of the big plans kenny has for the city of brotherly love. and, new this morning, two people escape burning home overnight. now, investigators are trying to determine what sparked those flames. >> good morning, it is monday, january 4th, i'm erika von von tiehl. we check in with justin and meisha a kids, watching at home, don't be like justin, don't ditch your coat, hat and gloves before you head outside. meisha, it is cold out there. >> it is cold, erika, i'm right there with you. justin, i'm shaking my finger and head at you. right now the roadways looking pretty good. we do have very serious accident on the new jersey turnpike, i'm going have updates coming up in just a minute. first, going out to you, roadways nice and dry, which is good. and i hear that we might see some sun despite the cold? >> yes, we will see a lot of sun this week. don't get me wrong. i did bring my coat in today. i think it is just more laziness, just don't feel like putting on when i'm out here for minute or so. but yes, cold, temperatures in the 20's, three's, windchill values in the teens right now some spots. but again, sun today, won't

help things out whole lot. thirty-three is the current air temperature, not factoring the wind at the airport. twenty-seven in allentown, 17 in mount pocono, where you saw snow flying from the snow guns up at jack frost big boulder, and the problem is these temperatures aren't going to climb hot local more from where they are right now. so kind of leveled off already. twenty-six in doylestown, 27 degrees in quakertown, there is the wind. coming in out of the north, 16 miles per hour, sustained in philadelphia. so that's ushering in the arctic air mass when you factor in the wind on exposed skin feels like 23, wilmington, philadelphia, 17. up in the lehigh valley, allentown, these numbers may drop throughout the afternoon as well. then tonight, it will feel like single digits, when you factor in the wind. storm scan3, some clouds rolling on through, lake effect snow showers coming over the mountains every central pennsylvania, some of the flakes might get through here through the morning into the afternoon, don't be surprised if you see passing flurry. so this morning, some sun and clouds, two's and 30's for the temperatures, will keep it in the three's this afternoon. maybe flurry, and it is windy. again, those temperatures

right now just kind of holding steady, in the lower to mid 30's, talk about how long it lasts when i show you the seven day in a few minute shall meisha, a we head over, check the roads. good morning. >> good morning, justin, happen my dan to you, happy monday to all of you at home. just waking up with us we do have fatal crash here in hamilton township. you can see the video behind me playing a lot of flashing lights, people out of their vehicles, crews on site, police, fire, all of them trying to get this cleared out of your way, a pedestrian was hit this morning on the new jersey turnpike, northbound, before 19a the left lane of that outer drive is still blocked. not causing too many slow-downs, but, what we will have is if this doesn't get cleared out of the way soon, a lot of gaper delay as there are still driveable lanes through this area. so, if you can avoid that area, certainly want tonight we have another accident here, 95 south at cottman, pulled all the way out to the right shoulder. experience here even though on the right shoulder g going to get some slow downs, seek some break lights going on because of that, all of the flashing lights and activity there. septa bus route back to their normal boarding location at

want him back next season. bradford, finished with decent numbers, 19 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, but he really came on during his final seven games. sammy will be a free agent, and he discussed the possibility of getting pat surround mura chance to coach the eagles full time. >> the quarterback head coach relationship is extremely important. in any organization. and obviously, given the history that i had with pat, you know, we were together, my rookie year, then kind of reunited this year. you know, i think it would mean a lot to me. i would love to play for them. i enjoyed playing for them today. obviously, if he is a candidate, then i hope he gets serious consideration. >> so, bradford, casts vote for pat shurmur who the eagles will talk to this week. we also know they've interviewed coach duce staley it happened late last week, and with the season now officially over, coaching is her love jump into high gear. there are two names to look out for: one of which you may know, that is sean peyton,

head coach of the saints. there are rumors he could be let go by the team and a report says if that happens, he'll lead the eagles wish list. the 52 year old peyton won superbowl during the 2009 season, other possibility is adam gates. the offensive coordinator of the chicago bears. he helped make jay cutler viable quarterback in chicago and had previously work with peyton manning in denver. he is just 37 years old, but is a hot coaching candidate right now. and who ever the coach is, likely have to figure out what to do with demarco murray next season. eagles are hoping to see more plays like yesterday, 54-yard touchdown, the longest of his career. murray says he has no regrets. >> no, i don't know what the future will be, and offense, but whatever it is, i'll try to invest in it. >> so that was demarco murray. first before i head over to the touch screen, we have to give out this beautiful fake football here. final time this season. why not give it to sam

dry, so they can make snow around the clock, skiers and riders will love it. open. so hit it up. maybe call in sick? >> justin gave permission? >> i gave the permission, ya. look at the temperatures right now, not bitter cold. the actual air temps, upper 20's, low 30's, actually colder yesterday morning. but the winds, going to start to kick up through the afternoon, will bring the windchill values down. levelings off today. low 30's right now in the warmest spots, may get up to the mid 30's, that's about it, really climb up few more degrees with some sunshine, so sustained winds out the north 15, getting to up about 20 miles per hour this afternoon. so windchill values right now, exposed skin feels like the teens outside the city, 23 at the airport, two up in mount pocono. so if you are skiing and riding today, have that heavier jacket on for sure. the goggles, because they are cranking out the snow as well. there you go. new flurries possible today. otherwise, mixture of sunshine and clouds. high temperatures getting up to the mid 30's early afternoon.

a lot of people going back to work, 422 headlights in the eastbound direction, approaching trooper road. see moving in both directions, looking slow, just a sea of taillights, and headlights, on 422, now this is where we have the fatal accident, new jersey turnpike northbound before 195. the left lane block, that's now been all the way moved to the shoulder. not causing too many slow downs, but still, if you have to go around this area, just use caution, give yourself couple of extra minutes, erika, back over to you. >> police on the scene of faith al pedestrian accident on the new jersey turnpike, it happened just before 4:00 a.m. in the outer rodeway inn hamilton township, just south of interchange 7a. i know meisha keeping her eye on this. the left lane block for awhile, but all lanes are now back open. now word on why that victim was outside the vehicle and on the turnpike. >> president obama is starting his final year in office by tackling gun violence. he'll meet today with attorney general, lore eight lynch. as kip hutchinson reports, executive action may be part of the president's plan.

remain closed. >> a robbery and shooting interrupted by police in philadelphia's hunting park neighborhood. it happened shortly after 12:30 at broad and hunting park avenue. officers on patrol witness an altercation with one man pulling out a gun and shooting another. the robbery victim was shot in the wrist. he is list in the critical condition. the suspect is in custody pending charges. >> philadelphia police are checking surveillance video as part of their investigation into a triple shooting that left one person dead. investigators say a gun battle near front and west wishart street in fairhill started just before 6:00 sunday evening. police say there were 20 shots from two semiautomatic weapons, one of which was assault rifle. they also say one of the wounded, man in his 20's, was wearing a bullet proof vest. >> we know he is not a philadelphia police officer. but, since he's not identified at this time, we don't know for sure if he's involved in any type of security or type

of guard. >> forty-seven year old man is dead. two other are in critical condition. the other victim is 17. >> diapers at montgomery county restaurant forced to leave after an accidental discharge of mace. it happened around 9:30 last night at the apple bee's on north state street in pottstown. "eyewitness news" caught up with one woman who was inside the restaurant at the time. >> we started covering a lot. a woman said you better get out every here. >> four people were taken to the hospital to get checked out. >> 6:37. how does $400 million sound? pretty great? that's the estimated jackpot for the next powerball drawing. no one hit last night's drawing, but one ticket in pennsylvania, that's just five
