guys. >> good morning, happy monday, guys, back at it, so is everyone at home tuning in with thus morning. nice to wake up dry roadways, coming off of such a beautiful weekend. so justin, what's in store for us today? >> we'll keep the trends going, temperatures mild, talking 50's pretty much all week long, no big storm systems to talk about either as we head into the heart of december. now, check it out. it is cold in some spots, especially outside the city. not quite as cold as yesterday morning, we will be scraping some frost in. locations, below freezing in reading, 28, at the airport in philadelphia, at 37 degrees, actually hit freezing mark yesterday at the airport in south jersey, millville checking in at 30. suburbs chilling down now to freezing in doylestown, 27 quakertown, 28 pottstown. once again, like yesterday, we do have some areas of fog. and it is locally dense in some spots. specially into south jersey. you go down to millville, visibility down close to zero at times, the a.c. airport

under half mile visibility, down to three in allentown, reading, yesterday the berks county lehigh valley area that had the dense fog, the problem is some of the temperatures where the fog is, it is below freezing, so you can get freezing fog, so the fog stays in liquid form. as soon as it hits contact with cars, bridges, overpasses could be few icy spots, so keep that in mind. storm scan3 quiet, disturbance coming through bringing few clouds around, decent amount of sunshine today. temperatures still cool, at 9:00 in the lower four's, but we keep the sun through the afternoon once again, talking about highs in the mid 50's, running well above average, we will talk about how long the warm lasts coming up in the seven day in a few minute. >> justin, so 50's, but like you said, we could have some icy patches out there early on this morning when it is still pretty cold out there. roads looking pretty good. we have the vine closure because of the overnight construction between the schuylkill and the broad closed the eastbound and westbound side. you can see they are starting get this cleared up. usually does right around 5:00 i would say on average.

right now east and west, still closed. here is a look at the schuylkill eastbound at spring garden, looking good in both directions on the schuylkill anywhere we look at the schuylkill right now looking a-okay, looking a lot like this because of our early hour. the boulevard also same story, moving in the south berks direction toward the schuylkill looking nice there. this is where we do have construction pa turnpike, valley forge, right lane block, i'll let you know that moves out of the way. right now that's still in play. also the girard point bridge inspection, today 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. northbound left lane closed and then tomorrow 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 the southbound lane, make note of that. >> new this morning, man's recovering in the hospital and suspect in custody after shooting in south philadelphia. police say shots rang out just before 11:00 last night near the intersection of 13th and porter. they say a 41 year old plan was shot once in the chest. he's in stable condition. police have not released the identity of the victim or the suspect. >> also, new this morning,

firefighter is being treated for smoke inhalation after battling a house fire in the city's point breeze neighborhood. it broke out around 1:00 in the 2300 block of moore street. firefighters quickly place that fire under control. authorities tell us no one was home at the time. the cause of the fire is under investigation. >> president obama tries to calm americans fears of terrorism in a rare oval office address, the president first referenced the san bernardino massacre saying there was no evidence the killings were directed by terror group or part of a broader conspiracy at home. the president promised quote hunt down terrorist plotters in any country and carry out air strikes against isis. the he promised to continue training and giving equipment to iraqi and syrian forces fighting isis on the ground. but stressed he will not get involved in a grounds war. president obama also addressed gun control, calling for congress to take steps to keep guns out of the wrong hands. he also called on the american

people for tolerance every muslims in the united states. >> what could possibly be the argument allowing a suspect to buy a semiotic weapons? this is matter of national security, also we also need to make it harled err for people to buy powerful assault weapons like the ones use in the san bernardino, our responsibility to reject proposals that muslim americans should somehow be treated differently. because when we travel down that road, we lose. that kind of devisive necessary, that betrayal of our values, plays into the hands of groups like isil. >> the president closed by saying that if americans stay true to their values he has no doubt we will prevail. >> i think the president not to make things better tonight, i fear he may have made things worse. >> republican presidential candidate marco rubio blast

the president's oval office speech from the campaign trail. adds that, quote, we have a president who is completely overwelmed by the terrorist threat. >> well the community mourns the victims, investigators are learning more about the married couple behind the san bernardino massacre. they are looking into whether tashfeen malik radicalized her american husband farook. farook told italian media his son supported ideology, fixated on israel. >> we have a look now at the alleged attack nerve saturday night's knife attack. >> this happened in london before he was taken down by police officers stun guns. police say one person was seriously injured after the suspect threatened people. several eyewitnesses say he shouted this is for syria. police are calling it a terrorist incident. 4:36 right now. many fans are saying it was a season saving win. call it what you will. it just may be the greatest game for the eagles as they beat the superbowl champion new england patriots sunday

three, two, one, lift off. >> success, finally, after three delays, due to poor weather, the at last five rockets blasted into space from cape canaveral, florida rockets caring holiday gift more than 7,000 pounds of cargo. it is expected to reach the international space station on wednesday. federal aviation investigators are looking into what caused a plane caring morgan freeman to make an emergency landing over the weekend. airport officials in mississippi say there was minimal damage to the plane. authorities say the plane blew a tire on take off, and will try and land. the landing gear collapsed causing the plane to skid off the runway, fortunately, no one was injured. >> this giant menorrah was

good monday morning, wacking up to another cold start, areas of fog, freezing, from a lot of frost to scrape on your car. we'll rebounds nicely this afternoon, talking mid 50's, pretty impressive for the early part of december. check out the numbers, outside of the city we drop below freezing allentown, reading, northwest suburbs, are in the mid and upper 20s at this hour, even south jersey where we have some locally dense fog, still running below freezing around millville, at 33, in wilmington, good news, the winds are pretty much calm. maybe you get breeze out of the southwest at around 5 miles per hour, now harsh windchills this morning, going out for the morning work out, the jog, the bike ride, again, overall just cool conditions, no wind. there you go, little disturbance in the upper atmosphere coming through southern ohio west virginia bringing some showers. those stay to the south and west, may get few clouds around overall today.

otherwise, pretty much sunny day once we can get rid. patchy morning fog, 54 degrees for the high temperature, 48 is our average for this time of year. tonight it get chilly, again, few clouds around, 36 for the low for center city, some 20's out of the coldest suburbs, then tomorrow, slightly cooler but still a lot of sunshine, 50 degrees, still couple of degrees above average, bye-bye the end of the week warming it right back up near 06 friday, well to the lower 60s saturday and sunday, in the sunshine, so, pretty touch to beat there. meisha, little bit of freezing fog possibly on some of the road surfaces this morning. >> yes, justin, good thing you are point that out. good news, i can tell you right now good news to know that i should know. because things are looking good on the roadways, but whenever we might have some freezing overnight, you certainly want to be aware of that, especially right now during the 4:00 hour, and maybe even into that early 5:00 hour. here's a look at 95 south at girard, looking good here, plenty of headlight now just starting to get on the roadways specially compared to what we saw 20, 30 minutes ago. blue route, southbound, moving

in the southbound direction at mid-county rather. southbound direction, looking good. northbound, no problems. this is southbound lanes that i am kind of keeping my eye on this morning, looking good. the vine still closed both eastbound and westbound. that's the overnight construction that we have between the schuylkill and the broad street. you can see right now i was just wait to go he see the westbound lanes open, not yet open. westbound, eastbound vine, still closed new jersey construction route 130 closed both directions, south of route 620, until march 1st. so you will want to use your alternate of 295 in and around the area. also one more point of construction, route 202, both directions, between route 30, and route 401, reduced to one lane, eight p.m. to 5:00 a.m. tonight, through thursday.
