issues on the table mayor elect kenny will move into his new office behind me at city hall in a little more than a month. tonight he wanted to hear from the people and he heard a lot of different opinions. when mayor elect kenney took the stage in front of more than 300 at central high school, the crowd paid close attention to what the future of philadelphia might look like. >> there's a lot of smart people out there and up here who are

going to help us move the city for. >> reporter: kenney talk about growing up in the city he'll soon run. he was leck to do city council in 1991. and served until early 2015 when he dropped out to run for mayor. one after another audience members begged kenney to help with failing schools. >> it is horrific that our children have to go through this and this day and age. please help our children. >> schools can be and will be the center of the universe when it comes to delivery of services. >> reporter: people in the crowd seemed to like his candida approach to meeting with his constituents. >> he's a guy who can hammer down and gethe job done. the question is how much of everybody's request is he going to get done. >> hit a brick wall in dealing with senior citizens services for the city and i wanted to see if i could put that bug in his ear tonight. >> reporter: kenney talked about crime and talked about his mission to lower the statistics. he praised his incoming police commissioner richard ross of the after the town hall meeting we caught up with the mayor-leck.

>> it would be nice to be mayo mayor-elect forever but that won't be the case so come january i'm sure there will be times people aren't as happy with me our with our administration as they are tonight. >> reporter: mayor elect kenney will hold four more town meeting. he'll become philadelphia's 99th mayor january 4th, 2016. reporting live at city hall tonight david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> david, thank you. new tonight a fire in philadelphia's olney neighborhood sends three people including two firefighters to the hospital. chopper three over the scene on well lynns avenue. the fire broke out in a garage there. we're told all the injuries are non-life threatening. and the cause of that fire is now under investigation. a gruesome double murder and suicide rocks a quiet montgomery county community. police found three adults dead in a home on the one had undread block of diamond street in hatfield last night. two others in the home including a four-year-old child were unharmed. the shooter is identified as 48-year-old paul marshall. neighbors say the victims were

marshall' girlfriend hernia son much police say the shooting appears to be the results of domestic dispute. chicago police officer charged with murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old la quon mcdonald is free on bail tonight. officer jason van dyke allegedly shot and killed mcdonald firing 16 times in october of 2014. he was charged with first degree murder last week with a bond set at $1.5 million. city documents reveal van dyke had 17 civilian complaints on his record including three for using excessive force. local planned parenthood clinics increasing security in the wake avenue dead al tax at a clinic in colorado spring. this comes as robert lewis dear the man accused of of killing three people at a colorado springs plan parenthood appeared in court. the ceo of southern new jersey plan parenthood says patients should not worry about their safety during office visits. >> just make it a more

look at ocean city in cape may county. certainly if this were a friday night in july, there would be hoards of people on theoards but pretty quiet outside tonight. if you'll take a walk on the boardwalk if you live down the shore definitely have the rain gear to the next couple of days. let's take look at the big picture here. storm scan3 again you can see pretty poe 10 storm system. the center of the storm right about here and it's stirring a lot of moisture up into portions of minnesota and wisconsin where we've got heavy snow and heavy rain. a sweep of dry air coming around the back edge that storm. that's the dry air that will sweep in here by thursday knocking the temperature down. in the meantime one boundary lifting in our area today. here's the front. once that cold front comes through that will be end of the storm. it doesn't come through until late in the day on wednesday. temperatures on their way up which is good news because we do not need temps near freezing. 45 in blue bell. 50 in point pleasant beach and in wayne 41 degrees. here's your november calendar. a is he of red four days below average one of those day what
