of course, big game tonight at the link, cardinals/eagles kick off at 8:30 it will be chilly. wind light out of the south five to ten. game time temperatures 38 degrees. we will talk about 70 degrees temperatures in the seven day forecast and show you when in a few minutes, nicole. >> new this morning, three people, were killed in a fiery crash, in the holmesberg section of northeast philadelphia cheri greg from our sister station kyw news radio 1060 its live at the the scene, cheri. >> reporter: good morning, nicole. three people dead and three vehicle fiery crash, that took place here and new police have lock down this section of torresdale avenue from rhawn street to ashburn as they deal with the mangled burned out aftermath of the tragic accident right here under the holmesberg bridge. police say it all happened around 3:00 a.m. this morning when a black chevy camaro, torresdale avenue, and, and a

second tractor trailer also caught fire, fire officials arrived on the scene, to the the three vehicles engulfed in flames. they contained the fire and found three people dead in the car. the the victims are all believed to be women, philadelphia police captain, anthony ginnaldi spoke with witt tonightes who say they saw the tragedy took place. >> we had an impact witness on the scene that said that they saw the the cam ross, north bound on torresdale avenue at a extremely high rate of the speed, coming up the hill here at torresdale street and got airborne and subsequently contacted the driver and lost control and struck the the park tractor trailer. >> reporter: no word on whether alcohol was involved, and we do not yet know the identity of the victims. the authorities, called in hazmat crews to the scene after herbicide leaked from one of the tractor trailers. i understand that this is just a precaution, and says penny pack creek and businesses and a school are nearby, nicole, again, this is a tragedy,

three lives are lost but it could have been a lot worse, under the the bridge here there are more tractor trailers park here. there is an electrical station, a school and homes nearby. so kudos to the fire department and police officials who contained this firely blaze earlier today. live from holmesberg, cheri greg for kyw news radio for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". thanks for that update. meanwhile one man is in the hospital and one in custody after an overnight stab nothing southwest philadelphia. police say that a five three-year old man was stabbed in the chest with the kitchen knife. they say it happened on the 6,000 block of baltimore avenue just before 3:00 a.m. at last check that victim was in critical condition. now to campaign 2016, the final democratic presidential debate, of the year, was held in new hampshire last night. bernie saunders and hillary clinton moved past data breach scandal and candidates

>> police say that the 20 year-old male driver stayed on the scene, there is in word if he will face any charges. well, funeral arrangements are made for a new jersey state trooper killed in a crash. trooper eli mccarson from gloucester county will be laid to rest object wednesday. a viewing will be held in the morning at the rowan university in glassboro followed by services at noon. troop are mccarson was responding to a domestic disturbance on thursday morning when his vehicle went off the roadway in salem county. the his car crashed into a utility pole. troop are mccarson graduated from the academy in february. he had just gotten married in september and was 30 years old. well, a community in knoxville tennessee is mourning a high school if the the ball player who died saving others. fifteen year-old daveon dobson was killed by a gunman who fired in the crowd multiple times. investigators say dobson jumped on top of three girls to shield them. family and friend are calling the the teen a hero for his actions. >> it goodies to know wow

on the healthwatch a potential new weapon in the fight against growing epidemic of drug addiction which is now a problem in the communities every where. health reporter stephanie stahl has details on a new implant. >> we're good, yes. >> drew shaw talking with glory days playing football until he was injured and prescribed vicodin. >> when i graduated i was fully dependent on on opiates and it is cheaper to buy heroin. i grew up in gladwynn. i was sleeping on the streets of the fifth and cambria getting heroin. >> reporter: after years struggling with addiction drew is off drugs with the help of therapy and medications that he has to take three times a day. >> people look at it as a moral deficiency and i see it as a disease. >> reporter: tiny implant like this could make addiction treatment easier instead of taking daily medicine this lasts for six months. >> it can help improve

gathering the latest details, cherry. >> police have had this section of the torresdale avenue on lock down for several hours from rhawn street to ashburn as they work to investigate this three vehicle accident that claimed three lives. the as you can see only mangled, burned out metal remains with the black chevy, camaro, they are totally crush, that is a car where three people died. police say all this happened around 3:00 a.m. this morning, witnesses say the chevy camaro came down torresdale avenue at the a high rate of speed and crashed into a parked tractor trailer, that tractor trailer caught fire, and fuel leaked, leading to a second tractor trail tore also catch fire, when fire officials arrived on the scene, all three vehicles were engulfed in flames, they have put the fire out and they found three people all believed to be women, dead in the vehicle, the the car there, philadelphia police captain anthony ginnaldi says second one leak a herbicide

next weekend we are talking about highs above average in the the 50's. so, storm scan three, nice and quiet, in mostly clear skies throughout the day-to-day. a lot of sunshine. clouds do return tonight. sign of the warmer air coming our way and rain chances return. no threat for precipitation today, high pressure in control. here comes the clouds here during the day monday. monies still dry this storm system is well to the north and west, bulk of the energy over the great lakes and you can see there is no cold air, you have to go into southern canada to find snow from that storm. heading in to tuesday we have a surgeon of moisture, the scattered showers around for tuesday afternoon, temperatures still up around 60. we will not see sun this week but still warm. here are rain chances, nothing on monday, 50 percent chance tuesday. wednesday is our best shot to see wet weather. christmas eve i will throw a 20 percent chance for a shower or two in the afternoon but most of the area does stay dry throughout the entire day. here's the setup, jet stream is back on the move, and it moves north and it is still to or north and west.

we will be on the warm side of the storm systems, however, it will pull in that gulf of mexico moisture but our highs, running well above average. almost 20 degrees above average, once again and record highs likely for christmas eve, possibly into christmas day as well, as that cold front is delayed a little bit. forecast high for thursday, christmas eve during the day 70 degrees, old record is 64, that was setback last year if you will remember. we did have a warm spell as well. and then christmas forecast for the day on friday, still mild at 58 degrees, with sunshine and clouds. today though, pretty much average for middle of december, 45 degrees for our high, lots of sunshine, wind lighter, tonight, 36 for the the low not as cold, a few included do return and here's that warming trend each day through the week, mid 50's on monday, winter officially arrives 11:48 at night. sixty on tuesday with showers. better chance for showers wednesday highs in the mid 60's. seventy on thursday. we will keep it in the mid to upper 50's for christmas day into the weekend. now, do you love watching
