he ever avenue you in north pine street reached two a alarms before it was placed under control. it is chopper video right there fire fighter did suffer minor injuries from this fire. this caught the attention of some investigators because the same church had a basement fire just two weeks ago. police are investigating the the suspicious death of the infant at a day care center this happened in the 3500 block have of germantown avenue in north philadelphia. natasha brown has the latest on the investigation. >> they are not telling us nothing. staff is in the telling us now. they don't know nothing what is going on. >> reporter: concerned parents were met with more questions than answers as they arrived at sisters day care. frenzied parents rush to the child care center in the 3500 block of germantown avenue after hearing that a zero month-old baby girl was found unresponsive. tasha harris has two children here. >> they have been here since birth. i had good relationship with them. my sonnies now four and my

daughter is two. i'm actually shock. >> reporter: police say 109 month-old girl arrived at the center around noon to find staff performing cpr on the baby. he immediately drove the the child to nearby temple hospital where she was pronounced dead 45 minutes later. parents hugging their children even more tight thely on the heels of such a loss. >> they took spectacular care of my child so i don't know what happened. i'm not afraid to leave my son in their care at all. >> reporter: according to state records sisters child care center has had more than 40 violations in the past two years. in hunting park, natasha a brown, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a pickup truck smashes into a berks county home and ruptures a gas line in the process. this happened on north reading avenue in colebrookdale township around 6:00. police say the driver was not, seriously hurt but the the truck crashed in the living room of the home injuring someone inside. crews shut gas services off to the home before pulling the the vehicle out. the cause of the crash is under investigation.

well, happening today a philadelphia jury is set to resume deliberation this is morning in the trial of catherine knott, the the 25 year-old woman from bucks county is accused of taking part in an attack on the gay couple in center city last year. knott testified that she never punched or verballally abused the men. two of the co-defendants kevin harrigan and philip williams pleaded guilty and were sentenced to probation. protesters hit the streets in baltimore avenues of a mistrial in the death of freddie gray. the judge is expected to meet with attorneys from both sides today to determine a possible retrial. jurors deliberated for nearly 17 hours over three days before they told that judge they could not determine whether officer william porter was responsible for gray's death. porter was one of six officers charged. gray died in police custody last april. >> no justice. >> no peace. >> the prosecution did not do their job good enough.

morning. everyone is groggy toward the even of the week, you want that to be nice, smooth, and it will be as we take a live look at center city, dry conditions, on sky cam three, but that image will change as we head into midday with the rain coming down but temperatures right now, down to about 48 degrees in philadelphia. you're at 50 degrees in the lehigh valley, shore points still up in the the lower 50's 567891 degrees in atlantic city. zooming in taking a closer look temperatures consistent to mid to upper 40's. 46 degrees in doylestown. chillier in mount holly down to 42 degrees right now but storm can three is showing us cloud in place. few showers working in the del marva peninsula and much more precipitation up wind with us with this wide swath of precipitation and heavier pockets of rain. a all of that will continue to move its way north east and move in the delaware valley as we head through the day-to-day. so mid to late morning that rain will start to move in. heavier at times especially through midday and early

afternoon hours, high temperature though, not too bad, 59 degrees, well above average for us. the tonight, rain ending early but it could stick with us for early part of the evening commute but overnight tonight, mostly cloudy, cool breeze, 46 l see a big cool down on the back side of this rain but future weather is showing us the trend for today and it is soggy. rain moving in scattered in nature by 9:00 o'clock hour, widespread with the heavier pockets of rain into midday. 1:00 o'clock hour rain coming in heavy at times for philadelphia and shore point and as we head into the the evening, still dealing with some rain south and east of philadelphia. by second half of the evening hours most of that rain has moved out but rain heavier at times is in the forecast. philadelphia, down the the shore, poconos, we will be dealing with that rain as well so meisha people should prepare for a soggy day to day, and potentially a soggy commute. >> yes, it sure sound like it. normally i don't wish for rain but it will help these guys right now. thinks where we have a car

fire pulled off to the shoulder. they are containing the fire. a all of the flames in that vehicle have been put out. these travelers again moving in the northbound direction on i-95 towards the airport area these officers here and the the fire trucks there, they have just put that fire out, all they they are still kind of this thick overlying smoke. now it will not cause too many visability issues and still very dark but you will want to be aware of that progressing through this area not completely pulled out of way. not only sit pulled off the shoulder but now we have fire crews and police crews block ago this far right lane. you will have some gaper delays in and around this area so just make note of that for those in this area semi truck, we will get this out of the way for you. semi truck is pulled off at mid county. he is hanging out there not causing too many slow downs but for those in and around this area just know he is there, not causing too many slow downs but it could. couple issues on the roadway, and i will have another update

in 15 minutes. nicole, over to you. an arrest warrant is issued for texas teen who used affluencea defense in the fatal car crash. two years ago ethan couch was convicted of the killing four people in the dui crash. he was given ten years probation after his lawyer argued that the 16 year-old suffered from affluencea and didn't understand the the consequences given because he was growing up rich. now recently video surfaced on social media that could prove a probation violation and now investigators believe he is on the run. >> it is not clear on its face that the video in and of itself is a violation of the probation. >> skipping a mandatory probation appointment is also a violation of couch's probation, now at the time of the deadly crash, couch's blood alcohol level was three times legal limit for an adult and there were traces of have valium in his system. check out this daring rescue, a deputy, jumps in the

eagles will still try to keep their playoff hopes alive on sunday when they host arizona a cardinals. one player you don't hear too much about is punter donnie jones, even though he is having a pretty good season so far. "eyewitness sports" reporter pat gallon hit the practice field with jones to learn how to punt like a pro. one of the unsung heroes of this years eagles team has been punter donnie jones. the the 12 year vet has been impressive pinning the opposition deep in their own end time and again.
