off. >> lucky her. >> overnight rain has moved out so how does the last day of 2015 look? meteorologist katie fehlinger is here with the holiday forecast, good morning, katie. >> it is not looking bad at all. we expect to see brighter conditions out there today, even though sunnies not up just yet but skies are starting to clear, and it looks like they will stay nice and clear as we head into tonight, we have got fire works going on lots of festivities for the new years eve, well, for new years eve as well as new years day and it will stay quiet. the telltale signs of the damp boardwalk around here in our live neighborhood, we have had wet weather moving through last night overnight and we can expect just clearing skies beyond this point, 52 is current temperature down in rehoboth and even along some of the shore points in new jersey you you are still checking into at least upper 40's but storm scan is quiet for now on the radar, we will throw over this satellite picture in a loop and you can see retreat of the wet weather that is now since moved on out. here you go we will get an

area temperatures you mentioned a moment ago, still mild across southern most counties and through delaware and new jersey. forty-nine is current temperature at the airport and in the lower 40's even into mount pocono a milder start to the morning but keep in mind you might still run into some patchy fog even through this morning despite a dense fog advisory having been lifted, there may still be some incidents of that out there. 44 degrees is the current temperature in doylestown and yeah, it is still pretty mild for standard. cool enough to require the the coat for sure but we are, once again, rebound going back in the lower 50's today. normal high of about 10 degrees colder then what we expect to top off at here today and we are starting a off with a few more cloud we will finally see that sunshine and it will stick with us here through the the the rest of the the day and beyond, no less, sobrietier days ahead, making the headlines here today, quiet weather as we ring in 2016 but along with that quiet pattern, comes a colder one, we will send it over to traffic, guy. so, thank you very much. here's a lot at vine. the it is all clear in both

prosecutors just enough time to pursue this case, against cosby, and now here's a look at entertainer bill cosby being walked into court yesterday in elkins park where he was arraigned on second degree aggravate add assault charges. by court order he turns over his passport and was told to keep zero contact with his accusers. bail was set at one million-dollar, and cosby posted 10 percent and this morning, is free, on that bail. montgomery county prosecutors say that the charges come just under the 12 year statute have of limitations, window. in 2004, then temple university employee andrea constand told authorities that cosby drugged her and made sexual advances on her at his cheltenham home where she says that she was invited as a friend. the case was found in civil court and then montco d.a. bruce castor then did not pursue criminal charges. however newly released documents from that civil case and other new evidence was used in this new investigation, and cosby's lawyer had this to say in

response. >> the additional information that he is talking about came out of deposition that was part of the confidential settlement agreement that was never supposed to see light of day. at deposition that mr. cosby was induced, frankly into participating in by being told by this district attorney's office that there would be no criminal charges over a decade ago. >> prosecutor's job is to follow the the evidence, where ever it takes us. sometimes that means whenever it comes to light. >> reporter: as you heard very tender legal procedure a at the heart of this case as well. cosby is due back in court january 14th. he is set to be in elkins park, due to grand entrance in this case it is possible it will be moved here to norristown. back to you in the studio. >> thanks for that update. bill cosby a's ties to the philadelphia area includes temple university. he met former temple employee

andrea could be stand the would the man he allegedly assaulted, at the university through her work at the university. comedian attended college there in the 1960's. cosby satan temple board of trustees before resigning last year amid controversy over sexual assault allegations, and several universities have rescinded honorary degrees that they gave to cosby but temple is not one of them. dozens of woman have accused bill cosby of sexual assault or attempted molestation over past 40 years. at least one says that she cried like a baby when she learn of the charges against him. >> today it is still just a good day, regardless of if he is found guilty or not guilty. we're hoping that we get our day in court. >> it has taken 50 years of allegations and finally, there are enough that this is a critical mass. >> now those women are campaigning to get the statute have of limitations dropped on sexual assault cases in colorado. cosby has filed his own

defamation lawsuit against eight of the accusers. stay with "eyewitness news" for continuing coverage of the criminal case against bill cosby. we will have updates here on tv and on line at cbs philly.com. new this morning philadelphia police are investigating a a deadly shooting in north philadelphia. it happened shortly before 12:30 a.m. near the the intersection of the 25th and clear field, police say that the victim was riding a bike when he was shot, he was rushed to temple hospital where he later died. police are now looking for a minivan that was seen leaving the area at the time of the shooting. police say they caught a suspect who shot himself during a home invasion in north philadelphia but they are still looking for another suspect. a woman was home with her children when two men burst into an unlocked door asking for money, it happened after 11:00 last night on the 2500 block of bank croft street. investigators tell us when the the three and seven year-old children started crying, one of the suspects ended up shooting himself. one of the robbers then

said, can you shut your children up, and pulled his gun and fired a shot and he fired the shot, and shot himself, accidentally, in his left leg. >> officers caught him driving himself to the hospital. woman and children were not hurt but thieves got a few hundred dollars. well, eagles owner jeffery lurie and team officials are getting started right away on their search of a new head coach and fired coach chip kelly is thanking him and the philly fans. kelly released this statement last night saying i'm grateful for jeffery lurie nora allowing me to coach his philadelphia eagles for the past three seasons. i deeply regret that we did not bring this great city and its fans the championship they deserve. kelly's replacement is offensive coordinator pat shurmur. eagles are playing for pride when they take on the giants at met life stadium in north jersey. yesterday afternoon lurie said he is looking forward to the fresh start and wished chip kelly well. >> i look forward to watching

the devastation caused by historic flooding in the midwest. as marley hall reports the the water is still rising this morning and those water logged communities. >> rising flood waters washed over roads, and homes and businesses in missouri on wednesday. fire fighters rescued one man trapped on top of his pickup truck. >> we say anything over and over and over it would be don't drive-in water. >> reporter: half dozen houses were lost out in st. louis where the mississippi rivers meet. carla bryant organized residents to save as many homes as possible. >> we have done everything that we can but we still just do it. >> reporter: in valley park volunteers tried to protect this business which is only a block away from a levee. >> the levee behind us has only a foot to go and then there will be some flooding. >> reporter: sandbags are often no match for raging rivers. forecasters say flood waters

the the celebration here in times square, doesn't begin until 6:00 this evening, but there are already several road closures in place in and around this area, as you can see behind me there are plenty of barricades up, already up as well. the security is normally high for this celebration, but this year, it is entitler. in new york's iconic times square the nypd says 6,000 police officers will ensure it is most safe place to ring in the new year, highly trained and newly formed counter terrorism unit will be on patrol. >> they have been talking to nypd. people should feel safe because we're going to be there. >> reporter: more than a million people will attend the biggest celebration in the far away inside a new operations centers in downtown manhattan officers will monitor thousands of camera feeds. on the ground, radiation detectors will be deployed along with bomb sniffing dogs, police, helicopters and snippers will also keep watch from above.

for new years party or fire works, so katie is here, beautiful dresses, what can we expect. >> you have to wear a coat overtop of it. >> i hate when i see woman walking around with just their dress on. >> yes. >> you are making me cold. >> no kidding. >> cold by association. >> right. >> it will be a night where we don't have wind to deal with. it will be more seasonal out there, so, dose of reality more than anything and actually last year, i don't know if you remember or in the but we had quiet weather last year too but it was colder last year. we came off from very, very chilly winters in recent years but this year, early kick starting the new 2016, january, we will end up with some pretty typical weather, at least initially here. let's walk you through everything. we are seeing wet weather we had start to pull a away quickly. we are still seeing cloud overhead but that is starting to thin out with time and storm system responsible for that getting swept away and

high pressure will retake its place. that does mean a much quieter pattern is about to settle in here for us and stick with us for a couple days which is great news. certainly bodes very well if you have any kind of outdoor plans coming up but with the good can come the bad if you are in the a fan of the chill expect that it will turn colder out there but just seasonably so, nothing too out offhanded here when it comes to the chill we are looking at. we will talk temperatures in a second but essentially what is happening is this, high pressure is regaining control as we said and it will allow those temperatures to drop off closer to their typical normal. we are talking low to mid 40's at this point for better part of the outlook beyond today. fifty-one is where we stan at ac airport. forty-nine in philadelphia. already above average. but when the sun does come up that we will get you in the lower 50's here today. but looking by comparison to points off to the west and north of us, in chicago, already below freezing and even in the teens in the twin cities. what does that mean for us?

it is all too familiar site hoverboards bursting into flames. >> wow, there we go. there we go. here it is. >> that is just the latest fire, man in los angeles posted this video on facebook yesterday, after his board caught fire on the sidewalk. about 30 seconds after he started recording the smoking hoverboard exploded. fire fighters quickly put out flames and in one was hurt. >> wow. >> um-hmm. family in new york says they are lucky their apartment didn't burn down after their hoverboard caught fire as well >> papal sanchez from our

sister station in new york talk to the family about the the big scare. >> ten year-old delilah johnson is still shaken up after hoverboard he got for christmas exploded, inside of their apartment. this is all that is left. >> it is sitting on my floor and it just blew up, and sparked, and fire started to come from the toy. >> reporter: burn marks on the floor show where johnson's say it was plugged in. >> clearly looking at this device, the fire started inside the tea vice in the chamber where the battery was logged. >> reporter: nypd showed us johnson's charred, melted board. family says lithium batteries were charging for almost four hours when it burst into flames, sending parts flying. >> my kid could have been riding it and it could exploded had he haddon something flammable he would have went up in flames too. it is in the safe. >> reporter: johnson's were able to put out fire with water and carry the hoverboard in the hallway before fire fighters arrived and took ate way. >> would i not plug one in my home. >> reporter: the the fire

commissioner daniel nigrow say this is second fire involving a hoverboard this week and with similar, fires being reported all across the the country fdny is looking into the safety of the riding toy with local state and federal legislators. >> which of these devices are dangerous, why they are dangerous and, if need be, government will issue precautions against them and even perhaps make them illegal. >> reporter: he does not want one anymore. >> take it off the the the market. >> ban them. don't sell them. i mean, those things could kill somebody. >> reporter: johnson's say having a joy ride isn't worth the risk. >> we keep hearing about these things over and over again. that was hazel sanchez reporting. more than two dozen hoverboard fires have have been reported this month alone and experts say that inexpensive lithium ion batteries for blame for those fires. you saw mike tyson fall off of one yesterday. >> if they are not falling off it is exploding. you hear it every day coming
