deadly tornados touchdown in texas killing 11 people and injuring more. officials believe that number could rise. the powerful twister ripped through home, reducing them to rubble. a disaster has been declared in four dallas area counties, and this morning, survivors are picking through what's left of their homes. assessing damage, look to go rebuild, live in texas with the latest, omar, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, erika. we're her, and some of the devestation that we're seeing

is pretty intense, and widespread. this used to be somebody's home. under there, that used to be somebody's car. that's a nissan. i'll step over here. you can see, it is just a mixture of trees, little bit of the roof, and the background far background that's somebody's second story a lot of rubble in this area. no pair is on, tornado knocked out the pear to the area t could be days until these folks have power. ill pause for a second, see if you can hear t there is some beeping in the background, and it is all around this neighborhood. people's either smoke alarms or fire alarms going offer because it just got ripped apart by the tornado, very erie sound, erika. >> and always a tragedy when you hear about these lives lost, but you often hear these great stories every neighbors racing in to help each other. have you heard any of these stories? >> we have the the second the tornado blew through here, it was quick, a lot of people were coming out to see who was okay, who needed help there. were people checking not only

on their neighbors, people in cars. minds you there is hit just before 7:00 local time. so there is a lot of people out on the street, either going to eat, coming home from eating, visiting family t caught a lot of people off guard. another thing we've heard, this is kind after lakeside community, rowlette here in north texas, a lot of people bring their pets up here. heard after lot of people helping neighbors fine pets, and the silver lining they found a loft pets also that have been missing. but, there is a loft destruction around here, it is going to take possibly weeks to clean it up. >> a loft prayers going out. thank you so much. >> well, speaking of the huge system, katie, saying that's going to move our way. >> slutly. >> quick moving? >> very much so, yes. >> severe weather so far often, it is here it, gone. thankfully not dealing with that kind of severe weather but certainly going to see the storm affect our area, in a significant way. looks like the first batch of wintery weather coming our

"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us now, at citizens bank park where howard has played his entire career, jan, good morning. >> taught rage to describe how the athletes are feeling this morning, as you mention, phillies first baseman ryan howard implicate in the this al jazeer report in response this morning vehemently denying allegations. take a look at this video. last night the phillies released this statement, in response to the al jazeer report reading in part ryan has spent his whole career with the phillies. and during that entire time has been extremely well contributor to our community.

we willfully cooperate with any investigation conducted by major league baseball. the report alleges that howard received performance enhancing drugs. the first baseman is mentioned right around the 35 minute mark. and the talk surroundings how alleged ped use impacted some of howard's top homerun producer seasons with the phillies. the issue though is that one of the key sources in this dock documentary, former pharmacist, charlie sly, has recanted his entire story. he's backtracked saying that his claims about supplying drugs to athletes were false and incorrect. other high profile athletes were named, as well, including denver broncos quarterback peyton manning. he had this to say. >> absolutely not, absolutely not, sick, discusting, makes me want to, you know, just -- can't said -- can't say it on tv emails me sick, makes me nurse. there are in shortcuts in the nfl. i have done it the long way,

woodbine, and again nothing more than a handful of cloud. we go back to storm scan, that's where we find this really large very substantial storm system. you got all of the pretty colors on the map available here, that so often can mean the storm itself is a monster. and that's basically what we've got. you have got snow. you have got very well defined center of circulation. that's actually going to scoot off to the northeast of us, so we should not have to deal with the actual storm center. but the warmfront lifts in later on today and tonight, and that's what is going toned up bringing our next wet weather chance. moisture being drawn in with this, it means we will also see very heavy rain. now, this is important, notice your time stamp. isn't until midnight tonight. remember this is a model that could start to build in sooner but generally overnight tonight we see wet weather building into our region. notice what happens though. there is very well defined cut off here. you will likely see freezing rain, snow, before it begins to turn over from south to
