people. more than eight months later we're getting a glimpse of new evidence in the crash, including haunting images, moment before the the accident. we're also getting a response from attorneys for some of the victims. good evening, i'm ukee washington. i'm jessica dean. "eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter has been tracking new developments all day and he joins us from the cbs-3 sat center, walt. >> reporter: you might call it the tail of two statements n this one days after the crash the engineer tells investigators that he remembers nothing, and then in this 16 months later in november, he tells them many details. attorneys for the victims and their families say for them the the two differing accounts raise serious questions. these pictures from a camera mounted on the engine of train 188, show for the first time the final seconds at the engine and seven cars, fly off the rails of the frankford curve, killing eight and injuring more than 200. the video, and 2,000 pages of evidence made public by the ntsb, including a november

interview by brendan bostian describing how he was, accelerating just before the crash. the train investigators say traveling 106 miles an hour, more than twice the the speed limit. i felt the sensation of the train tipping over. i remember realizing that the train was going to go off the the track and feeling like okay, well, this is it. >> no where is there any justification for brand an bostian reckless decision to ago selling rate to 106 miles an hour in a curve. >> reporter: attorney bob mongeluzzi in a press conference wither attorneys representing victims questioned why bostian in his november statement, admitted he was accelerate nothing to the curve, providing other details, after last may, telling the same investigators he remembered nothing about the the crash. >> six or seven pages of memory that seemed to have suddenly come back to him.

i'm walt hunter, for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". we now know that a rockies behind this damage to amtrak a acela a express train last night. amtrak to 2222 was passing through fill last night bound for new york city when it shattered a window. it happened on the same stretch of the tracks where that amtrak train derailed last may. some minors say the incident will not cause them to, question passenger safety. >> i feel fairly certain that, you know, there is so much attention on that specific part of the track and a lot the of attention on what happened, and previously thought we would be safe and macking sure we were safe today. >> reporter: none of the 201 passengers on board last night were hurt. investigators are working to determine whether someone intentionally threw the rock or if something else happened. tonight we are tracking showers, a mild monday across the area. it is coming in handy at spring garden today as people made their way around during a damp day. we will check with

meteorologist kate bilo on the cbs-3 sky deck. kate, you still got that umbrella i see. >> i do indeed but you don't need it as much right now as difficult an hour ago. the showers have certainly lightened up just feeling a few light drips here on the sky deck in center city but we have at least an hour left of at least scattered showers moving through even as the heaviest begin to move out. lets look at storm scan three. you can see what i mean, heavier rain moved across camden and gloucester counties, now pushing into ocean county at the moment but we have another little enhanced area of showers moving into chester county. still dealing with locally steady, embedded showers moving through the area, through the rest of this evening, finally by after about seven or 8:00 o'clock when we see these showers start to move out and they will be off the coast by midnight, there could be a shower lingering until will 11 or 12:00 but that is bit. timing rain between now and 7:00, steady light rain in the sit. after 7:00 rain to the south and east and gradual clearing overnight. for now we have another storm to talk about by middle of the week and that brings witt the a flood watch.

the the 4100 block of torresdale avenue. police say that the suspect did not have bus fair and got the in the fight with another passenger and then stabbed him repeatedly. the victim is in stable but critical condition. radnor police tonight are searching for a suspect whom they say stole from an elderly woman. thinks a composite sketch of the suspect, on january 21st police say the the suspect prayed on a eight three-year old woman on west wayne avenue. he reportedly knocked on her door and then convinced her, her roof needed repairs, and she let him into her second floor bedroom. >> he stated hey i sea water on the ground. she believed that the roof was actually leaking. >> police say that the suspect stole $1,600 from the victim, the the suspect is described as a white male, heavy set, clean shave even in his 60's. we are just two hours away, under two hours from the start of the iowa caucus. for the the first voting event of the 2016 election season,

closet. you will need them by wednesday. this is a bigger storm that you'll be tracking on wednesday. good news for us is we're talking about rain, not snow, many areas in the midwest getting snow and major snow from this storm but track of the low, will take it generally west of here and that means warm air and also just a lot of rain. lets look at wet ther wise, outside right now to get to bethlehem and up in northampton county road are damp 6789 they have had showers coming through. in one escape the showers this evening. you can see glistening on the road there but still a lot of snow on the ground, and i heard they brought these big trucks through and removed the trucks on the main piles up there near bethlehem but side streets still have big piles and still see snow on the ground. that snow is melting but when it melt it sinks in the ground and ground is fairly saturated. as we have more rain through next couple days we will be concerned about the risk for flooding, again with all of that snow melt and rain coming through. so tonight the it is the appetizer so to speak. we have light showers moving through the the area a few

steady ones embedded over eastern chester county moving toward, the exton frazier area and delaware county and toward city of philadelphia at moment. steady rain moving into ocean county from burlington county but back edge is pushing into the western suburbs, and that means this rain will be out fairly quickly. temperatures right now still 50 degrees in philadelphia a well above average today. forty-eight in millville. fifty-three in atlantic city at the moment and 46 degrees in allentown. moving ahead in time you can see showers cleared the coast by 11:00. we are dry. tomorrow starts with sunshine and good news unsticks around all day long, beautiful day, between two days. on wednesday our next storm the snow well off to the north but look at all this rain central pennsylvania by noon and then it gets through our area just in time for evening commute 6:00 o'clock this time wednesday we will track a line of heavier showers and rumble of thunder and strong gusty wind a as this line moves through. that clears out quickly as well but in the before leaving some heavy rain behind.
