north for. that will most every us are across the eastern united states in the midst of warm air. one loan winter weather advisory affecting one loan county in our area, that goes up to specifically monroe county, and it doesn't take effect until 10:00 p.m. tonight. that's where you have got the one and only best shot to see any kind of icing take place, again, simply too warm for that, anywhere else. currently at 39 degrees here in philadelphia. under the dry weather, and with thankfully pretty light wind, too, so it doesn't feel that bad outside. hour by hour, we go, looking at temperatures mid and upper 40's, as we head forward in this forecast, should top off around 47 degrees, expect to see some clouds out there as the day goes on, few peaks every sunday but it means no sun glare. >> absolutely, and whenever we can get sun i'll take it, even if it is just a little bit. good morning, hammy friday, happy your area here. vine looking good, all open westbound and eastbound, and the ramp from the schuylkill to the vine also now open for those of you wouldn't berg that, as well. then we have this disable vehicle, you can still, still

there, disable vehicle on the schuylkill eastbound, rat many p to the blue route northbound not causing too many problems but we do know this is very busy area, right here, so this is going to cause some problems probably for those of you trying to make your way on to the ramp if that doesn't get cleared out of the way, quick look at 95 at academy, moving in the southbound direction, looking actually pretty okay. we have an accident, pa turnpike eastbound between street road and delaware valley, an accident involving four vehicles. this is going it cause some slow downs most definitely if this doesn't get cleared out of the way. another accident 52nd street at whitby avenue, world of mass transit, manayunk, norristown, experiencing 15 minute delays, chestnut hill west, starting on monday, nicole, back over to you. >> meisha, thank you. we are continuing to follow developing news this morning, after philadelphia police officer is shot three time, during a ambush in his patrol car. now, that office is her undergoing treatment at ten presbyterian medical center where we find "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch. how is that officer doing this

morning, justin? >> reporter: good morning, he is recovering this morning, police commissioner richard ross and mayor jim kenney stood vigil with the family of officers jesse heart net here, overnight here, at the hospital. he is being called brave, and also being saluted for his quick actions as he undergoes surgery and begins recovery this morning. heart net was hit throw times in his arm, and we have police radio of the moments after. >> i'm shot. i'm bleeding heavily. >> that's officer heartnet telling dispatch he has been hit and bleeding heavily. only second after police say he was ambushed, about 11:40, thursday night at the corner of south 60th and spieth streets. heartnet was in his cruiser approaching that intersection, when police say a male shooter in his 30's auctioning toward him while shooting 9-millimeter gun. he kept walking and shooting right into the cruiser window n all the suspect firing some

13 shots, and officer heartnet returning fire as the suspect tried to make run for t but heartnet's bullet hit him at least three times. police call the man around the corner near 60th and delancey streets, also found wept thon nearby. heartnet was brought to pen pest bleigh tear yan, that suspect over to h.u.p., the mayor and commissioner stood with his girlfriend and his family overnight. and commissioner ross says he's seen video of that near fatal encounter. >> we have video we captured, absolutely one of the scariest things i've ever seen. i mean there is guy tried to execute the police officer. police offers her no idea he was coming, amazing essay life. he was shot three times in his left arm. significant damage to his arm, he's got at least a broken arm, significant damage to his nerves. fortunately, he's awake, he was coherent, he's okay.

now what is called the correction, which means, they've dropped 10% from previous highs. this morning, traders though will be turning their attention from china to the u.s. economy. the government releases the december jobs report this morning, before the opening bell. analysts expect the unemployment rate either held steady at 5% or fell to 4.9%, the first time it has been below 5% since the financial crisis. and target trying to get its cool fanning tore back, retailer teaming up with limited edition collection, it includes sweatshirts, sweat pants, tank tops. would cost less than 50 bucks, some cases the prices would be half what they would cost at soul cycle location, something tells me these will sell out quick. nicole? >> i'm sure, that is hot item. jill, thanks, we appreciate t $700 million growing, the powerball jackpot is now the largest in us history. nobody won the $524 million jackpot on wednesday night. however, in new jersey, seven, third prize winning tickets were sold that matched four white balls, and the powerball

good morning, a the love excitement here on blue mountain today. we have creatures running from outside the woods, ski instructor already up this morning, sherrie, so talking world record we're trying it break today. what's that all about before we get into the fun of skiing and learning how to ski? >> at 10:00 participating number of other resorts up and down the east coast, and going to be setting word record. so at 10:00 having people come out. we have at least 100 people already sign up for t taking walk-in's, if you want to participate an event unlike any other, for skiers, snow borders, so pretty p.m. topped have that happening here at blue mound mountain. >> and the event largest group learned to ski or snow board? >> the largest one. >> and obviously great time. >> tons of lessons here, give us run down what do you have offer. >> lessons run continuously on the weekend so come at your disposal, whatever teamwork for you, an hour and a half on the snow.

come to stop. and then another way that we teach people is by turning, you turn, turn, turn, turn, you ends upper deck hear. as we said before if your skis are pointing down the hill you go down f they're pointing up the hill you go down backward, be mindful of that. >> we want to be that way. >> turning slowings your speed down, stay in control, and your that you're safe and have good time out on the slopes. >> can we give our skiers a little tease, i'll try to get going here, but try to get going by the photographer now. if i don't face plant you guys. so i just turn my skis this way? >> point them down the hill. i'll be right here, next to you, if you need. >> let me put -- i got it. >> so you don't want it cross your tips. that's good way toned up on the ground. >> okay. >> so give yourself little kick. feel the front of your shins against your boots, just start gliding, don't look down. look where you want to go. >> my first mistake. if you look down, you might end up following your eyes down, so just slide forward. >> this isn't bad.

any feet like this the whole way. so that's what i do, yes. all right, let's gave you a sense of what the ski forecast looks like, put things into motion, our sweet know board goes right across the graphic there. starting off with a little bit of sunshine, breaks for more clouds or yields to more cloud cover as our next storm arrives, likely bridges in potential for little hint of icing tonight into tomorrow, giles, so if you are traveling, keep that in mine. we will also end up with temperatures little bit warmer as time goes on, nothing more than fog and shower on saturday. but heavier rain sunday. so if you are trying to get your skis in this weekend, i highly suggest doing it either today or tomorrow. let's talk bit more very quickly about that freezing rain and snow concern. just hint of it, absolute worse, talking maybe up to tent of an inch of glaze, and definitely less than inch of snow, because eventually again the warmth will take over. we don't have a the love moisture anyway. we will also end up with more rain eventually. but, there could be some slick travel out that way. so do keep it in mind. quickly checking in with eyewitness weather watchers, we do have somebody at least

closer to the poconos checking in with us this morning, charles checking in with a lot of clouds this morning, naught bath pa with 32 degrees, temperatures little hint milder this morning, 40 degrees coming in from dave. he is in reading, saying at this point his dew .31.5. welcoming and saying good morning to ever one, not terrible start to the morning, decent start he is saying. 40 degrees comes in from another dave, david dutch in out in clementon, new jersey, also reporting more clouds than anything. let's jump ahead here. we take a look what's going on with storm scan. very quickly, i'll jump it back, here we go, here is the storm system, ushering in warmth with time. that's why we're expecting primarily a rainmaker out of this storm. if you want any ice you got to go far north to those mountains, as we mention, but it is going to be a soggy start to the second half of the weekend here, but 60 degrees. not a terrible trade off meisha. guess it depend who you ask, though, right? >> trade off, right, the rain, but you got 60s in january. i don't know. i guess.

i'll take the rain, just take the rain any day. schuylkill eastbound at spring garden, looking good, beautiful shot of spring garden, i love this shot of the schuylkill. looking good. you can see, maybe just a few brake light going off in the future, still traveling as posted speeds there, let me assure you, taillights eastbound direction, trooper road, looking good. both eastbound and westbound, looking good, but as you can see, the volume levels are now starting to build out there, as we progress and push toward our 6:00 hour, 95 south at cottman, a peak at this, looking pretty good. yesterday it was very, very busy at this stretch, probably right around this time, we start today see it build. looking good on friday, friday's tends to be little lighter in terms of traffic. that's always good news, accident here, pa turnpike eastbound, involving four vehicles between street road and delaware valley, two lanes are blocked, probably, because of those multiple vehicles. again, four is a lot of red lights flashing, will slow you down, accident in west philly 52nd street at whitby avenue. nicole, over to you. >> thank you, half time show
