lower 50's, south and east of the city, willow grove 49 degrees. fifty-one in mount holly. what to expect on this sunday morning dense fog, temperatures in the the 40's and 50's, this afternoon, generally mostly cloudy skies, a few peaks of sun and warms up though 60's to near 07's shattering old record of 64. sixty's at the shore. fifty's for better chance of the showers. in the poconos we will talk about that cool down in the seven day coming up in a few minutes. new this morning, in montgomery county, one person is dead and another injured after a car collide with the tractor trailer overnight. paramedics responded to that scene in horsham at easton and county line roads shortly after 2:00 a.m. eye portion of the easton road will remain closed while this that investigation is completed. also this morning a teenage boy is in critical condition after he was shot on a west philadelphia street overnight. police say that this happened along the 6700 block of leads street. we're told that boy was taken to presbyterian hospital. police do not have a a suspect or a motive. well, a crushing defeat,

eight people are dead in a dallas fort worth, texas area this morning after several tornadoes touched down there preliminary counts from the national weather service find 11 tornadoes hit that area. twenty-five people have been killed across the south, since wednesday, and correspondent mark straussman is in mississippi with the the very latest. >> reporter: kenya williams is both heart broken and thankful. her brick home since childhood has left its roof and half its walls but she has perspective. ten mississippi residents were killed by christmas week tornadoes. six of them were her neighbors. >> my seven two-year old blind, disabled dad was in this house, when the tornado hit. so for him to come out with just a bump, and scratch on his forehead, with in broken bones, not severely hurt, didn't have to go into icu, i'm good with that. >> reporter: in northern alabama flash flooding was a

a helicopter dropped water on fast moving flames, in ventura county, california on saturday. wild fire which shut down parts of the heavily used 101 freeway and a portion of the the union pacific railroad tracks started christmas night. >> it was pushed by heavy strong north wind about 50 miles an hour, the the fire quickly grew in size. >> reporter: 600 fire fighters are battling the blaze trying to keep the fire from spreading to nearby homes in the beach area almost 100 homes were evacuated. >> we have a lot of fuel, light grass, shrubs burning right down on the coast in and among structure in the solemar community. >> reporter: fire fighters are keeping a close eye on nearby oil field as to deal were difficult rain and high wind and very dry conditions. >> they are trying to cut the line of the ridge line to prevent this fire from coming over. >> we have actually had even they you folks have had good rain in los angeles and orange

county we have literally have had a tenth of an inch in the last six weeks. >> reporter: no injuries have been reported, it is unknown what started the fire. wendy gilette for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". meanwhile, the the chicago police department is, again, facing some tough questions after another officer-involved shooting. this happened early yesterday morning, police were responding to a domestic disturbance call when they say they were confronted by a quote combative subject. officers opened fire and killed that man 19 year-old. they shot and killed a five five-year old mother of five. police have in the the released any details. the the department is already under a federal civil rights investigation after a white officer shot and black teenager 16 times last year. well, the bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms is now in the investigation in the fire that damaged a months income houston, texas. the fire broke out at islamic society of greater houston on christmas day. investigators say that fire had multiple points of oregon which is an indication that

but there is some warmth, look at pittsburgh. 66 degrees. that warmer air just waiting to move eastward we are still wedged with this cool air with the flow off the ocean. once wind switch around out of the southwest it will scour out fog and we will get that warmer air. showers across western pennsylvania, ohio, they will get here this evening. so much of the day to day is dry, big travel day to day as well, and friend and family, getting out of town there may be issues at the airport with the fog across the the northeast we will run into some showers, could be delays heading northward to the south not too bad so some fog in atlanta. temperatures very warm in the 70's. the wet wet's cross central part of the u.s. and even great lakes region of chicago, chilly there 37 degrees with some rain. looking better out west and to the mountains and pacific north west dealing with some showers across seattle. looking ahead for those airport delays. rain chances, 30 percent chance coming after 5:00 o'clock today. we will be dry on monday and steady rain on tuesday.

here's our set up, warm front to the west, we will be on the warm side of the system front comes through at six or 7:00. best shot to see showers this evening. that front passes to the the south and we're dry. it will be cloudy this high pressure locked in some coldest air and then the next storm comes in, that cold air stays in place. we will see light snow, freezing and lehigh valley and poconos before we see a tighter change over to rain every where as warmer air moves back in for tuesday. again, remember light icing is possible on some of the sidewalk, north and lehigh valley in the poconos we will put this late monday night early tuesday morning, everybody else just seeing plane rain. what is ahead as we head in the new year. record highs likely today, we will see a little bit of the cool down starting january 1st for a few days but still nothing terribly cold. you can see that cold air wedged in across the the northeast but look at the country. this is january 6th, we will see reds and are range indicating warm air. so today we are near 70.
