township. bypass is closed between newark road and route 82 because of this accident, and, and, all over the road, in the hazmat crew is responding. no injuries, have been reported. boy, major storm is well over and we are in clean up mode. good afternoon i'm ukee washington. i'm jessica dean. here is latest on the aftermath of this weekend's storm. philadelphia officials say all primary roads are passable, the focus is now on side streets, that are still snow covered. no word whether city schools will be opened up tomorrow. in new jersey, lieutenant governor kim guadagno toured the shore to see firsthand that flooding and beach erosion. she says that damages mates the will be tallied before the state can appeal for federal help. shore towns are deep in the trenches of the massive clean up as well after this weekend's storm brought devastating coastal flooding. >> new jersey reporter cleve bryan joins us live from stone harbor where new jersey's lieutenant governor surveyed

some residents feeling forgotten. "eyewitness news" reporter rahel solomon is in university city with how people are fairing there tonight, rahel. >> reporter: well, jessica, west philadelphia streets got quite the beating up as well, now those main streets, they offer the most part passable and clear and what we have been seeing are smaller road. they are still snow covered, leaving neighbors wondering when their streets will be cleared of snow. days after philadelphia's fourth largest snowstorm, blanketed the city in white, this crippling effect is still plane to see. >> bunch of cars backup, stuck, even people left them. i would have never left my car and came back. >> reporter: while main roads were largely passable on monday, many two-way streets have been coverted to a inning will lane. this street in south philadelphia appeared to be completely untouched and perhaps unrecognizable. >> they have to come out and plow the the streets. they are plowing everybody else's street. >> reporter: commissioners of the streets department tells "eyewitness news" about 10,000 d

this this weekend, and it is still all hand on deck with crews. as the city's fifth press briefing officials explained why smaller streets still look like, well, this. >> some of our smaller streets the trucks that we use in on those streets and amount of snow we have is larger than the plow that we can fit into the the street. so we have to shift some on our operations to one where we are using the bobcats to actually lift and push the snow from the street. >> reporter: from the streets to the sidewalks, university of the sciences student mahima singh says more should have been done. >> i have good shoes but i feel bad for them. >> reporter: city officials say their goal, it is to have nearly all streets plowed and passable by wednesday evening. >> small streets, big street, there is no difference. cars got to get out. they have to get out. >> reporter: back out here live at forty-third and locust in west philadelphia, you can see where this road is starting to be much clearer

but now issue for these drivers is all of the the slush. again, it just seems like one issue after another for drivers, after this massive storm this weekend, and now officials say if you would like to report a street that hasn't been plowed, they encourage you to call 311. today they informed us that over the weekend they received 9,000 calls to 311 and that included snow related issues as well as plow requests. reporting live, rahel solomon for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". very busy time, thank you rahel. once city workers plowed all of that snow it has to go somewhere. chopper three over broad and washington in south philadelphia a. this is just one of the several spots, that the city is using to store all that excess snow, and clearly, there are mountains of it. it is making headway in the aftermath of the storm. storm crews are back on the road but many are working with some detours. they say that the broad street line and the market frankford line is honor close to schedule. regional rails are back in services as well. please keep in mind there could be parking issues at

some rail stations, from all of the snow. >> staff at elmwood park zoo are dealing with significant damage from the snowfall, chopper three over the scene in norristown where birds of paradise exhibit has partially collapsed. the good news here all of the animals that normally populate the that exhibit were in a separate building and they were not harmed. at least sun was out today, melt something of the snow making it easier for people cleaning up. the problem is, there could be some refreezing tonight. the lets check with meteorologist kate bilo live on our cws3 sky deck, kate. >> we're definitely seeing melt ago cross the area today especially with all that sun and temperatures up near 40 in many facts. here on the sky deck our last measurement after the storm ended was 18 inches. now it is exacted to about 10.5 inches meaning that we're lose ago this water content. it is melting. any puddles you see, any wet spots running down the driveway that will turn into ice overnight and could lead to very slick conditions very

search continues in california for three escaped prisoners, men broke out of the orange count jail on friday and authorities believe two may still be in the community. the group somehow cut through metal, got the in to plumbing tunnels and repelled five stories from a roof using ropes, made of linen. >> but the the disturbance among inmate were a deputy involved in that where he was assaulted and at this point we preliminarily believe it may have been planned to director divert attention from staff. >> authorities are now looking into whether the prisoners had help to make their escape. severe turbulence forces an american airline flight to make an emergency landing in canada flight 206 was on its way from my am toy milan, italy when boeing 767, encountered ref air. aircraft landed safely in saint john's newfoundland. paramedics took three flight attendants and four passengers to the hospital and all on board got quite a scare. >> when we were ride ago long

out. it is, fun for kid and work out for the parents. plenty of snow out there if you want to sled, although, snow is melting, it is exacted quickly even by the the hours as we see that warmer air, work its way in. tomorrow will be even milder, as clouds track the to the mid 40's but we are tracking chance for showers. lets take a peak is what going on weather-wise, go out to storm scan three. locally not seeing much of anything, just some clouds pushing from the south and west as that warmer era approaches. that is along a warm front with no moisture with it but there will be fog as that warm moist air moves in overnight, the the actual cold front associated with the storm. here's your low, light snow in portions of minnesota, steadier stuff in iowa, cool front is look about here. notice how little moisture it has to work with, moving in the afternoon producing a stray shower. that is a all we are looking at as far as precipitation. not a big deal with temperatures above freezing. recapping snow totals if you have been with us and don't know how much fell? reading is the the big win

are, 32 inches of snow there. allah even town a tenth below that at 31.9. all time record for them. malvern 30.1. philadelphia at the airport two 2.4 and in trenton 22 inches of snow. many spots got a season's worth of snowfall in one day. our current snow cover map has change. i showed this in december, all in eastern canada. not anymore. we have pink all across maryland, virginia, and certainly in our region as well, northern new jersey got slammed by this storm. you can see that sharp northern cut off that we were talking about all week long but it didn't affect our area future visibility takes us down near zero at times overnight into tomorrow morning in the lehigh valley. the that brings us concern for freezing fog, as well as refreeze, fog forms at that warmer air arrives, water droplets become super cool with temperatures below freezing. any surface below freeze ago this fog could form an ice glaze. you may not see it but if you see fog and look on your car thermometer and see temperatures below freezing anything that looks wet could

be icy and that is case with the the refreeze with the melting snow as well. numerous icy spots expected on the roads overnight. in the morning ice will change to slush and then just wet and rain showers coming through tomorrow evening, not a whole lot. notice by tomorrow afternoon around 3:00 p.m. temperatures still above freezing at that hour. overnight partly cloudy, patchy fog developing, north and west as that warm air, over that big snow pack, and it is very cold on the ground, air is warmer, and you will get fog to develop. your three day forecast clouds and a stray shower in the afternoon tomorrow, wednesday, we're at 39, clouds decreasing, and on thursday, 36 degrees, now there is a lot floating around about a storm on friday. >> um-hmm, yes i see that on twitter. >> coming up i'll break it down for you. >> cool. we have relationships to a new level. a company is organizing blind

of the weather. which was a good idea because that was before they knew that didn't happen. >> i looked up and i could see sky. that is when i realized, oh, my. >> reporter: it was saturday evening when pastor lee wiggins was called to battle through the snow to check on a sprinkler alarm going off the at the church. >> over here at the edge of the balcony it sounded like a waterfall, gushing waterfall. >> reporter: snow that had drifted and piled on one section of the church's roof proved to be too much to hold. >> i have seen a lot of bad things in my day and this was all bad. this was one of the worst innings i have seen. >> reporter: broken pipes caused by collapse left crew toss deal with massive water damage on top of all else. weeks ago pastor lee planned his sunday surmon to focus on the rapture, he ended up having to live stream from it home. >> the rapture, lot of people talk about that when jesus comes back to take us out of here. >> reporter: he says, once one church member saw the photos of the roof on line she joked that it looked like, that is what happened.

could take a a few days before everybody is rebook. >> how about that on the cbs-3 healthwatch tonight the american heart association is issued, and that was released to day. >> just came out. the causes and i symptoms of the heart attack are different in women then what usually happens in men. this new statement a says that some risk factors can be even more dangerous. three years ago mar that goodbaum felt nauseous and had stomach pains. she waited a few hours and then headed to the hospital. >> i had in idea, and really and having chose pain. >> reporter: new scientific study from the american heart association says there could be key differences, between men and women when it comes to heart attack symptoms. >> it may not feel like it expected to feel but it is, discomfort somewhere in the chest area and or the neck, jaw, the back, the up are stomach, it can either be in

either arm or shoulder. >> reporter: this is first time that the heart association has put out a statement on heart attacks in women which highlights women often have different causes for heart attacks, including a certain type of plaque build up. >> if your blood pressure is too high today. >> reporter: some risk factors can be more harmful. >> diabetes can be twice as strong a risk factor, high blood pressure is strong risk factor. >> reporter: year later marcia had the same symptoms and another heart attack. this time she didn't wait. >> i tell my friend if you have stomach pain or slight nausea don't hesitate, i hesitated, i'm glad i'm alive after that. >> and lucky. >> reporter: the the heart association report says that black and hispanic women tend to have more risk factors such as diabetes and obesity, the at the time of their heart attack. this is a big reminder for women if you suspect of having a heart attack, having a stomach ache and not that pain in your chest, then get it checked out. >> don't wait.
