morning, good morning. >> you said it, you absolutely did. i actually have my winter jacket on this morning, and i was thinking i was going to be warm walking outside, but it was quite chilly. definitely starting to feel winter for sure. starting to feel a lot more like it should this time of year. but with that does also come the potential for our first rounds of wintery weather, precipitation wise, anyway. it actually comes from the very same storm system that unfortunately has been bringing so much damaging severe weather across the deep south. when we go first and for most to storm and three, to center the radar on the storm responsible for that it is still chugging away very not just expansive storm system but very, very well defined and organized and strong, as a result, and right around the dallas area where we've already seen numerous tornados reports. now they've got some snow starting to brew across that area. now, we are expecting to see this storm move through as well. the main storm center will bypass us through the great lakes region, but we get in on couple every fronts from t

looking at the temperature difference, it is chillier beginning. now little colder air to work with. most pronounced certainly as you head back toward the pittsburgh, state college, buffalo, little colder by comparison to this same time yesterday. but with that deficit comes temperatures like these, low 40's, low 30's, even, in the mount pocono area. and that's why we think you'll finally have a chance to see some snow and ice build in here, across specifically berks, lehigh, northampton counties, and points north of that, and west, into the pocono region. and then eventually it will all turn over to rain. but you will have to possible out awfully early tomorrow morning if you winds to find ice as snow, looks like it comes through the overnight, then warm air takes over. for now, temperatures are chim i. actually back to seasonable for a change, haven't seen that in a while, but stuck under cloud cover the better part of the day, eventually breeze kicks in later on, sign of things to come, as that very large storm system meisha starts to head our way. so tomorrow morning, might be quiet out there now, but

"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us now from our satellite center with the details. justin, good morning. >> erika, good morning, the shock has yet to wear off for thousands in the it will as area. where neighborhoods now lie in ruins, 11 are dead, dozens are hurt. storm trackers count as many as nine tornados having hit the dallas region with winds of at least 200 miles an hour. lightning flashes lit up glimpse of turning tornado, the damage easily seen after a twister touched down in cokeville texas. >> this home destroyed. >> it was pretty, pretty traumatic. we just came out to assess our own damage, and he's over there yelling for help.

>> we realize that he was running across the road, with his baby. >> debra lee king's neighbor begged her to take his two day old baby to the hospital. she did. her husband glenn tried bringing the wife from the damaged home. >> she was pinned in there between a wall and the door. >> she survived, her baby did not. in red oak texas, a tornado leveled a school, nearby the man road out the storm in a closet and heard the destruction outside. >> that sound, i just can't get that sound out of my head. >> across the dallas area, a range every damage from minor to major, eight dead are reported from the garland area, where the national weather service reports some ef4 tornado hit. now the recovery begins. justin schuller took what he could, his parents also grabbing a remains of their home. >> i stepped out because i heard the roaring. and that's when i saw it. >> many came to see what was left for this neighborhood, they found each other. >> compared to our neighbor's,

tristin clinic err was last seen december 20th a joint base mcguire lakehurst in burlington county. his body was found saturday. but the military is not saying anything about the circumstances of his death. >> we could learn more later on today, whether pennsylvania governor tom wolf will end the state's long budget battle. he could sign a budget approved by the legislature or veto either part of it or the whole thing. lawmakers passed a $30.3 billion spending bill without the increase in aid to public schools the governor wanted. state's government budget impasse has been going on now for six months. >> jerry sandusky getting retro payment from the state's pension system starting today. the state owes him $211,000 from when it illegally stopped hits retirement benefits. those payment stopped after the former penn state assistant coach was sentence dollars for child molestation. a court rules sandusky was not an university employee when the crimes happened. the first check will be mailed today, and sandusky's monthly payment of $4,900 will resume
