tonight we launch brand new segment answering your questio questions. >> good evening i'm ukee washington. >> i'm jessica dean. we begin tonight with what pennsylvania state police are investigating as a case of animal abuse specifically against horses and other farm animals. the owner of a rescue group in quakertown calls this case the worst to come across her radar in years. "eyewitness news" reporter david superintendent has the story from bucks county. >> reporter: after repeated tries three fire departments and about 20 bucks county volunteers brought seven-year-old clarissa to her feet. she's in bad condition, starving with mull pell health problems. >> i was a little kid that rescue all the little animals in the world. >> laurie runs last chance ranch in quakertown. and rescued clarissa from a local farm earlier this week. the 1,000-pound horse is one of several animals rescued. >> 16 horses, 20 sheep and

goats, five dogs, a pig an cow. >> otto and trixie are facing major health problems but clarissa is the worse. she was down all day before help arrived. >> i asked for couple of guys and i got the entire fire department. it was awesome. >> reporter: richland town fire chief broke his entire department to help. >> we don't think twice about it. we're all volunteer. we all work during the day and come don this. >> now that she's up op her feature says clarissa will survive but the next 48 hours are important. >> lose faith in mankind but then i see all these people acomia round and i get my faith back. >> reporter: pennsylvania state police detectives are investigating though they're not saying if will be any arrests or where all of the animals came from. i am told though by a source it's local. reporting in quakertown, david

spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news". northeast philadelphia community's kindness in the spotlight tonight because of the huge snowfall philadelphia police told everyone not to save their parking spots in the days after the storm. but neighbors are supporting one family breaking that rule. natasha brown joins us from rhawnhurst with their story. natasha? >> ukee, despite philadelphia police aggressive campaign to stop being from saving shoveled out parking spaces, one woman is defying the law because of extenuating circumstances. crewing around the streets of rhawnhurst in northeast philadelphia, snow weary residents have marked their spots. >> i dug my spot out and i saved my spot. i have to admit. >> reporter: shaving shoveled out spaces using chairs, garbage cans and cones. >> this is our cone. >> reporter: for terry who is six month pregnant this cone is different. her handwritten note -- >> says this spot was solved of shoveled by a cancer patient for

himself and his pregnant wife. kind the dig out your own spot. thank you. >> her husband mike was diagnosed with stage four head and neck cancer in november. he shoveled their car out of nearly 2 feet of snow during this past weekend's storm. despite his illness. >> i can't shovel for you. you won't be able to physically shovel another spot. the cone is going out. >> reporter: terry did something she says she's never done before. something philadelphia police are aggressively trying to prevent. savesies saving shoveled out parking spaces. she says she did it because her husband's live saving treatment depends on it. >> he just recently started radiation on monday which was the reason why i put the cone he needs to go to cerf son five days week. >> i would economy. she's pregnant. he's sick. why not? have a heart. >> reporter: terry says heartfelt gestures have been pouring in. >> we actually had a neighbor i don't even know where he lives knocked on our door and left a note saying thing in time it snows that he'd love to shovel us out which is has been awesome report roar for now terry is hoping neighbors and police will

walking as we head through to into the and into tomorrow morning. take look at storm scan3. you can see skies are clear across the region we've got clouds offshore with a front that came through yesterday and clouds moving in from the west as another system approaches but temperatures right now again that's the story. it's 26 in wilmington. we're already subfreezing in philadelphia. in fact subfreezing pretty much everywhere on the map except for wildwood you'll have patches of black ice tonight into tomorrow morning. i'll tell you more about that refreeze cycle coming up. we do have warmup to talk about as well with the seven day forecast. i'll tell you how warm it will get getting up. back inside to you. >> kate, thanks so much. weekend snowstorm was used by a thief in delaware to take advantage of aing is-year-old woman. ton night she's talking about how she became the victim in a shoveling scheme. carol lives alone with her dog in claymont. when woman offered to shovel her driveway saturday, she paid her $30 and didn't think much of it. the next day, that woman showed up again without a shovel.

and pushed her way in. stealing her debit card and ca cash. >> she just pushed her way in that door. nearly knocked hee over. she went all over the house. in everything. >> she was back in the back bedroom. i said to her... she says can you rent me this bedroom? i said no. that's for my family. >> the suspect used her card at the wawa down the street and police were able to grab the surveillance photos. they're still looking for that suspect tonight. 92 castle county officers eventually shoveled her driveway for no charge. tonight police are praising two brothers for scaring off couple who tried to lure them into their vehicle. investigators are looking for this car that drove through the sanctuary development in evesham township january 16th. they say the couple inside offed the 10 and 11-year-old brothers candy. the 11-year-old responded by pulling out his cell phone to call police and the suspects

fled. the police believe the couple also attempted to lure children in nearby oaklyn. >> high school basketball coach who apparently head but add referee stripped of his coaching duties. neshaminy jerry devine caught on cam hitting the official during a game. school board voted to officially remove him as head coach but he will continue teaching at the school. devine is charged with harassment which could send him to jail for 99 days if convict convicted. you've seen plenty of people flying drones for fun. but what if they could help save lives in philadelphia? today city controller alan butkovitz recommended drones be used by l and i, police, fire and other departments for public safety purposes. officials tested them out in hunting park, west and south philadelphia and point breeze. a drone was able to feedback video from inside a run down building while inspectors were out of harm's way. however, some residents are concerned about the risks drones could pose.

down to 23. 30-inches of snow fell in allentown everything starting to melt. you'll have pockets of ice on roads and sidewalks. this refreeze cycle will continue through the week and as we're predicting highs above freezing every day the snow melt will happen during the day and refreeze as we go subfreezing every night. icy spots will be hard to so. we're talking black ice here. and be careful walking. be careful driving as well especially elevated surfaces. take look the this much the rest of the week thursday and friday if you don't look at the bottom for a second you can see thursday and friday looking pretty similar. highs near 40. sunshine. just check the seven day that's all you get. dress the same both days. i'm here to tell you that's not great idea because tomorrow 39 degrees going to feel close to 39 degrees. with don't have a lot of wind. friday that 40 feels no better than 27 all day and here the reason take look at these future winds tomorrow southwest wind very light. pretty nice winter day but you head no friday, and look at
