$4. >> yes, i won $4y got the nothing. >> don't spend it all in one place. >> nothing. anyway, search for an eagles head coach has taken another twist, former giants head coach tom coughlin has removed his name from consideration for the the job. all signs point to former eagles quarterback doug pederson being the the front runner. while eagles continue their search bird former coach chip kelly already has a new job. kelly hired by san francisco 49ers this afternoon. that leaves eagles, titans and buccaneers as only nfl teams without head coaches. our pat gallen will have much more on the search for eagles coming up in sports. just about an hour, members of the west philadelphia community will hold a meet to go discuss last week's ambush shooting of officer jesse hartnett. this is as the the fbi continues to investigate the possibility that the attack was an act of terrorism. >> reporter: fbi director james comby had a press conference here at the fbi headquarters just minutes ago revealed that the bureau started its investigation of suspect edward archer for allegedly shooting philadelphia police officer jesse hartnett just minutes, after archer allegedly confessed saying he did it in the name of islam. the bureau director emphasizing that it is, an investigation in the fbi's eyes of a terrorist act. only cbs-3 cameras were there as the the country's lead fbi agent, bureau director james comby, stopped into check on wounded philadelphia police officer, jesse hartnett. >> i was there, to show my gratitude, and my best wishes to this remarkable public servant. >> reporter: accompanying the the fbi director on the ten minute bedside visit in the intensive care unit, philadelphia police commissioner richard ross, hartnett a five-year veteran suffered three devastating bullet wound to his left arm.

after he was ambushed in his patrol car one week ago, allegedly by edward archer. >> we're talking about a human being, a police officer who was not only brave but is compassionate and we're ever so thankful that he survived that bar barrick attack. >> we at fbi level through our joint terrorism task force is investigating that attack as a terrorist attack. >> reporter: director comby at a press conference hours after his hospital visit add ago this despite archer's alleged confession claiming his attack was in the name of islam, there is not at this time any evidence linking him to terrorist groups or indicating any wider plot begins police. >> so far we will see no indication he was part of the organized cell of any sort and no indication that there is any follow on plot connect to that, any specific or credible threat of violence, beyond this connected to that fact. >> reporter: so just where is this investigation heading?

coming up at 6:00 we will have the latest from the fbi's director. live from the fbi headquarters in philadelphia, i'm walt hunter for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". walt, thank you. breaking news to tell but right now, chopper three live over a deadly fire in trenton, thinks an apartment building, in the the 300 block of south broad street. we are told a 74 year-old woman on the sixth floor of that building was killed. authorities are there, investigating, and no word yet on a cause. not so bad weather-wise definitely not as frigid as it has been but we are tracking changes. meteorologist lauren kacie is in for kate bilo out with the sky deck for the first look at the forecast. >> feeling not so bad out here little bit of the chill but feeling much more milder then last several days when we dealt with that arctic air in place but temperatures right now running above average, 45 degrees, it's your current in philadelphia, beautiful sunset going on behind me too, still a little bit of the breeze southeasterly at 10 miles an hour making it

feel more like 40 degrees, we are at 50 down the shore and not too chilly in the poconos at 27 degrees right now a light westerly wind. storm scan three showing us patchy clouds north of the city, otherwise mostly clear conditions a few clouds moving in overnight tonight but otherwise dry conditions and another mild day, even milder as we head into our friday. nice element light wind after several blustery days this week. the as we get in the upcoming weekend especially tomorrow night we will see rain moving in that will per sit in our saturday and another round of arctic air is in store and we will talk about that in the full forecast, coming up. >> lauren, thank you. tractor trailer accident is causing traffic trouble in montgomery county. the the big rig spilled 200 gallons of fuel on the pennsylvania turnpike near schultz road. chopper three over that scene in lansdale, only one lane is getting bias crews work to clean up the fuel and removed that tractor trailer, no injuries were reported in that accident and that big rig was carrying amazon packages.

police want to know what prompted vandalism in the holmesberg section of philadelphia. neighbors there woke up to this scene this morning, windows and windshields mashed on several cars near ditman street. half dozen vehicles were targeted. a suspect was arrested their by but that man's identity has not been released. it has been a week since a 13 year-old boy became camden's first homicide victim in 2016. his mother says she tried to rescue her son from the grips of the gang. >> reporter cherri gregg from our sister station kyw news radio spoke to the mother who was hoping her story, saves lives. >> iisha marcardo is grieving. her son nathanal plumber, junior was gunned down on this street in camden. the single mom of three says he was a good kid, but after witnessing his father's arrest, he changed. >> he spun out of control, he shut down.

will get a break from the breeze. 33 degrees under partly cloudy skies. to end off the workweek nice looking day, little sunshine to start, increasing cloud in the afternoon, light wind all throughout the day and a high temperature of 52 degrees. that will feel nice. storm scan three showing us quiet conditions, just patchy clouds moving in north of the city and down the shore as all things, those patchy clouds but otherwise very quiet, as we head in the day tomorrow, in precipitation in store but cloud deck will be increasing, turning over to mostly cloudy conditions by second half of the afternoon. we have rain in the forecast. if you have plans for your friday evening and take that umbrella just in case as this rain shield will be moving in for second half of the evening hours. this model in particular, moves it in a little bit faster, moves it out quicker but we will see that heavy rain moving in the delaware valley especially as we head into tomorrow night, heavy at times and then clearing out as we head into midday saturday. we will be dry saturday afternoon with gradual clearing and for the day

donald trump clash with tonight. republican presidential candidates are preparing to take the the stage for their latest debate. the "eyewitness news" continues now at 5:30. hi everyone i'm jessica dean. aim ukee washington. with most of the country focused on iowa and new hampshire g.o.p. presidential hopefuls are shift to go south carolina tonight. we will get more from cbs news correspondent weijia jiang. >> reporter: republican presidential hopefuls have a lot at stake when they take the stage for tonight's debate in south carolina. >> now that we are so close to iowa, the new hampshire, and we move south to south carolina, these debates will be even more critical. >> reporter: doctor scott buchanan is a political expert on voters in the state inn he says candidates should focus on one group tonight. >> in south caroline at republican primary, about 60 percent of the voters are evangelical christians. >> reporter: trump has lagged behind ted cruz and marco

road to sell his state of the union message. he took questions during a town hall meeting in baton rouge, louisiana today. the president talk about the the economy, criminal justice reform and finding a cure for cancer. he discussed his goals for the final year of his administration. >> there is some things i'd look to do like raise the minute number wage for everybody. would i love to get immigration reform passed but i'm realistic. >> the the president also praised louisiana's new democratic governor for expanding medicaid in the state. isis claims responsibility for deadly paris style attacks in indonesia's cap toll. a blast outside star bucks in jakarta was caught on camera. police say an attacker accidentally set off his suicide vest. the attackers were armed with guns and grenade. they struck the star bucks and police traffic signal. seven were killed, five were attackers two were civilians,

20 people were wounded. police departments in burlington county unleash a new crime fighting tool, that is called dna marking. the resident and business owners can purchase a kit that contains plant based dna used to mark valuables. each is registered to police and invisible solution can only be uncovered with ultraviolet light the so if they are ever stolen and recovered police can quickly identify the rightful owner. >> it is a tool to offenders, that they will be caught, the property will be returned to the owners, and it will tie that suspect to the the location of the crime. >> camden county began using the the new technology in june. a record 17 and a half million vehicles were sold in the u.s. in 2015, helped along by cheap gas and low interest rates. next years crop of cars are on display at north american international auto show in detroit, including the return of the the lincoln's famous continental, the the flagship of the ford's luxury brand.
