there. >> absolutely. we're so excited about rain -- not rain. snow finally. a lot of people looking forward to this and in part because it isn't going to be a major snowstorm. it's just enough to give you a little taste that you might have been craving here finally see some snowflakes. you won't need the shovel. not going to have a huge impact on our evening drive. but it's enough that it finally gives that you little yeah, winter i knew you were still out there. how you doing? >> hello. >> let's go on outside. let's talk about statistics. this is an interesting season so far. thus far at least as of now, we have yet to see a flake here so we still are registering 0-inches not even a trace of philadelphia snow has fallen yet. what that means that we're actually tied for the tenth latest first measurable snow. makes sense. in any season we've actually measured snow, this is tied for the tenth latest date to actually see any of it. the latest it's ever been in a season with snowfall was february 3rd of 1995. so we'll see how we do here. i don't think that we can bang on a heck of a lot of
12:17 pm
accumulation but we'll see if we can pick up a trace. meanwhile here's a look at the clipper system responsible. a bit morrow bust in terms of snowfall intensity back through western pennsylvania, down the spine of the app playings but starts to sizzle once it gets here. we're not looking at this a very moisture rich system rather it lives up to its clack clipper expectations. it nudges through fast. it brings with it very limited moisture and it is going to send us on downward spiral on the thermometer. let's walk you through this here. first signs of life on the radar likely up in the poconos before this afternoon is all said and done. then it will overspread the rest of the region. we're not talking about widespread coverage either, gu guys. there's some of of you might not see one snowflake but a chick quick little burst to leave us with maybe a tenth of an inch and it gets out of here. that's how much we're talking about with future snow amounts that tells the story even at this point. we may not see much of anything at philly international. we'll see how we do. you might see a flurry flying much here's how it look outside
12:18 pm
on the neighborhood network. not bad. beautiful blue skies and sunshine versus the clouds overtaking kutztown it tells that you system is on the move from west to east and eventually you'll get here and bring certainly a lot of clouds. but very likely a rain or snow shower before it's all said and done. then we see the bottoming out of the thermometer. wednesday we don't hit the freezing mark and you have to factor in the wind, too. it likely isn't going to feel any better than the teens at best. so real frigid day coming up tomorrow. >> if it weren't for the snowfall today we'd be talking about sleet. >> totally. >> lose a few pounds and get healthier in a couple of weeks. sounds pretty good, right. >> nicole brewer caught with one of our favorite doctors to get details. >> reporter: all right. let's talk about a new year and a new you. if you want to get healthy and who doesn't, lose a little weight we've got the man you want to talk to dr. ian smith the creator of the shred diet and also author of a new book call the shred power cleanse. >> you've talk about this b about staying healthy and balancing your meals.

but now you're adding something to that. >> absolutely. everyone wants to cleanse. you know, and so many cleanses unfortunately are not good for you. they either malnourish are don't have enough calories. i wanted to create a cleanse that people can do only for two weeks and be able to feel like their also eating well and doing the right things so shred power cleanse is also about getting you not just to lose weight by the way average weight loss has been 8 pounds. >> wow. >> also lowers your blood pressure, lowers your cholesterol level. people reported lowering their sugar levels really about overall wellness. >> when you talk about cleanse i think most people say, that means no food. >> that's right. >> it's got to be drinking. >> that's right. >> but this is actually a solid food cleanse. >> this is an eating cleanse. yes, of course there are going to be smooth these you see here this is our signature drink the purple power dee tock smoothie. purple is the color. it's 2016 green is so yesterday. but in all honesty the truth of the matter is it's very tasty, it's sweet, has fiber in it so
12:20 pm
we have spinach, we have strawberries, pineapples, bananas, some flaxseed oil with omega three fatty acids and also some cold pressed organic apple juice. makes a wonderful smooth keyless than 300 calories it's not just smooth these you get to have wonderful snacks and salads. >> that's the great part. you get to eat during this cleanse. >> you get to eat. people also say when they're on long cleanses i miss eating something. we're not going to eat steak and chicken wings. >> darn. >> but we're still cleansing. but this great wonderful salad you can have we have tons of snakes, cucumbers and hummus, carrots you always want to go for crunch, almonds because crunch for some reason becomes an appetite suppressant. so you will have your smooth these, shakes and soups but you'll also have some solid foods to get you through the day. four meals and two snacks a day. >> it's an eating cleanse you say. but still lighter options here. so a lot of people worry that once they return to maybe their normal diet they're going to pack those pounds back on. what do you say to that. >> you will if you go back to eating all those fried foods and high calorie foods.
12:21 pm
the key -- >> steak dinners. >> steak dinner. the key out of the cleanse you can take those foods back on but you have to gradually bring it back into your routine. and so i recommend after the cleanse still do one liquid meal replace many for the next two weeks every day one liquid as replace many two weeks and then go back to eating like you were but always trying to eat cleaner. >> idea to cleanse your body of impurities, right. yes. >> how is this accomplished with the smoothie and then with the snacks and salads. >> these things have lot of antioxidants in them. they have a lot of nutrients they enhance the body naturally cleanses by the way your liver, your lungs, your kidney, your gastrointestinal tract your skin are natural cleansers with a proper healthy cleanse will do hans and the body's natural ability to cleanse. so all of the enzymes that help with cleansing these help to activate those enzymes. >> okay. you said this was good tasting smoothie. >> very good. i'm not going to take dr. ian' word for this. i will test this out. >> this is one of them. we have more than 50 in the bo book. so -- cheers.
