tiehl. it is a foiling start to your day, could be the cause after deadly crash on i95 this morning, one person dead from the multi vehicle crash in tinicum township delaware county. two cars collided just after 3:00 this morning, on i-95, sending one car onto its roof. two southbound rains are shutdown near the wanamaker exit. so plan to give yourself extra time, taking 99 at or not just because the fog is out, there sticking around for the morning, too, we check in with katie. see katie but not the light behind her. america a checking on the roads behind her. >> good morning, as you pointed out, very serious crash on 95, all of the updates on that, but overall visibility most certainly playing an impact on your commute this morning, katie. and i know that you said it might linger all morning long, through the morning commute? >> absolutely, yes. we actually just have the set up here. i'm on the skydeck, typically if the background you would see beautiful center city sky scape. you can't see it at all. i mean, i would say from where i stands i might be able to make out about say quarter mile off in the distance here,

so it is rough stuff. and it is very low to the grounds that fog. so, you're going to be coming into this, but sort of through patches. there are some spots better than others, but it is a region-wide problem. it is definitely going to play a role in your among drive. storm scan quiet here locally, at this point, definitely a lot of clouds out, there many of them are very low to the ground as we mention. but eventually we showed you storm scan at the top of the show. that is going to play a role. the wet weather playing a role in our second commute of the day, the p.m. drive. so for now all about the fog. we look at the future visibility,'s would move forward in the forecast here giles, the next couple of hours are not ideal. granted this visibility will be changing, and eventually it does get scoured out. dense fog advisory region wide, until 10:00 a.m. at which point you can see the visibilities should start to get much much better. although, this particular model trying to pick up that we might keep that fog near the shore points. see how we do. all very likely going to be winds and solar angle dependent. temperatures stay awfully mild, too. currently at 53 degrees at

this airport, this is very fall or even spring like forecast for us once more. little wacky out there, right? late day rain starts to pick up for us as we see the next cold front move n still warm at 67 degrees. and i definitely use the word wacky to describe the rest of the day. watching that rain pick up, later on today, fog is the initial concern. some mid week sunshine, but it finally turns seasonable, in the seven day forecast, that's something we haven't been able to say for awhile. we'll explain as the show goes on. but meisha, a you have got a lot to cover. i send it over to you. >> unfortunately that wacky weather can be very dangerous weather you're not careful do. have fog advisory in effect, it is very hard to see out there visibility issues, certainly, playing a part. so what you are seeing is a live short delaware valley tinicum township just past the airport. ninety-five south before route 420, two right lanes are blocked, if you missed it, erika pointed out, this is fatal crash, one car as you can see, two cars hit each other. one flipped onto its roof and that is the product of what

you are seeing right now. so of course this morning our thoughts are going out to everyone involved. give yourself a couple of extra minutes, certainly, if you have to drive through this area, because the two right lanes are blocked. but also give yourself couple of extra minute anywhere this morning because fog is playing in effect. another accident in jersey. here is a lock at the vine, westbound lanes open eastbound is still blocked. here is a look at the schuylkill, moving spring garden, see kind of the haze, the headlights giving you kind of this idea that you have more visibility than do you. i can tell you right now it is very hard moving out there. accident in new jersey, route 55, this is moving in the southbound direction, at route 40, police and fire are on the scene at this accident, as well. and i can let you know that these accidents probably in the majority whatever we will see this morning is because every visibility issues, so again give yourself some time in front of the car in front of you, as well, erika, back to you. >> meisha, a thank you. new this morning, bullet casings on west philadelphia street after someone shoots two, 17 year old, one of them is dead, the other critically

wounded. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us now at police headquarters with the details for us, jan, good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning, the search is on for killer or killers. philadelphia police certainly have their hands full, they are dealing with at least 17 spent shell casings, one teenage here was dead, another who is injured, and a trail of blood. that weeds its way through a west philadelphia neighborhood. >> philadelphia police, now trying to track down the shooter or shooters responsible for killing one teen and leaving another injured in west philadelphia. the crime scene unit and homicide detectives on the 500 block of north crate on street overnight collecting the balistic evidence. >> we know that at least 17 shots were fired from two, separate caliber semiautomatic handguns. >> police say the gun fight started shortly after 10:30 sunday night, when they arrived, police found a 17 year old shot multiple times in the head and body. he was taken to presbyterian hospital, and pronounced dead, second shooting victim also

17. >> that 17 year old victim was shot one time in his thigh. necessary critical condition at presbyterian hospital. >> he lost a lot of blood. police say it was that blood that helped investigators find him. they say after being shot, the teen ran about two blocks and in search of help. >> this victim ran eason we losing, then south on the 500 block of paxson street. could you see he tried to get in several houses. there were several doors with blood on them. he ended up running inside a house where the people who were in the house are total strange tears him. the residents of the property of course are being interviewed by homicide detectives. >> back at the shooting scene police now searching for surveillance video that captured the nearby gunfire, fortunately though, no one in the neighborhood was injured. so a frightening night for this west philadelphia neighborhood. at this time police have not determined a motive for the shooting just yet. they do believe that this 17 year old who was shot and killed was the intended target since those 17 spent shell

casings were found near his body. at this point, no description of the shooter or the shooters, reporting live outside police headquarters, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> jan, thank you for. that hundreds turn taught remember teenager found shot and killed over the weekend. an emotional candlelight vigil held yesterday for 15 year old xavier stern. he was found friday night with a gunshot wound to his head in north philadelphia. about 200 people attended that vigil on west philadelphia football field, where the teen was known as mega tron. >> and i was destroyed when i heard t because i just talked to him. he was going in the right direction. >> police say stern was on probation for assault, they have no suspect or motive in the shooting. >> happening today, a murder trial begins for homeowner accused in the shooting death after man he thought was trying to break into his pick-up truck. it happened last august, on the 4500 block of torresdale avenue. fifty-six year old boar

aimed he shot 30 year old richard hull in self-defense. boar turned over his gun and surveillance video to police and charge add week later. 5:07. it is hard to believe but the eagles playoff hopes are still alive after beating the buffalo bills yesterday. and that win spoiled lesean mccoy's homecoming to philadelphia. sorry. mccoy did not shake chip kelly's hand but did he hug eagles owner jeff lurie before the game. bills had a chance to pull off the win late in the game, but reynolds pick off pass with less than two minutes left to steel the 23 to 20 eagles victory after the game kelly denied a report that he tried to calm mccoy last week. >> just a lot of it to me is tabloid journalism, trying to stress things up. it doesn't affect us. we were playing the buffalo bills, and well coached team by rx. ryan. when people want to make up false store business me calling someone during the week anthem hanging up on me i just think people trying to get twitter hit or things like, that make themselves significant. >> mccoy not happy after the

game. look at him here. ran off the field, did not throw anyone's hands, caught throwing his helmet, leaving without talking to reporters. >> love him or hate him, motorcycle dow doing great things for fans in philadelphia. watch this right here. he had a special moment yesterday before the game. mccoy made a fan's wish come true and he met her and her family. he took pictures and signed autographs during the meeting organized by that "make a wish foundation". mccoy called the girl his good luck charm for the day. >> well, we are only 11 days away from christmas, and many children still sharing their list with santa claus. for some kids, seeing old saint nick isn't always easy since they're in the hospital. "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer shows you how shriners hospital used technology to bring santa to the kids. >> merry christmas. >> for pain end at shriners apartment for children, an opportunity they might have otherwise missed.

closing arguments are expected in the first trial of six baltimore police officers charged in the death of freddie gray. he suffered a neck injury in a police wagon on his way to a police station. prosecutors say officer william porter failed to put a seatbelt on gray, and ignored his cries for medical help. porter told the injury that i gray did not exhibit any signs of distress. >> the prosecution has presented evidence that went far beyond what the public expected. and that is what makes their case very strong. >> i just don't see where the stage has convinced anyone beyond a reasonable doubt that simply not belting him in, when it wasn't his responsibility, you know, reflected a callous disregard for the life of freddie gray. >> if convicted officer porter faces to up 25 years in prison. this morning, the los angeles county sheriff's department is releasing

surveillance video and pictures after the shooting death after man by two deputies. as don champion reports, the deputies opened fire on a man caring a gun after they say he refused to drop his weapon. >> the los angeles county sheriff's department says this surveillance video shows why deputies opened fire on 28 year old nicholas robertson. it shows robertson holding what investigators say is a gun. moment before the encounter people called 911 saying robertson was acting irradically and firing rounds. >> at least seven times. >> we showed that he had a weapon in his hand throughout the whole encounter. there is going to be criticism any time a deputy involved shooting. that's why we've come out today to try to be as transparent that is can. >> the shooting happened saturday afternoon in lynnewood, california. investigators say deputies open fire after robert son refused to drop his gun. in all, two deputies fired a total of 33 bullet. >> after the first shot, he

hit the ground, he was immobilized. nothing you could really do to him. you know, just to stand there, keep shooting, and reload, and keep shooting it, was just uncalled for. >> the sheriff's department says robertson posed a risk to several people who were nearby. >> there were several citizens, civilians in that arena, that public safety, you know, was critical here, suspect who is armed and liely populated area. >> robertson was father of three, the deputies involved in the shooting have been reassigned, as part of the investigation. don champion, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". 5:16 right now. another warm start to our week with the foggy katie, slowing people down out there. >> absolutely the story for us at least initially. all part of much larger system. we'll have other issues here later today from the very same storm in short the whole day kind of wacky out there. you will have a lot of changing weather going on, that's going to have impact. so, dense fog advisory that's

the initial problem with visibilities not even just patchy, it is widespread, visibility, that's aunt quarter mile. i can tell you my own personal commute in this morning, the whole stretch of it was foggy. once i got on to the schuylkill, it was as bad but poor visibility. regardless of where your travels take you, you will get slowed down around our region as a local with the advisory in effect. let's go ahead, talk about what the rest of this day has up its sleeve though. this storm system actually responsible for the fog dropping in on us at all. we have the warm sector of storm sitting in the midst of right now. trailing cold front, large system obviously, rain producer for us, the bulk of cold will get swept to the northeast, then see another storm system mover in. later in the week. and i have to take you all the way up near the arctic circle near alaska, where we have actually seen the record tide for strongest area of low pressure, to strike alaska. this is very well defined storm and a chunk driving south would time bringing us

some cooler air. finally. fifty-five wildwood, already flirting with six off in dover, with the fog everywhere. off to the south, definitely milder but did i want to show you what's going on further to the north and west, temperatures definitely starting to take a hit in the wake of the front coming our way, down in the teens currently, in both bismarck and rapid city. see bit of drop on the thermometer readings, still above average behind this front come tomorrow. watch for rain to arrive later today to affect the second drive of the day the p.m. rush, and then another front comes along thursday. that is what is really going to send us more so into seasonable territory. so by the time we hit the weekends low 40's, haven't seen those in a long time. but it is going to be much cooler by comparison weekend. specially by comparison to with a we just saw. meisha, over to you. >> all right, katie. good morning, everyone, happy monday to you. very serious out on the roadways right now, i can let you know the advice isn't certainly going to cause some problems. now, right now, what you are

looking at is a live shot after fatal accident in tinicum township delaware county just past the airport area, 95 southbound before route 420, you can see, crews here trying to get this out of the way as our morning commute certainly will heat up on a monday morning, guess very busy in the 5:00 hour, two cars collided flipping one onto it roof. very serious accident here, not cleaned out every your way right now, still down two right lanes because of the accident. i'll say this all morning long, our thoughts going out to everyone involved. moving on 95 tail light moving in the southbound direction. at the betsy ross bridge. almost impossible to see. you can see some of the lights here. this is moving again in this southbound direction. you can see some of those tail light. you can see some of the headlight. but again, very difficult to see. so you want to give yourself some extra time between you and the car in front of you for sure. because if they tap on their brake lights, i can tell you, it will be very difficult to see them.
