"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us from our cbs-3 sat center with more on that. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. khiry reid is wanted for murder in philadelphia and he was no easy catch for u.s. marshals in florida. the his take down involved a three vehicle wreck and a surprising find, a baby inside reid's getaway suv. this morning reid is now due in court, in two states. >> people you think are your neighbors and they find out they have a jagged past. >> reporter: found in florida, khiry reid a 28 year-old murder suspect wanted for the shooting and killing of the 22-year old man, in philadelphia, in november. >> we have information from

the u.s. marshals office in philadelphia that a fugitive from homicide fugitive from philadelphia was in jacksonville area. >> reporter: about 5:00 o'clock, tuesday evening, u.s. marshals tracked reid to the home where they saw him get in the ford expedition. marshals made their move but suv driver, with reid and a baby u inside tried to flee ramming in the u.s. marshals vehicle and county sheriff office cruiser. the suv was closed ape driver and reid was arrested at gunpoint. >> we found he might be in our orange park area. >> reporter: tips led u.s. marshals to read outside of jacksonville, florida, more than 850 miles away from the mantua section of philadelphia where he is wanted for murder of the 22-year old man later identified as maurice mcdonald. back on the morning of november 10th mcdonald was shot several is times inside the j and r perez convenient store on the 700 block of north 38th street. reid was later identified as a

a white dover police officer is found not guilty of assault charges after kicking a black man in the face. we have video here of that confrontation between corporal thomas webster and dickerson, during an arrest in 2013. webster kicked dickerson in the head, breaking his jaw and knocking him unconscious. webster testified he was trying to kick the suspect's upper body and then feared for his life because officers thought dickerson was arm. rowan university officials are dealing with the case of hate speech at a college dorm, several swastika as were carved in the door at chestnut hall. facility housed freshman and sophomores on the glassboro campus. markings were removed from the door but some say they are concerned. >> i definitely think it is a hate crime ape whoever does it is juvenile. >> it makes me feel unconfidentable. what i thought was safe, isn't

area and they decided not to go through with the attack. law enforcement it says husband and wife got two of the weapons that they used last week, several years ago from a former next door neighbor who is now, cooperating with the the authorities. twenty-four year-old man at the this point has in the been arrested. andrew spencer for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". 6:35 right now. a a couple weeks ago we reported on a series of violent incidents at george washington high school in the north east. now "eyewitness news" has learned that the principal has been removed from that school. the school district decided to make that move after three students attacked a teacher inside the school located in somerton. principal gene jones has been at washington for just two and a half years. officials say the school needs a dramatic change. two district administrators will lead the school until a permanent replacement is found. philadelphia police need your help to catch these two grinches caught on camera stealing holiday cheer around the city. in fairmount police say a

thief stole a wreath from the home in the 2400 block of aspen street on sunday. this is what he looks like. police said another thief entered an unlocked vehicle two days earlier and stole two watches worth $4,000 in queen village. if you recognize that suspect you are asked to call the the police. concern this morning over the the latest holiday craze, federal authorities say that christmas laser lights, could cause trouble in the skies.
