unsettled weather to go along with it, like you said, trade off it, tends to be the story, as temperatures continue their upward climb in the days ahead, what comes along with it is a little bit of unsettled weather. let me walk you through all of t we go outside, view of storm scan, just tri-state sweep, sort of snapshot view of the radar to give you sense of where the bulk weather is, frankly the bulk now off shore. but what you are going to be left with is a gray sky, certainly little misty and definitely some of that spray coming off of the other vehicles, as you travel out and about on this lunch hour, and obviously still scattered rain, coming down lightly down through southeast new jersey for example, look at some of the area rain amounts, not heck of a lot. this is leerily nothing, more than huge nuisance for your travel plans, we're only talking tent after inch plus in a cup ill of chose spots. low totals will likely go up little bit before the day is said and done. but the bulk should be out of here no later than two, three hours max. fifty-eight the current temperature at the airport, already in the 60s in dover,

we do expect to hit the low 60s in philly as well as down at the area shore points throughout the course of the afternoon, very mild afternoon for the poconos no less, let's take quick peak at the records that are currently standing, for christmas eve. that is going to be the really warm day of our forecast, so these are numbers to beat and avenue feeling we will beat these records not just by couple of degrees, erika, but probably smashing these records down the road. we'll talk about it coming up. >> hey not the only ones enjoying weather warm up. part of the northeast and midwest experiencing record highs, weather on the west coast just can't seem to make up its minds either. jericka duncan with more on the weather roller coetzer. >> it is beautiful today, incredible. >> at 52 degrees in buffalo, it was beautiful enough for waiters and walks in the parks. in a sit that i was slammed by 7 feet of lake effect snow last year, temperatures this week are more likely to inspire long walks on the beach. >> that certainly is right.

look at buffalo wednesday up to 61 degrees, one of many record highs, set from the great lakes down to the ohio valley. the focus on christmas eve moves to the northeast and down to the mid-atlantic numerous record highs talking 60s, and 70s the warmest christmas eve anyone has seen in that area. >> more than 2600 record high temperatures have been tide or broken across the lower 48 states this month. and in washington, d.c., cherry blossoms arrived months ahead of schedule. >> doesn't feel like christmas yet. >> but no where is the tail of two climates more obvious than the ski slopes. this connecticut resort can't even keep the fake snow from melting. while in colorado, the real snow just keeps coming. skiers there are enjoying being on the edge of much larger cold weather band, directing from park city up to spokane. >> well, this is tail of west versus east, just watching to see if it is possible that the stormy snowy conditions out

doctor who died under mysterious circumstances at a center city hotel. this as authority wait for autopsy result. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch has the latest. >> a rainy gray day on walnut st. outside the rodeway inn, where late monday morning a man in his 70s was discovered dead in a fifth floor hotel room. today commissioner charles ramsey says police are awaiting new detail from that victim's autopsy. >> we'll wait for the medical examiner to take a look at the remains and see if he can make a determination, homicide is on it, and doing what they can to try to determine what if anything took place. foul play, is it not. we just don't know. >> police sources identified the deceased as psychiatrist doctor howard baker, who keeps an office a few blocks west about broad and walnut. "eyewitness news" has learned baker was found with something wrapped tightly around his neck, perhaps a belt or a clot. at first he was thought to have been involved in erotic

affixation, sex act which one purposely lit their own air supply, but as the police probe continued, homicide detective were called in on the investigation. >> as part of their investigation police spent hours here at the inn speaking with staff, reviewing records, looking at surveillance video. >> i knew the news cameras at the rodeway inn, it wasn't going to be for something good. >> justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> police in delaware county make arrest in connection to a series of recent bomb threats against local businesses. dennis beck is facing charges for terrorist i can threats, harrassment, and related offenses. for allegedly making bomb threats against wal-mart, right aid, and family dollar store in upper chichester, 50 year old is held in delaware county prison on $250,000 bail. police say they easily tracked him down because he called using his own cell phone. >> members of the delaware valley university wrestling team hurt when car plowed into a sidewalk full of people on the loss vaguest strip, well,

they are back expected to be back home today. investigators say, 24 year old lakeisha holloway intentionally drove into pedestrians on sunday night. a woman was killed, and dozens more injured. police say holloway's three year old daughter was also in the back seat, but that child was not hurt. >> army sergeant bo burying dall did not end area plea this morning, when he faced a military judge today on dis err sean, other charges, 29 year old arrived at fort bragg north carolina earlier today. bergdahl deserted his post in 2009 and held by the taliban for five years. he was swapped for five guantanamo bay detainees, bergdahl could be sentenced to live in prison. he faiths cents another hearing next month. >> a south philadelphia street is re-named in honor of theresa palsy, woman fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver nearly one year ago. the 600 block every kimble street where she lives is now called theresa's way. she died on december 23rd of

for the company after two previous landing attempts, landed in fiery blast. good for them begin credible they can have it land not justice integrate. cool stuff. >> how about our weather? i mean, can't even complain about the rain. >> so warm out there. >> exactly. really is such an atypical pattern for us, we heard in jericka's story earlier in the show partly due to el nino. what we could quote unquote call this monster el nino, strong signal in the atmosphere, part of the reason it's been so warm. well above average top five november. now we haven't had even one day in december that's even been average ever single day above typical. so, that said, let's go on outside. we will show you what we've been talking about, dreary day underway. one of the brand new hd cameras here, "skycam 3", we overlook, yes, beautiful moravian church there, moravian college off in the distance, can't quite make it out any more but the mountain top. at this time of year up in bethlehem they have the beautiful christmas starlit up.

such beautiful scene up here outside hotel bethlehem up in lehigh county. naiver dreary scene to be found out in the live neighborhood network, cut town area middle school have nothing but gray dreary sky, lush greenery, really is a beautiful view here, despite the fact you have got some gray skies. and it is late december. it is just not typical. the kind of pattern that we are going to be seeing unfold here. now, nationwide map, the only place to find snow at this point up toward the highest terrain of the rocky mountains, cascades, a lot of very heavy snow continuing to fall there. but even though this does start to migrate east, it is not going to affect us. we are however going to be impacted by some rain in the next couple of days because there is series of front moving through. front one as we speak still brinking in light rain to the over, you can see little hint of back edge to this, however, does look like we will start drying things out region wide towards the tail end of the afternoon so evening drive shouldn't be quite as impacted as this morning's was. record warmth though in the

cards for us, not today, still very, very warm, low 60s, the expectation here, even despite the gray skies, but then we are actually going to continue this warming trends into tomorrow. flirting with the records, see how we do, actual record is 66, but we're expect to go hit 65, and then the actual record breaking day comes on christmas eve. yes, not a type/. mid 70 ace is our expectation, and all three of these days watching for some wet weather. let's talk about some of the records as we just said. okay, so, record to beat today 68. we shouldn't come close to. that will we are going to flirt with it low 60s, but we don't think we will be coming to close to. that will awful close match here would be tomorrow at 6:00 five, the expected hi, and the forecast for our upcoming christmas eve, 74 degrees, that's going to just shatter the record we actually just set last year of 64 degrees. so, we've got couple of very warm christmas overs as of late. temperatures read upper 50's, flirt with six off at the point in ac, and quick check on the seven day for you, not one day is even close to typical.
