scan3 right now which is showing things are pretty clear for us. though snow showers moving across western pennsylvania. they're starting to fizzle out as they move into the higher terraithere. can't rule out stray snow shower getting into our far northern suburbs overnight. in the meantime temps dropping. just barely hanging on to 40 at the philadelphia airport. it's 36 in reading. it's 39 in millville but take a look at how it's going to feel at 7:00 o'clock tomorrow morning when you wake up. it feels like 23 degrees in philadelphia. feels like 18 in allentown. it feels like 12 in mount poco pocono. forty three fred is it a tort your saturday morning and not much better in the afternoon. the good news if you're not fan of the cd not going to last that long. another warmup a big swing in our seven day forecast. i'll have that for you when i join you inside. back to you. >> kate, see you shor shortly tk you. police are responding to a bomb threat in boothwyn delaware county. chopper three is live over a shopping complex on conchester highway bomb sniffing dogs are checking out the wal*mart store after a suspicious package was

found in the parking lot. emergency crews have determined that package was not a threat. now emergency crews also searched a nearby rate aid and a goodwill. nothing was found. it's not clear if the threats are related. we of course will continue to follow this and you can get the very latest at cbsphilly.com. on the eve of the next democratic presidential debate senator bernie sanders campaign is suing the democratic national committee. it wants the committee tore itch state its access to a voter database. bernie sanders campaign filed the lawsuit in federal court late friday afternoon hours after the democratic national committee suspended access to its shared voter database. >> we need our data which has been stolen by the dnc. >> reporter: dnc blocked the sanders camp access after a 45 minute computer glitch on wednesday allowed workers to view information gathered by the clinton campaign. sanders fired data director jo josh, but he insists he wasn't

trying to snoop. >> like always to create a record of what was wrong so i can accurately access both the campaign and d inform c what my understanding of what was wrong. >> reporter: dnc says at least for sanders users not only look at voter files from 10 states but saved and exported some clinton data. >> people make mistake leaving their front door unlock also it doesn't mean it's okay to go in to their house and take their stuff. >> sanders learn of the breach 24 hours after it happened not from his own staffers but -- >> he found out from me. so i -- >> what was his reaction. >> he was stun. >> sanders camp can't even access its own files on the dnc database. it says that will cripple its campaign and cost it more than $600,000 a day in lost donatio donations. the sanders campaign also says the database experienced a similar breach back in october and is calling for an independent investigation of the d inform c and the vendor that built and maintains the list.

so far neither the clinton nor o'malley campaigns have commented on the data breach. congress ends its year on a note of bipartisan eighty one team the house and senate approved a massive 2016 tax and spending package today center it to the president who promptly signed it. the move averts a possible government shut down and the president talked about that deal earlier. >> i'm not wild about everything in it, i'm sure that's true for everybody, but it is a budget that as i insisted invests in our military and our middle class without ideological provisions that would have weakened wall street reform or rules on big polluters. >> in the spending package republicans want increase in military spending as well as an end to the ban on exporting us oil. we are now getting our first look at the harrisburg man accused of of aiding isis. 19-year-old jahlil aziz is charged with spreading propaganda for the terrorist organization online.

fbi agents raided the suspect's home on in dauphin county yesterday. investigators found loaded high capacity assault arrival magazines and other evidence in a closet. aziz will appear in court for a preliminary hearing on wednesd wednesday. well philadelphia jury finds the daughter of a bucks county police chief guilty of assault in an attack on gay couple in center city. tonight we are hearing from juror who's delivered the mixed verdict. and as our natasha brown reports, catherine knot now faces jail time. >> reporter: catherine knot had no comment as she scurried by a gaggle of reporters outside of the courthouse in center city. jurors however were quick to comment on the evidence that led them to a guilty verdict in knot's case. >> in her mind she just had no idea why she was there because she saw nothing wrong with what she did. >> reporter: after three days of deliberations jurors found catherine knot guilty of recklessly endangering a gay couple and conspiracy tied to the simple assault of one of the men. the verdict stems from violent

encounter on a center city street back in september of 2014. prosecutors argued that knot and two male friends used homophobic slurs to spark the violence against the two victims. >> it's wrong. there was just nothing right about it from beginning to end. >> reporter: jurors seemed to grapple with the charges finding the 25-year-old knot not guilty of the felony aggravated assault charges. surveillance video played a huge factor in this case as well as knot's twitter history. some tweets were laced with profanity but prosecutors thought this one in particular posted long before the crime helped to prove that knot didn't agree with homosexuality. >> you see the tweets on the screen. and then you listen to her trying to explain away that, you know, hash tag gay, hash tag doesn't mean gay even though the two guys are kissing even though she rode ew she didn't mean that. it doesn't take any sense. >> there isn't a fiber of her being that is homophobic. >> her attorney used her gay cousin as a witness. counting any claims that his

client was homophobic. in the end, juror has heard and scene enough to convict on the lesser charges. catherine knot could still face jail time on the reckless endangerment and conspiracy charges. she is sentenced to be -- set to be sentenced in february. >> federal prosecutors have charged former philadelphia sheriff john green with fraud and conspiracy. the 34 page indictment alleges green septembered bribes and illegal campaign contributions while in office from james davis a preferred vendor who was also facing charges. greenery signed from the sheriffs office in 2011 after 22 years on the job. he face faces up to 85 years bed bars if convicted on all charg charges. two employees at the special needs bancroft school in had field are facing charges. natasha hines of burlington city and another of clementon. they were caught assaulting a

14-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man. those incidents happened december 8th. both women are behind bars tonight. >> bancroft school issued a statement reading in part "we are upset and angered by the alleged acts of the employees in question and will continue to cooperate fully with the investigation". state officials shut down a north philadelphia daycare where a 10 month old girl died on wednesday. a department of human services report says a staff member at the sisters child care center tried to perform cpr on that little girl but never called 911. the same report also said conditions at the center presented a serious danger. the cause of the child's death is now under investigation. next week will mark one year since a south philadelphia woman was hit and killed while visiting a friend. >> despite a big reward and surveillance video there is still a suspect out there tonight. and the victim's mother tells "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt she will not stop until her daughter's killer is found. >> people say that as time goes

on it gets easier. that's not true. >> reporter: anna posie says she'll never be able to get over her daughter's death. >> she's not coming home any more and then the anger gets stronger. the grief gets harder. >> reporter: theresa was on her way to visit a friend on state road the night of december 23rd when the person driving this truck hit and killed her. despite constant pleas from the posie family, the case has gone cold. >> i know in my heart that there's someone out there who seen something and they definitely know something. >> reporter: theresa grew up here in south philadelphia on kimball street. and thanks to a wish and the help from italian woman, kimball street will also be known aster risa's way. >> there are people that care about her, her family and her daughter and her daughter is an angel. >> she moved from philadelphia, torque philadelphia from italy earlier this year. she runs an organization call the wish wall and met the pos family during the pope's visit

she organize a street renaming and billboard in honor of theresa. >> everybody will remember her. remember the beautiful person she was. that was worth it. >> there's a $15,000 reward from police, family and friends leading to the arrest and conviction of theresa's killer. anna posie promises justice will be served. >> i feel like this person is laughing in my face. i feel like they're saying, ha, ha you didn't catch me yet. but i will. >> reporter: in south philadelphia, david spunt, cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> mother theresa on a path to sainthood nearly two decades after her death. the move comes after pope francis approved a miracle attributed her the second required for sainthood. this happened in 2008 after her death when a brazilian man with brain tumors was suddenly tumor free. her first miracle was a tributed to a woman who said her assume tumor disappear. the sainthood ceremony is

>> springtime in december. not any more. it feels hike wept. it is the final weekend of fall. technically winter begins monday evening around this time around 11:48 p.m. this last weekend of fall definitely has a little bit of a winter chill to it. let's take look what's going on take you threw time lapse video from today starte started off gd gloomy in kutztown at least sunshine. it was a little gloomier down the shore today but everyone ended up with at least a little bit of sun this afternoon. and then the clouds tried to roll back in this evening. we are tracking a few snow showers tracking across portions of the western and central pennsylvania at the moment. these are dying out. you can see as they move over the higher terrain here of central pennsylvania there's starring to fizzle i can't rule out one of these surviving againing into our area overnig overnight. i think mainly they fall apart but if you wake up in the middle of the night you see a few flakes flying don't be shocked it is definitely cold enough for that and certainly lake effect event will be taking place up across portions of the new york state and the great lakes regi region. as we head through the weekend for us, really no big snow in

the forecast and in fact our chance at a white christmas is as close to zero as you can possibly get because temperatures are going to warm up almost 30 degrees from tomorrow's highs to the christmas eve highs. tomorrow we're only in the low 40s much it's blustery, it's cold. now keep in mind this is not abnormal for this time of the year but it is abnormal in the wake of what we've been enjoying and the wind is going to make our highs in the low 40s feel like the low 30s. high pressure gave a foot hold on sunday that mean the winds die down a little bit. very seasonal december day. nice day to be outside little chilly for the eagles game. i'll have that forecast in a moment. monday more clouds invade the entire northeast as the system approaches. not a very clean warm sector so to speak warm front off to the north. a southern flow and temperatures will rise into the mid 50s pretty quickly. it's just a chilly weekend and climbing again. tomorrow morning, again it feel like the 20s and the teens when you wake up and watch what happens in the afternoon. 4:00 o'clock, still doesn't feel any better than freezing that's about as good as we'll get

through the day tomorrow. very chilly afternoon. and on sunday you'll wake up to 30 degrees that will be our first time below freezing in philadelphia. all season that will make it the latest subfreezing temperature on record usually we hit that in mid november. here we are december 18th and still have not dropped below freezing. wee get there tonight to the freezing mark. for your saturday mostly sunny, blustery and. your eagles kick off forecast it's dry, it's chilly. it's nice football weather but you can see how brief this cool down as we head into next week the jet stream lifts again the yellows and oranges and reds start to creep in by monday. and watch how that temperature climbs. it's a cold saturday. it's a chilly sunday and then monday we're right back to 56 degrees. tuesday at 60. take peek at christmas eve. 68 degrees. that will be a record breaker and the warmth could last right into christmas day. it looks cooler for christmas day. ♪ >> thanks kate. >> lesley what's coming up in sports. >> the eagles will need a little
