this is the system that will be working its way up the eastern seaboard. over past several days this was intended to go out to sea but it has been creeping closer and closer as that front stalled closer to the coast then what was forecast. now a wave of low pressure tracking up that front will bring risk for rain and snow. you can see it pretty well developing up and down easterne board we have rain stretching from portions of coastal new england, cape cod, and massachusetts area right dunn through carolinas and virginia. this precipitation shield will work its way further inland during overnight hours. we have winter weather advisories into effect at 1:00 . it is expect to be out rain until then but you can see from the city on west, a whole lot of nothing going on. head in the shore points and we are seeing rain, light rain and drizzle and this will continue to move inland as we head through overnight hours. temperatures are still on the warm side. that is a limiting factor with this storm. 48 degrees in philadelphia. forty-four in millville. forty-three in allentown. we will drop to the mid 30's
6:18 pm
overnight not quite cold enough for that light fluffy snow. this will be that heavy, wet, pastie snow that likes to just glue itself on to tree branches and grass surfaces. question will it stick to the roads? that is all going to depend on how heavily this snow comes down. here are your winter weather advisory up and down eastern seaboard, from 10:00 a.m. in the city, noon down the shore, hang around longer down the shore but you can see this will be a battle between how intense this snow gets and how warm the air is, notice it does not start to change over to snow until 3:00 a.m. by five or 6:00 it is all snow, mainly from the city on east. the it will continue until 9:00 and push on out n that time we could see heavy thumps of snow, intense snow fall band that could lead to a coat to go 2 inches in philadelphia and surrounding suburbs. two to 4 inches in south jersey and higher amounts up toward portions of new york city, and into long island. not a lot of snow but could impact.
6:19 pm
we are talking brief bursts of intense snow right around the time of the morning commute, could stick to some roads coming down heavily enough into south jersey, main roads should stay wet at the outset and we have had shorter lead time on this storm then the last one. rain change to go snow, it is breezy, briefly show you our next storm this one gets out of here. look the at early next week there thinks big system that will miss us out to sea but upper low rotates around and we have chance for accumulating snow possibly late monday into tuesday and amounts look generally light for now that system still very disorganized but something to look for early next week. good news, talk in the middle of the weekend and that does look quiet. stay there we will have more news when
