yesterday, katie, because as we know, it was cold but also a lot of ice on the roads, which released and then refroze over the night. so what we're seeing this morning, do have little black ice out there still, looks like things are getting better. >> with every passing day it will progressively get better and better start to see the snow melt away entire lip, still a lot of times you do tend to have the snow coverage specially after the casino of storm we just saw, you'll have a smoke pack around for quite a while. pretty tranquil, all things considered through really the rest of the week. now as we take things outside first and for most, yes, you see the tell tell sheen on the road surface outside hotel women help. main street, beautiful downtown section here right by moravian college. what you will fine, anything, meisha is right, anything that had a chance to melt away yesterday afternoon, since it did warm up little bit, has had a chance to refreeze, we go to temperatures, you will

melting, great news. love the picture shot. katie is rightment you can still see the sheen, especially residential roads and side street. seeing a lot of black ice still out there. so again today, take it ice. now this is why we have overturned vehicle, blue route southbound before the schuylkill, one lane open. you can see how they're kind of condense intoed far left lane, making the single file lane moving around this. what else always little dangerous, slippery road conditions, still cold out there this early time in the morning, 4:30 in the morning, we have people out in their vehicles walking around trying to get this management, trying to take care of everyone involved. that, too, especially people driving by, it is slippery out there. never know what's going to happen. be very, very careful in this area. blue route southbound before the schuylkill. one lane open there. snow removal still going on, 202 northbound, valley forge road, right lane compromised, push it off to the shoulder, right lane having no problems in terms of traffic volume. we just wouldn't this early tuesday morning, which by the way a lot of schools still

closed today. here is a look at 95 at cottman, cottman looking pretty good this morning when i took it in, thinking it will be okay today. we know it got very busy yesterday. ben franklin bridge looking good. for those of you moving westbound from jersey looking all good there. northeast extension southbound from lansdale turnpike right lane block for snow removal. so it is still continues, erika, back over to you. >> meisha, thank you. days after the storm and big part of the region still burried in snow. crews are working around the clock to clear the roads but they still have days of work ahead. throughout philadelphia, small streets remain covered with mounds of snow. cars are trapped in parking spots and the streets are impassable. residents tell "eyewitness news", they're fed up. >> city always forgets about us, just the way it has always been in south fill. >> i streets are terrible, even walking today to a doctors appointment, it was terrible, streets are terrible. >> the mayor encourages residents to be patient, plow trucks clearing main roads and

into the trucks to car at this off. another truck comes in right behind it. this has been the operation for several hours now several days, these trucks working around the clock to get our main arteries clear, working their way over to our side streets. we will pan over to tutor street. the intersection here. take a look all the way down there. you kind of see what the neighborhoods are up against if you live on these smaller at the shower streets. they're just absolutely packed with snow and ice. that ice melt over again. and the glaze of just very smooth and rough surface, lots of potholes, other kind of spots. over here, you casino of see the efforts that are underway, and how severe they are. this trash can is mashed up inbetween all of this snow here there is packed snow. shows you just how hard the crews are working out here, we understand there is some 25, 75, 2,075 miles of streets

here in philadelphia, some 1800 miles have been cleared, they're still work to do of course f your street is one that's not this clear, that needs clearing, you are asked to call 311. also reach out to philly 311 through social media, on facebook, or twitter. they expect this clean to up take several days. they ask you to be patient and report your street. if you are seeing an issue, of course, slowly but surely the streets are getting back to normal. it will take a long time before all of the street here are clear. we are live in mayfair, justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", erika? >> going to take a while but they're hard at work, justin, thank up. allentown continues to dig out as well. city got nearly 32-inch of snow, that's a record breaking amount. road crews are trying to get rid that far snow as fast as they can. secondary roads like that, they are still burried. allentown mayor ed pal/ski urging contractors who want to help to contact the city, also making parking available and

several streets to clear streets for plows. over to new jersey now 2us senators, robert menendez, cory booker, will join congressman lob and and dough, cape may county coastal communities not only dealing with snow, but also flooding and beach errosion. several shore towns report record flood levels. crews in north wildwood rescued an estimated 150 people from their homes. for some, it was like re-living hurricane sandy. >> we got hit in sandy a little bit. and we just got hit a little hard they are time. so the rugs that were new and the floors that were new are coming back up. >> just day have a zoo, you do it, you get it back together, and no one anticipate that it would be this bad. so heart breaking. >> the department of environmental pro tech shore, toured several beach towns assess the damage. meantime governor chris christie who resumed his presidential campaign in new

to fully clean up the oil spill in the schuylkill river in center city philadelphia. chopper three over the scene near market street. authorities say more than 4,000 gallons of oil leaked from a generator near 24th and market. about 250 gallons actually made it into the river. look at the oil slick there. the icy water did help contain some that far spill, which did not affect drinking water. but that spill did shutdown a portion of the schuylkill river trail. so hey the cold weather, the snow helping out soaking up some oil. >> amaze that that happened as all. incredible. >> forty-four today. >> looks terrific, kate. >> not bad. watching little disturbance roll through. i'll watch you through future weather. doesn't bring more than couple of rain showers. and i say you can probably lever the umbrella home too. it doesn't look that impress a. we start things off by going outside. live look from "skycam 3", looking lovely, lovely sky across the board here. we are certainly dealing with some clouds in the atmosphere starting to build in more than anything because we're

starting to see the disturb and creep ever closer. next to live neighborhood network shot, at this point, serious halo effect going on around the street lights here on the boardwalk. but still, a lot of sand lining that boardwalk right now. and that's just because of course the coastal flood being and the errosion that took place shoving all of that water from the weekend storm out on to the board. here's the disturbance i was talking becomes i don't want you too concerned about the fact that there is some pink on the leading edge of this. in other words, that's little hint every icing coming through central pennsylvania right now. coy see the poconos perhaps picking up little bit of that, maybe in the next couple of hours, but this isn't going to get here, even though it is awfully close, moving slowly t won't get here until the temperatures have had a chance to rebound, in fact, right now, many of you are already well above freezing, so don't worry yourselves too much this will cause any kind of wintery precipitation. rather, a couple of stray showers here and there, so we walk you through future weather. it shows it pretty well. okay, carbon monroe county maybe northern most lehigh county picks up quick blip on

that will said, that precipitation we will find today generally just couple of rain showers, so as for that major storm system, the wintery wet their we ended up dealing, with i don't want to you worry too much about today's system, guys. really doesn't have ton of moisture to begin w and the timing on our side. but that side problem, guys, of icy travel, is going to be with us. even though we're going to be well above freezing today, and any precipitation we see is strictly rain showers, you will have a lot of melting take place from all of the snow we've received saturday throughout the day. that will will refreeze we think for the next cup ill of night, just because we have so much snow to get rid of. that's going to be running theme, i would say, generally through the rest of this week. so please be cautious of that. meantime few late day rain showers across the region, it will be somewhat spotty in nature, then by thursday back into some sunshine, friday it, does look like there will be a storm system nearby. but it should scoot out to sea, that's the current prognosis, hopefully stays that way, if anything changes or at earls there will absolutely let you know. and then actually looking

schools. all of those closings are at the bottom of the screen and on cbs philly. com we have live team coverage for you of the lingering mess and the clean up from that storm, however, we want to get to katie inside and she has the forecast. we have the whole team covering it for us. katie, good snow day? what do you think? >> absolutely, unless unfortunately you have one of those folks who hasn't been dugout yet, waiting to go anywhere, but had a lot of real estate covered by this very large, call it, monsterous storm system that came through here. so we know the crews are trying their best. but in the meantime, i know you are starting to go a little stir crazy, getting little cabin fever. we understand. that said we will start to see temperatures moderating up, pretty nicely today. you can see how the clouds are starting to lift, in moving in from west to east, courtesy of new disturbance starting to head our way. little pink starting to show up as well indicating very light either freezing rain and/or sleet up and down portions of say the allegheny's and in toward the state college for example, out toward williamsport next, and
