reaction from republicans on the campaign trail. good sunday morning, everyone it is december 6th, just about 7:00 o'clock this morning. i'm diana rocco in for nicole brewer. lets get started with meteorologist justin drabick. it was a chilly start to the morning but it will be okay. >> yeah, it is deceiving this morning. we are waking up widespread frost, lower 20's in spots. this is one of the coldest morning we have had all season long but don't worry, sun will be out. temperatures will be in the 50's. >> sound good. >> through much of the upcoming workweek. check it out in the next few moment, throw that heavier coat on. wind is not strong. we are not battling harsh wind chills but temperatures are coal. you get that with clear skies and cold wind. that dense air settles in at the surface. north and west, 23 in degrees in reading and allentown. thirty-three at the airport. mid 20's in south jersey and millville. look at the suburbs just outside of the city, 25 mount holly, new jersey. the pottstown 24. willow grove at 28 degrees. so far our temperature has dropped to 33 at the airport.

that ties, the coldest low so far, this fall season. now there are some fog issues especially north and west of the city, visibility down less than a half mile in reading, two and a half mile visibility in allentown. you have fog and you have below freezing temperatures watch out for freezing fog. those roadways could be a little bit slick this morning especially in the bridges and overpasses. quiet on storm scan three as that high pressure system remains in control a lot of clear skies this morning, it is cold, temperatures in the 20's and 30's. by the afternoon that sunshine goes to work, rebound us nicely in the 50's. highs, in the upper 50's around philadelphia in the sunshine mid 50's at the shore and poconos we're talking about a high above average of 50 degrees. we will talk about what to expect for the week ahead when i show you the seven day forecast in a few minutes. back to you. new this morning, police are searching for three suspects, who fled, after leading a state trooper on a brief pursuit around 2:30 the trooper pulled over a silver pontiac on i-95 south near

stadium exit. as trooper was walking toward the car, trio sped away. the suspects then ditched the car and fled on foot at the intersection of passyunk and 28th street. they are still at large, this morning. in london a stabbing at a subway station is now being treated at a terrorist incident. it happened around 7:00 o'clock saturday at, an underground station, in east london, police say a man was threatening people with the knife, one person was seriously injured. the lone attacker was taserd and taken into custody by police. some eyewitnesses said, that he shouted, this is for syria. last week british parliament approved air strikes on islamic state targets in syria. president obama will address the nation tonight about the steps that the government is now taking to keep americans safe, following the san bernardino massacre. he will deliver the prime time speech from the oval office and you can see it right here on cbs-3 at 8:00 o'clock tonight. meanwhile cbs news

correspondent chris martinez has the very latest on the investigation. >> reporter: fbi agents raided a home in riverside, california early saturday morning. shooting rampage suspect syed rizwan farook and his family used to live next door. >> i heard windows crashing, garage door being torn, the break nothing, you know, by the law enforcement. >> reporter: house belonged to a friend of farouk's who purchased two assault rivals used in the shooting that killed 14 people. the fbi investigation is focusing on the couple's ties to terrorist organizations. >> so far we have no indication that these killers are part of an organized larger group or form part of a cell. >> reporter: yet according to a unnamed federal law enforcement office l.a. times reports that syed rizwan farook had some kind of contact with people from the front in syria and radical that bob group in somalia. his wife, 29 year-old tashfeen malik pledged her support to isis and its leader, shown here, in an on

themselves. >> you don't stop the bad guys by taking away our guns, you stop the bad guys by using our guns. >> reporter: this week obama and senate democrats, pushed legislation, that would prevent those on the no fly list from buying guns, and toughen existing background checks at gun shows and on line, it was blocked on capitol hill on thursday. >> wednesday's shooting in san bernardino has been labeled the third deadliest mass shooting in the united states, in the last, 20 years. live from the cbs-3 news center, cheri greg for kyw news radio for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a driver is injured after hitting a telephone pole and the the burst into flames. it happened in mount laurel new jersey at the the corner of the south church street and could be he will will stone drive. fire fighters were initially unable to fight the fire because of the live wires, but they were eventually able to get them flames under control no word this morning on the condition of the driver, or the the cause of the crash. the temple owls fell short

saturday as they tried to win their very first conference championship in almost 50 years. the owls entered yesterday's american conference champion ship game with the houston cuters with a ten-two season record. coach matt ruhl's team never recovered after two critical first half turnovers. houston scored when they needed to and temple struggled, several times, getting that ball near the goal line. the the final score, houston 24 temple 13. conflicting reports this morning, the video of chicago police officer jason van dyke shooting laquan mcdonald 16 times is enough for prosecutors to charge him with first degree murder. now the city released new document from responding officers telling a very different story. ana warner reports from new york. >> reporter: seventeen year-old laquan mcdonald is seen walking away from officers before he is shot by officer jason van dyke but at least four officers claimed investigators that mcdonald was moving toward van dyke. van dyke said mcdonald swung a knife and continued to advance. another officer said mcdonald got closer and closer to the officers. at in time does the video show mcdonald approach the officers. it does show after van dyke shot mcdonald the 17 year-old laid prone on the pavement as shots continued, 16 round in

14 seconds but some accounts found quite different two claimed he was attempting to get up while still arm with the knife. van dyke faces murder charges. he told up investigators he feared for his life. he told them he had seen this a 2012 bulletin warning officers of a weapon which appeared to be a knife, but was actually capable of firing a bullet. van dyke's attorney had no comment on the discrepancies between the report and the video. the the release of the report follows demonstrations and accusations of a police cover up. on tuesday mayor rahm emmanuel fired the cities police superintendent but that has not satisfied some opponents. >> there are calls for the mayor to resign, would you consider that? >> no. >> we have a process call the election. voters spoke. >> reporter: shooting is under investigation bite u.s. attorney's office. ana warner, cbs news, new york. protesters hit the streets

millville at 25 degrees. dover, delaware below freezing at 31. newark coming in at 30. surrounding suburbs of philadelphia, into new jersey well below freezing, upper 20's voorhees and mullica and woodstown and chalfont a chilly 27 degrees. it gets colder further north and west. we will run into some more potential in berks county, lehigh valley, temperatures in the low to mid 250's. that is why there could be freezing frost, fog around over next couple of hours. just play it safely on the roadways. nice rebound this afternoon. we will go above average. average high is 48. we could make a run at 10 degrees above average this afternoon and that is the trend throughout the upcoming workweek, broken white line is where we should be but we are staying well above that for forecast high. if you like mild temperatures you'll love this forecast for the next 20710 days or so. not much happening on storm scan three, high pressure over us right now keeping our skies mainly clear, there are cloud building out across the midwest, little weak disturbance over iowa right

now, we will see light rain showers breaking out that system will dive down to the south and west over the next 24 to 48 hours and may bring a few clouds, that is bit. a rain chance will be very small. high pressure over us today, locks us in with the sunshine. tonight we may see a few cloud from time to time. there is a storm system to the south and west on monday, and then you could get a sprinkle into areas of southern delaware, extreme southern new jersey maybe later monday night. tuesday we're back to mixture of sun and clouds and that is the the trend for the next several days. not much happening locally today, full sunshine this afternoon, tonight a few cloud, partly cloudy, it is machine to tuesday, same deal with this, the dry forecast, with cool nights and mild afternoon. here is the setup our guess stream pattern through the middle of the month, the jet stream is well to the north so that means mild temperatures, for much of the united states especially for eastern half of the u.s. again this is overall pattern. this allowed cold air to remain lock up north in canada

kim announced her son's birth yesterday on her web site and app. no word on the baby's name just yet but couple has said that they will avoid going with another direction, their two-year old daughter's name is northwest. close call for actor morgan freeman a plane he was in made a hard landing last night. the oscar winner was traveling from mississippi to texas when a plane blew a tire on take off. the plane did have have to make an emergency landing and skidded off runway damaging it even further. only the 78 year-old actor and pilot were on board, no one was injured. simon cowell's mansion was burglarized while he and his family was sleeping inside. the alarm woke up the the security guard who saw the burglar fleeing the the scene. another security guard chased him down and recovered stolen money and jewelry. the guard who was supposed to be on duty at the time has reportedly new been fired. no one was hurt in the

good morning i'm tie an a rocco in for nicole brewer. justin drabick is out on the sky doke this morning, with what looks to be a beautiful day ahead. good morning, justin. diane, nice shot behind me with a good sunrise. we are looking at clear skies, there is fog with temperatures below freezing we are dealing with freezing fog especially area north and west of the

city. it is cold this morning. still in the mid 20's in the suburbs. new 33 officially at the airport right now. thirty in wilmington. twenty-five still in millville. then we will get to the north and western suburbs where it really gets cold with the clear skies, calm wind, 23 in quakertown, mid 20's pottstown, doylestown, palmyra, new jersey up to 30 degrees at this hour. it is a cold morning. at the airport we did make it to freezing, 32 degrees. that is coldest low temperature we have had this fall season. the there is visibility, again basically from the city south and east, pretty good. there is fog further north and west, almost near zero visibility, less than a half mile in reading, so just watch out for areas of fog with temperatures in the 20's. it could be a icy glaze especially on the bridges and overpasses. cold start this morning, even with the sunshine 9:00 o'clock temperatures in the lower 40's but watch what happens early to mid afternoon we have temperatures surgeoning in the mid 50's. potentially upper 50's for our

high for philadelphia 10 degrees above average. mid 50's at the shore and 50 up in the mountain. we will talk about how long these temperatures last when i show you the seven day in a few minutes. diana back to you. thanks, justin. a shooting victim drives himself to the hospital have an argument turns violent. a 34 year-old man was shot three times on the 5300 block of knox street around 3:30 this morning. he is listed in stable condition. and in west oak lane a man was with stab wound and drove himself to the hospital this incident happened around 5:30 on the 6800 block of limekiln pike. philadelphia police say that a 28 year-old man was stabbed once in the chest during a bar fight. there is still no word on his condition. and, new to the massacre, in southern california, president obama will address the nation, tonight. the white house says that the president will deliver a prime time speech about the steps government is now taking to keep americans safe.

this is a huge rebound, we woke up to freezing temperatures at the airport, lower zero's in the suburbs, and then nice rebound, mid to upper 50's this afternoon. receive 26 degrees, jump, reaching our forecast high today. high pressure on top of us keeping our skies mainly clear, that allows cold air to settle in at the surface that high starts to leave us later today, tomorrow and allow this is weak disturbance to move out. it may bring a few clouds monday to tuesday. that is about it. not a lot of moisture witt and we will be back to some sunshine, mixed with some clouds. temperatures cool down a little bit but nothing terribly cold, looking at the jet stream to our north. that is why we will see mild afternoon. little drop in the jet from that disturbance, for the middle of the week, tuesday and wednesday, temperatures a little bit closer to average but running above it and then by end of the week friday into next weekend another push of warmer air we will make a run at 60 degrees by next week even. today, lots of sunshine,
