"eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter is live in conshohocken where he got an up close look at that damage today, walt? >> reporter: well, jessica, when you look at this, trees and shrubbery outside, ice coated and destroyed, it looks like there has been an all day blizzard or ice storm n fact, this was just one, 6-inch water main breaking a at 7:00 this morning and the damage that you see outside the headquarters of the dan lepoor construction company here is only the beginning. what we saw inside is truly amazing. it was a water geyser, not the groundhog, that gave business owner greg le poor his first warning. suddenly this winter had just gotten a whole lot longer and tougher. >> it created a geyser, like old faithful. >> reporter: ice immediately coated and destroyed shrubbery outside headquarters of dan lepoor and sons construction company but it was about to get much worse. >> it flew up, and over, on

top of the roof, flooding the roof like a tup. >> reporter: tons of water from just this one broken six net inch main, now cascaded on to the roof. >> the water just found its way in to the the building. >> reporter: taking us inside, le poor and fellow employees showed how they use plastic garbage bags and anything else they could find to cover electronic devices, as well as blueprints and other crucial documents. >> the second floor, all the way down to the first floor. >> little bit of the catastrophe but walls are buckling in my office where the water came from the roof. >> reporter: as repairs began, le poor and his fellow workers, took an unwanted break from constructing new buildings, to salvage what they could of their own. this is a sudden soggy knock out punch from winter. >> this is when these mains break i guess but this is just incredible, incredibly cold. >> reporter: taking another look live at this icy scene, at the lepoor construction

company. no one will ever know exactly how much water came pouring out of just that one, 6-inch pipe, and they will be adding up the damage here for quite a while to come. live from conshohocken, montgomery county, i'm walt hunter, for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> walt, thank you. happening right now a tree in danger of falling on the track is forcing patco to suspend services between the haddonfield and wood crest stations. chopper three is over the scene as crews worked quickly to take that tree down. we will go live to chopper three over the haddonfield station, you can see just a few people out there waiting for services to resume tonight. new jersey transit is also providing bus services between the the two stations, a lot of people out in the cold this evening, hopefully that gets fixed real soon. we will continue to monitor this situation and bring you very latest as we get it. speaking of another frigid night, keeping us in a deep freeze. meteorologist justin drabick is in for kate tonight and he is live on the cbs-3 sky deck

where you are feeling the chill tonight, justin. >> that is right, we are dealing with that arctic air for one more night and then will lift out tomorrow and wind gusting right now in center city. they will relax through the overnight hours. when you wake up tomorrow morning it won't feel as bad as this morning but look at our high temperatures today. could even get to freezing, anywhere across the region. twenty-nine that is tonight philadelphia coldest day of the season so far for sure. mid 20's right now at the airport. twenty-two in allentown. still suburbs are dropping into the lower 20's. we have a wind speed of ten to 15. it is coming down. that is good news, wind chills still in the lower teens in a lot of spots but those wind should begin to relax over the next couple of hours. by the time you wake up tomorrow morning in the so bad. few clouds rolling on through tonight, passing snow shower in the poconos and that is it. coming up we will talk about less wind in our forecast, milder temperatures but some rain for the weekend. those details in a few more minutes, back over to you. >> justin, thank you. here we go less than five

that is work we are doing right now in that case. >> suspect edward archer allegedly confessed to shooting officer hartnett in the name of islam. authorities are also investigating a tip that archer is part of the larger group of radicals who may pose a threat to officers. meantime students and faculty at bonner prendie high school in drexel hill are offering their support to officer hartnett. they have been holding a prayer service twice a day sips he was shot last week. he graduated from that school in 20 on 11 and remains on the hearts and mind of friend and strangers alike. >> some disappointment or frustration that it happened, something like that would happen so close to home, and someone that had walked the same grounds that they walked every day. >> sources say officer hartnett has to undergo two additional surgeries, his family says they are just taking it day by day. officer hartnett's police district received a special visit today. mayor jim kenney stopping by 18th district in west

philadelphia, during morning roll call. he thanked office are for their brave support, and services, and we're told he plans to visit other districts as well. classes canceled through friday at a philadelphia elementary school where a worker was injured from a boiler explosion. it happened around 12:30 at edmond elementary in mt. airy. school officials say the 61 year-old victim was working on the boiler when it exploded. school was evacuated and parents alerted to pick up their children. >> it sounded like an earthquake and it was scary because i thought there was a fire. my teacher said there was only smoke, the heater. >> no students or other school staff were hurt in the explosion but the cause of the blast remains under investigation. crews are still working to tap a sewage line break in mount laurel. overflow has been diverted on the ground to a township owned solar farm but we are told some did spill in the pennsauken creek. the new jersey department of environmental protects is monitoring the impact of that. the the utility says that

there are no water quality issues but asked residents to reduce their water usage while they continue they are work. investigation continues in the the row home fire that left two children dead this was the scene last night on the 400 block of north monroe street in wilmington. when fire fighters got there, a mother was found outside the the home was burned and a two-year old was handed over by a good samaritan unharmed. however when crews performed a search and rescue a three-year old and three month-old were found, neither one survived. >> they found any loss of life devastating. loss of life of children is even more so. anytime you hear a child trapped you step on that gas harder. you try to get there faster. >> you go a little deeper and hard other then a fully involved fire. these fire fighters did that good seven children and two adults lived in the home. authorities say there were no working smoke detectors. the high school basketball coach caught on camera

at 12. eighteen in scranton. it will lift out tonight and tomorrow. few cloud rolling through tonight as a weak system maybe bringing a snow shower through overnight hours in the poconos g news for ski resorts. the that is it. for us partly cloudy skies, sustained wind, down around 15 e the overnight. 11:00 o'clock projected wind less than 10 miles an hour. more comfortable heading out through the overnight. still cold but air temperatures in the 20's, tomorrow's wind, about ten or 15 miles an hour, out of the southwest, and southerly wind on friday, brings back that mild air, and i will show thaw in the seven day forecast. the here's the setup. a couple snow showers over the the great lakes, poconos overnight, the high pressure remains in control for tomorrow, a and then most of friday, so that keeps us dry. we will have some cloud around not total sunshine. friday warmest day ahead of the system. we will get south wind. this system will bring in some rain in here late friday night, after overnight hours into saturday morning. by saturday afternoon we will dry out. move the temperatures tomorrow morning waking up at 7:00 a.m.
