washington. i'm jessica dean. if you cannot tell even we're feeling star wars fever, the last film in the franchise came out in 2005 a and that was a prequel. fans have been waiting since 1983, to see what happened to all of their favorite characters. >> lets look live from the franklin institute, star wars super fans awaiting the next tail from a galaxy far, far away. but in one school not far away a star wars mystery had our todd quinones, looking for answers in allentown. >> reporter: hard to find anyone who doesn't know what the millennium falcon looks like especially in this school in allentown. from the ground it may look normal but up above a new perception a awakens as school's shape looks oddly familiar. >> if you look at it, it is uncanny. >> reporter: nicole is parkland a's director of community relations. the at what point was this connection even made. >> you you know, i'm not entirely sure. i have been here ten years.

northeast philadelphia airport, at 1.046789 trenton 1.05. that is daily record for rainfall. .91 in allentown. the .29 at philadelphia international a airport. .84 fell in atlantic city. around an inch for the area today. new rain is moving out, and pushing east, heading off the coast and through the rest of the evening commute. things are improving except for that dense fog. visibility down below a mile in some spots right now and overhead fog will be around early and gradually clearing out. shower even down the shore tomorrow morning, and, like i said earlier, put umbrellas away and pull out winter coat. you haven't needed it but you may tomorrow into the weekend. we will tell you how chilly, it will get coming up. in new jersey, state trooper has been killed in the line of duty in quinton township salem county. the investigators say trooper eli mccarthey's vehicle went off quinton allaway road and crashed in the utility pole near route 49 this morning. he was responding to a

domestic disturbance. the trooper mccarson was married and graduated from the academy in february. fire destroys a wilmington church but not resolve of the community. reporting here from wilmington delaware i'm greg argos cbs-3 "eyewitness news". investigators searching for a cause of a early morning house fire that killed a father in son in lower macungie townty. they were identified as douglass jackson junior and douglass jackson the their. eyewitness tim singles shared these pictures from the 7100 block of myrtle drive. we're told a mother escape. the the flames and her doubt are jumped from a second story window and then climb down a tree. radnor township police officer is recovering from leg injuries after he was hit by a vehicle, while on his motorcycle. eyewitness sent us this picture from the scene along the 300 block of lancaster avenue. police say the driver of the oak vehicle remain at the scene no word if that person will face charges. autopsy results are pending on a ten month-old found dead at a philadelphia day care center yesterday. the babe girl was unresponsive when her unk arrived at sisters child care center on the 3500 block of germantown avenue. staff performed cpr on the

baby and the uncle rushed her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. according to state record the facility has had more than 40 violations, in the past two years. still no verdict in the trial of the catherine knott, accused of attacking a gay couple in center sit the eye. the the judge dismissed the jury for the day, this is the second day of deliberations, and knott is accused of taking part in last years attack but she testified during her trial that she never punched or verbally abused the men. two of knott's co-defendants pleaded guilty and were sentenced to probation. search is on for three suspects wanted in an armed robbery at a 711 store in gloucester township. take a a look at this surveillance from the church street store, you will see one of the suspects crawls by counter a and goes behind it to steel cash. while another suspect threatens the the clerk with a knife. if you recognize these men call the police. schools from across the region participate in an essay contest answering important questions relating to the fourth amendment.

"eyewitness news" at national constitution center where the fourth and fifth grade finalist presented their essays, about the the right to privacy, and more than 250 schools participated in the challenge, argos and former pennsylvania governor ed rendell was one of the lead judges. >> whether it is fourth grade, fifth grade, whatever if you challenge them, they will respond. if you give them tough, difficult things to think about, they will think about them, and think about them seriously. the the whole point of what the center is trying to do is to make good, active citizens. >> fifth grade class from the chestnut elementary school in haverford won the contest with a $1,000 prize. three other won $500, and graduate todd all who participate. thomas jefferson university and philadelphia university are merging. experts say it could be an important alternative, to current treatments, that are being used to help people, beat drug addictions. >> we're good, we are good. >> reporter: drew shaw talking about glory days playing football until he was injured and prescribed vicodin. >> when i graduated i was fully dependent on opiates and cheaper to buy heroin. i grew up in gladwynn. i was sleeping on the streets, at cambria getting heroin. >> reporter: after years struggling with addiction, drew is off drugs with the help of therapy and medications, that he has to take three times a day. >> a lot of people look at it as a moral deficiency and i see it as a disease. >> reporter: tiny implant like this could make addiction treatment easier instead of taking dilly medicine this lasts for six months. >> it can help improve, the medication. >> reporter: doctor michael frost and addiction specialist, helped test the implant for clinical trial which showed they work as well if not better than daily

medications. >> before these little rod, and they will insert under the skin in the inner aspect of the arm. >> this helps stabilize that brain chemistry and help take away the cravings. >> reporter: drew, a new dad, wasn't in the trial but he likes idea of the implant and not having to worry about taking medications, daily, that have become a life safer. >> it makes you feel normal when you are fully dependent, you know, it just makes you feel normal. >> reporter: f.d.a. initially did not approve the implant because there wasn't enough information about the number needed and how they should be removed and then reimplanted. with new information now, being submitted the agency is expect to decide again on the implant, in february. a lot of people in addictions say this could be a big break through. >> yes, you don't have to take anything daily, it is just there. >> thanks, stephanie, wonderful. the democratic national convention committee kicked off a community service campaign right here in philadelphia. >> first in the series of events took place at

below it will feel cold in comparison to what we have been enjoying so far this month. lets look outside, taking you down the shore speaking of fog this is an area that is still seeing a little bit of rain but fog is definitely in play in ocean city. ferris wheel lit up in the background but looking very foggy, glummy, taking a peak at that boardwalk. time lapse video from today at palmyra cove nature center shows a very glummy, very wet day, bans of heavy rain especially through midday and early afternoon hours. it did start to taper off right before sunset and new we will still see mist and drizzle in the air but for the most part feeling a whole lot better as rain moves off the coast but in the wake fog is developing, as the showers move out and we have to get actual front off shore before we start to see that fog mixes out and that should happen in the overnight hours. the police be safe here tonight, into evening tomorrow morning but it does look better for tomorrow then both commute looks today. down the the shore, again toms river toward atlantic city
