good morning, happy friday ladies? yes, good morning, tgif. roadways looking pretty good. just dealing with disable vehicle, stuff on mass transit i want to tell you about, as well. big news, the rain may shall pushing in this weekend, what's in store for thus morning? >> thankfully nothing in terms every any precipitation. thankfully looking at pretty quiet drive i would say, at least when it comes to how the weather will impact you. not dealing with a heck of a lot of sun glare, and also not dealing with any precipitation. so kind of the best of both worlds here. not the brightest start to the day. much like we've seen in recent mornings, you've had gorgeous sunrise, and also chill in the air. but now that's all starting, the tides turning on us, so to speak, we start to see more cloud cover building in, sign every things to come. looking at storm scan3, at the localized zoom, do you still have across the region dry conditions. but when we throw the satelite coverage over top of this, starting to see some of the clouds building in, and, again, it is just a sign of what's yet to come. eventually, we do start to see the wet weather building in. in the form of just showers, but primarily not until tonight. so for now, looking good,

40 degrees at this airport, it is cool outside, and dow advise that you wear the winter jacket. but, it is not too terribly harsh, definitely not that breezy out right now, nice calm forecast for us at least initially, 26 in mount pocono, so definitely chilly, a n there is a certain chill in the air, as go in toward central pennsylvania, scranton, specially in albany. check it out. 14 degrees currently up that way. we eventually start to see chill settle in. but that doesn't happen until this storm gets out of here. that's going to take a while, couple days actually, until that point, what you can expect, is rebound on the thermometer. don't get too used to it, but nice rebound today, tomorrow, sunday, along with it, though, does come wet weather, especially, this weekend, meisha, a as you mention. so for now, all is calm, all is quiet, but waiting on the rain. i'm going to time that for everybody a bit later in the show. >> thanks so much, katie. good morning to you and good morning to all of you at home if you are just waking up with us. good morning, so happy you're here this friday. keeping our eye on disable

vehicle pulled all the way off to the shoulder, ramps to the blue route, northbound, not causing too many slow downs. saw the truck go right by with ease, continue to see that as long as the volumes are nice and slow, but if it doesn't get out of our way we could see hiccups. southbound direction looking good, steady flow of headlight right now, fairly typical what we see in the 5:00 hour. mass transit, manayunk, norristown, spear g delays to up 15 minute because every signal issues, chestnut hill west, running new schedule monday. market frankford line starting new construction project, starting monday, so four bus detours right now, read the detours, three, five, seven, detour eight p.m. to 4:00 a.m. starting monday will run all the way through january 31. so this will affect some of you. police activity, 16th street, told that to avoid, cheltenham, took any creek parkway, one lane blocked there, this morning, nicole, back over to you.

>> thank you. we do have more on the philadelphia police officer shot overnight in what the commissioner is calling attempted execution. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch live for us at penn presbyterian medical center where the officer now in surgery, justin. good morning. >> reporter: nicole, good morning. commissioner richard ross says it is amazing this officer even survived, he was in his cruiser being shot at point blank range, still manage today react, fire back, call for help, and also, hit that suspect. we do have police radio just moments after the officer was hit. >> i'm shot. i'm bleeding heavily. >> police say there is no doubt that this was an ambush. they say that this took place about 11:40 thursday night at the corner every south 60 and spieth streets. officer jesse heartnet in his cruiser approaching that intersection when the shooter began walking toward him with a 9-millimeter gun we are told and continued to shoot right into the cruiser window in all

firing some 13 shots hitting heartnet three times in his left arm. officer heartnet did return fire. the suspect, 30 year old man, did try running away, but heartnet hit him at least three times, that suspect caught by officers around the corner near 60th and delancey street. the weapon was also recovered, there as well. officer heart innocence net was brought here to pen presbyterian, and the mayor and commissioner were here overnight comforting heart innocence hit's girlfriend and his father. >> we're just happy he's life. and there are too many guns, too many guns on our street, and i think our national government needs to do something about that, this is dangerous, dangerous job, and everybody who takes it knows that. but when you see something like this, and i guess it is even more scary when you think about the time, very serious reminder would for anyone to have to deal with each and every day. >> we heard mayor kenney calling on washington to takings on guns and commissioner ross reminding us

all of the risks that comes with taking on the badge. as for officer heart net, he's 33 years old, a 18th district officer with five years on the force, and also, too, essay wake, coherent at this time, though he may have some broken bones, as well as possible nerve damage, as a result of this shooting. but as we've all heard tonight, very lucky to be alive this morning. nicole, back over to you. >> justin, thank goodness for that. we'll get back in touch with you. >> starting today, more septa police officers will be wearing body cameras like the one you see here in this video, transit agency is making the cameras part of every officer's standard issued equipment when on patrol. some officers started wearing the cameras during a pilot program in july of 2014. >> well, two men await sentencing in connection with a center city building collapse. prosecutors want demolition contractor griffin campbell to serve 25 to 50 years in prison. he was convicted every involuntary manslaughter and other charges. excavator operator sean benschop pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

in 20134 story brick wall collapsed onto thrift store, killing six people, and injuring a dozen other. a domestic dispute may have led man to jump to his death after causing traffic chaos on the roosevelt boulevard. police say the 29 year old driver was traveling northbound, in the southbound lanes during yesterday's evening rush. he side-swiped two cars, and hit another car head-on near the ridge avenue off ramp. now, after the crash, police say the driver jumped the overpass suffering injuries that later led to his death. three others suffered non-life threatening injuries. >> well, two iraqi refugees are arrested following a multi state terror probe at cbs news correspondent brian web reports one of the accuse from the sacramento, the other from houston. >> court documents reveal the 23 year old sacramento suspect communicated over social media with an unnamed individual living in texas back in 2013. in one exchange, the two allegedly discussed training and fighting overseas.

the texas person identified as individual i write: i need to learn from your weapon expertise. the sacramento suspect responds: if you arrive and i am still there, ill train you. a criminal complaint unsealed thursday accuses the sacramento man of traveling to syria from the us and back again after fighting alongside a terror organization then lying to investigators about it. authority say the iraqi citizen originally came to the u.s. as a refugee in 2012. >> this was an individual who was committed to going back home and probably, as an iraqi, to fight what he perceives as corrupt and regime. >> law enforcement officials accuse the houston suspect of providing material support to isis. the 24 year old texas man entered the us as iraqi refugee in 200 -9d and was granted permanent resident stat just 2011.

start to build in, and once they do get here, we are casino every just looking at dreary weekend because of it, so, here's how it all shakes out. start things off at high noon today. still nothing to see here folks. other than some cloudsment probably couple of sunny breaks along the way too. now future weather starting to pick up. may have bit more widespread coverage. see how we do. notice, little shades of pink that show up it, will likely be just cold enough in the mountain us terrain only for some icing, so there is went i weather advisory goes into effect from monroe county specifically tonight as far as our viewing area is concerned. little drizzle here and, there shower here and there, some clouds, kind of foggy tomorrow. not the prettiest day but not a wash out. you want heavy rain. you got to go to overnight saturday into sunday, some of the real heavy rain comes in. it comes through generally in pocket initially but a dousing, maybe as you're headed out to sunday brunch or church services, so you might need the heavier rain gear for that. in the meantime, things should begin to dry out for us. but what you notice, is that it is just rain. where the heck is the snow?

keep going. keep going. keep going. good. there we go. >> wow. two state troopers helped deliver a baby on the garden state parkway in union county. the expecting mother and her husband were headed to the hospital of course when they realized they weren't going to make t so they pulled over, they called 911, the troopers quickly arrived, and they delivered that baby, in five minute. >> the father was first worried, and at that point, you know, we're seeing a baby, and with a look, it is a girl, you know? >> oh, what a story. we're told that mom and daughter are both doing well this morning. well, here is another remarkable birth story for you. this time a texas mother gave her daughter the gift of life for a second time. cbs news correspondent omar villafranca report on the true labor of love. >> say hi to the world. >> meet baby kelce. she is here, because of her
