"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us now at the penndot salt yard in south philly and crews i know have been busy trying to keep the roads safe for us. justin, good morning. >> erika, jim, good morning. busy indeed. we just spoke with peter, overseeing the salting effort here out of south philly, he tells us right now, that falling temperatures is a major concern. hopefully they'll not do that. that of course will lead to the snow possibly sticking on
6:04 am
roadways here. he tells me that just in the past hour or so, they've been working on what's called spot salting. that's the bridges, overpasses , areas prone to freezing first. let's take you now to the scene behind it us here, see the tractors here, the truck are here, ready to go me all are in activation mode right now getting out there and salting and treating these roadways. he is asking all drivers to keep their distance, what they are doing right now, is trying to get ahead of on this morning rush, they're big concern is this precipitation continuing to fall, and they are getting stuck in traffic so make way to let the trucks go this morning. jim, erika, back over to you. >> justin finch, thank you. right now to jut jersey. i snow snow starting to cover the roads out there. >> jan carabeo in the cbs-3 mobile weather lab in mt. holly. what are the roads look being like there, jan?
6:05 am
>> seeing changing conditions, this is high street, mt. holly, burlington county, where you can see the road is covered with snow right now. just over the last half hour, we saw that slush, now, turned into completely snow covered road on this one specific street in south jersey. now, of course it will look different depending where you wake up and head out the door this morning, but just a look in mt. holly. so, cars are moving very slowly now. we see couple of tire tracks in the roads, is what we're seeing. and we have seen a a lot of salt trucks around, so crews are out here trying to keep these roads in the best condition as possible but you can see with the lights there, how heavy the wet heavy snow is falling right now, how steadily it is falling, and it is accumulating here on the main roads keep that in mind, build in extra time and take it easy

6:07 am
mcdermott. want to tell you more about sean. obviously he's local product, went to lasalle high school. and at one point was a coach under the philadelphia eagles before he was fired. and the late 2,000's, defensive coordinator, since then, he has landed in carolina and is doing an absolutely tremendous job running one of the best defensive unit in all of football. but obviously, he's doing pretty well, and missing opportunity to become the head coach of the philadelphia eagles. yesterday i had a moment to sit down and talk to him about superbowl 50. the panthers, and the philadelphia eagles. so great, a blessing to be here, special unique opportunity, that every young man dreams of. and when they're growing up to be in the superbowl in one way shape or form, and up from and happy to be here. >> talking about dreaming, i bent you're not sleeping. you have peyton manning on your side. >> that speaks for itself.
6:08 am
i mean, probably one if not one of the best quarterbacks, tough quarterback to beat. if this is in fact his last game, then we will expect his best. >> i'm pretty sure he will go out there and try to give it to you the best he can. since 98. for you, we love seeing you, you're a philly guy. people are rooting for you back home. what casino of text messages and calls are you getting? >> it has been outstanding, sport even back when toward the end of the season when the eagles job came open. just hearing things, phenominal. it feels good to be appreciated and wanted, that's home for me and my family, and really appreciate the support of philadelphia. >> that's the guy we want, that's the guy, did they ever reach out to you? what happened there? >> they d i mean, you know, howie roseman and i spoke early on in the process to

them. and our season was still going on. so it was very preliminary at that point, and really it was clear from the beginning that they were focused on an offensive minded head coach. and so, and i believe they got a good one in doug and a good person. so i'm excited for doug and the eagles and the philadelphia community. >> was there a part of that you wanted that job? i know that's difficult for you to answer because you're here, you're focused on the superbowl. but it is your hometown team. >> listen, you want to be the bells. to me, if you're worth your salt in terms of a professional, you want to be the best and at the top your game. and being a head coach in this league, whether it was philadelphia or anywhere else, is certainly a goal of mine. obviously doing it in philadelphia would have been special and unique, because of being from philadelphia. it will happen for me at the right time and at the right place. >> guys, i really enjoyed my chat with sean mcdermott. very humble man, and obviously
