from the cbs broadcast center in philadelphia, this is cbs3 "eyewitness news" good morning, updating our developing story right now. a 6-year-old child safely back with his parents after a scary situation overnight. that boy's stepfather left him asleep in the car to run into a 7-eleven at bridge and oxford. while the stepfather was inside, a man got into the running car and took off. the vehicle was recovered about two miles away with the child still asleep. he's ok. the search is now on for that suspect. police are working on getting a description. our jan carabeo will have a live report coming up in about 30 minutes. it's great to hear he's ok. and the car was running. you need the heater running. >> that's just scary.

you look at the temperatures we're talking about when you factor in the wind most specifically, you're talking well below 0. in fact, the wind chill advisory posted until 9:00 this morning for carbon and monroe, when you're dealing with windchill values dropping as much as 20 below 0. through lehigh valley western chester upper bucks county and across philadelphia and the i95 corridor adjacent communities. at best you're going to feel like 0 degrees this morning. really cold start if you're lucky feels like it's in positive territory but you have to be pretty far southeast for that. here's where we actually stand on the thermometer, i'll call it the goose egg, in mount pocono. 0 degrees, 32 is freezing, you're well below freezing right now. 13 in philly and in atlantic city just 11. it's that wind. you know, it's not a strong wind but it's enough of a breeze and it's coming from a cold place, right out on the north and makes it feel that much colder. please bundle up adequately. grab sunglasses, you're going to

of addiction and believes she's no longer alive. over the weekend, hiker found those skeletal remains at ridley creek state park. her family is holding on to hope that amanda is still alive. >> that's all i have is hope and faith that she's coming home. i don't know what it would be to lose my baby. >> police asked amanda's family for her dental records. authorities say it will take some time to make a positive identification. a new jersey couple is behind bars this morning. police say they left their young children in the car while they gambled. this happened at parks casino saturday night. three children, age one, three and eight were found sitting in the back seat in the below freezing temperatures. their parents, ebony walker and garrett nelson are now facing multiple charges including reckless endangerment. >> spend the extra money and get a baby sitter. if you're a gambler, you made a hell of a gamble that day by gambling your children's lives.
